And great to see Ann Mitchell. She was brilliant in Widows (the original). It's one of the great TV roles. like Tony Soprano or Vern Schillinger.

I nearly said at the end of ep #2, I wonder if Emily's next step will be shagging Rob? That might still be on the cards! 😀And Laura seems to have stopped washing her hair!

Laura's hair looked dreadful, her eldest is a brat and Emily wants her dead I assume !

I love how she just walks in and out of work on a whim too. I know Eliza was ill , but she has hardly been there really and the new woman looks ready to take her place too
It's all just so shitty for her and will only get worse I suppose

The Mum is clearly dodgy as she told her daughter 'not to say anything ' about the accident. She is a good actress and was Tanya's mum in Eastenders too

I saw the first episode last night and I'll watch them all (one a night maybe) but I thought it is like those domestic noir books that became all the rage a few years ago until the market was oversaturated with them. One comes out, then everyone jumps on the bandwagon, you know, the ones with a "twist" and they were all the same anyway. It was all too obvious even in the first episode what was going on.

I like a thriller like this , but after reading 'the girl on the train ' I sort of became good at picking up on the clues or sort of realizing what the big twist will be. It's easier to hide things in a book than on a tv drama as well.
The only book that like this that floored me was ' cry baby ' by Rebecca Griffiths
That really was good at the twists and kept me guessing.
With this drama we know straight away who the baddie is, just not the facts.
Still, it's entertaining and better then some others I've sat through

Ffs, was so confused reading this - had read about it and looked for it last night. Watched a programme called "without sin" with Vicky McClure in it. It was really good actually but I was v confused thinking it didn't sound like the thing I'd read about 😂

There's lots of farfetched parts to this, as is usual with these types of things. The school. It's primary, right? Laura has been on maternity leave. She would have been there every day. Eliza is like, 7? The age where if you're at the school gates every day you've got to know the other parents quite well, attended birthday parties etc. I don't understand why Laura didn't know who Flo's mum was. You get to know even the parents that work full time and hardly ever drop off. But Flo's mum did do drop offs.

Also for a nanny Emily hardly does a thing. What is the point in employing her? She does school drop off and pick ups apparently. That's all.

And why was Emily just allowed to wander around the school and pick up Eliza, with no contact from her mum?

I get annoyed with myself because I know they're a load of bollock but still get drawn in!
