Just binged watched the whole 4 episodes . What a lovely flawed family, I really think they are completely made for each other. It was also amazing watching all the highs and lows of his football career, but god we should be ashamed of what the England supporters put him through when he slipped up in the world cup against Argentina, what he went through was horrific .

Brian May is a lovely man he quietly supported Patrick Moore in his final years. He is an astrophysicist who supports and contributes to NASA and other scientific institutions. He set up an animal trust and is a bloody good guitarist.

A lot of his work goes under the radar and, like George Michael, will only become public one he is no longer with us.

Always thought it was strange when Katherine Jenkins said - for no reason - “Can people please stop saying I’m having an affair with David Beckham” . Nobody had said it, then he said some vile things about her in an email. 🧐🤷‍♀️

Watched some of it last night. VB is indeed still as vacuous, odd and dull as ever. She once showed promise of something of a personality in her youth, but now she clearly has an eating disorder and talks in a strange, wooden, affected manner.

And DB, well if one wasn’t aware of the vulgarity of the Qatar gig, and the ignominious knighthood emails, one could be convinced of the humble lad made good act, but there really is too much, rather unsavoury, water under the bridge for it to wash with the perspicacious among us.

I've just finished episode one and haven't read all the way through but I wonder why Victoria told him she was pregnant the night before the final as opposed to after he had played the match ?

Finished ep 4 . I really liked them . The kids seem lovely . And I have a new found respect for Victoria, she gave up a lot for David to follow his dreams . I saw real team work there and a lot of sacrifices from her to keep her family together. He seemed like he could be quite selfish and single minded, but she totally supported him even when it wasn't her thing .

Seems like something occurred between them to cause such bad feeling.

It’s interesting that other posters read the “banter” between David and Victoria as evidence of a loving relationship. I found it uncomfortable to watch - it felt like there was a real undertone there, and I came away thinking that they certainly didn’t like each other very much.

I also found all his affirmations of love for her a bit jarring but that’s because I know what he’s been up to over the years and he’s renowned for shagging anything that moves basically (including having to move harper from the school she & my girl went to because of his activities - it was quite the scandal).

I loved all the old football footage and it really brought back the energy of that time in Britain - so much energy and drive and swagger in the culture. And Gary Neville just seemed like a lovely man.

id also almost forgotten just what an amazing footballer becks was. So much of a circus around him as a person it’s easy to forget it all was based on actual, undeniable talent.

As a side note - her face, which looks AMAZING in still photos, looked so much more obviously worked on in the documentary. It reminded me that all of these fillers and Botox etc really do work best for photos.

Agree. By the time he moved to Madrid the Spice Girls weren’t together anymore anyway. Prior to that she didn’t move to Manchester despite his job.

I do admire Victoria and feel bad for how she has been painted as a controlling, villainous wife for so long. She was at the height of her career when she found out she was pregnant with Brooklyn but the focus has been the impact on his career.

There is a tension there in the way she talks about the decisions that she has made for her family and the way he continually ribs her about not doing any housework.

I’m on episode 2 now and the hate after the World Cup is really quite disturbing. I wonder if anyone in West Ham shown in the documentary has any remorse at all. It’s disgraceful.
