Channel five with Tanya from Eastenders and a woman who looks a bit like Cheryl Cole
Couldn't see a thread for this

To be fair Flo is in year 6 so shouldn't wouldn't be familiar with those parents ordinarily

the80sweregreat · 08/06/2023 21:46

The school staff need to do a safeguarding course.

Why was little Catherine dressed like a 'Railway children ' child ?

🤣

the80sweregreat · 08/06/2023 21:34

Oh yes, who's phone did she use to FaceTime her mum ?
Emily had her phone.

Can phone using WiFi from iPad or computer I suppose

the80sweregreat · 08/06/2023 21:53

Oh ok! I'm not good with tech !
So Catherine did push bro off the Cliff then?

Her arm seems ok now after a wash in the sea

Yes

purpleme12 · 08/06/2023 22:00

Ending was a bit odd

CurlyhairedAssassin · 08/06/2023 22:03

purpleme12 · 08/06/2023 21:55

Yes

Let's get this straight. Catherine decided to push her friend's brother OFF A CLIFF because he was going to "tell on them" for taking a boat out without permission? 😂

the80sweregreat · 08/06/2023 22:05

So , Emily is going to do an open university course to be a lawyer in jail!..
Although if she is only in there for GBH and kidnapping, she probably won't be in there for that long ?
I suppose Laura wasn't that ' good ' really!
Everyone seemed to bounce back fairly quickly from it all!

How such young children were allowed out alone close to deep water was a mystery in itself and one in a nightie affair.
The mum clearly didn't give a stuff about health and safety

SecretVictoria · 08/06/2023 22:19

@CurlyhairedAssassin Emily said in the first episode that they were new to the area as Laura questioned that she’d never seen her at school.

purpleme12 · 08/06/2023 22:21

And in year 6

Papergirl1968 · 08/06/2023 22:22

Well that was predictable!
JJ is always watchable but she's very typecast and that puzzled expression she keeps doing where she screws her nose up drives me mad.

the80sweregreat · 08/06/2023 22:24

Emily spun a tale about being a single mum and moving to the area with Flo. It was all lies.
I hope laura contacted the nice neighbour to say thanks for the wine and being a good friend.
She must have wondered what happened there !
It wasn't terrible , but it did have a few plot holes and the school were very loose with their safeguarding procedures.

Jo Joyner was in ' riptide' which I didn't even finish it was so bad!
Similar character.
She must like playing the sane parts
As Tanya in EE . she used to do the nose turny uppy thing , mostly at Max !

I thought they tied it up fairly well, but unfortunately seemed to be angling for a second season at the end.

MyNameisMathilda · 09/06/2023 09:19

This is a weird mish mash of a serious actress with some other actress who is so obviously evil that it is ridiculous. I gather she is from Hollyoaks? Will watch to the end but it is irritating me so much.

I just thought the strange bit was Laura seemingly being drawn to Emily.
It didn't ring true to me and I couldn't quite see it

the80sweregreat · 09/06/2023 10:08

Can you train to be a lawyer with a criminal record ? She also used illegal drugs and could have potentially killed Laura spiking her drinks and attempted to kill Rob too.

I guess they’d been friends as children so whatever the attraction was, it was still there as adults. I think Laura was a bit lonely/overwhelmed and Emily made her feel free again.

I didn’t like the ending; Laura ended up getting away with it with the help of her mum. The comment “you wouldn’t have had all this” really was cruel - it was OK to ruin one family’s life….as long as it wasn’t theirs.

HaveWeGotAnyCake · 09/06/2023 11:17

I really enjoyed that drama. She does look like Cheryl Cole.

I just didn't buy the whole thing about her being drawn to Emily personally at the end

the80sweregreat · 09/06/2023 11:31

The mum was just looking out for Catherine
Emily got the shitty end of that stick
What she did to everyone was horrible though
Especially Eliza in that creepy lighthouse
