harpsichordcarrier · 07/02/2008 22:59

(just watching it on sky plus)
that scene on the motor boat was freaky just like every drunken party I went to in the 80s

SueBaroo · 07/02/2008 23:07

I've succumbed to the lure of the BBCiPlayer.

I am really liking his eighties get up, too. I love the way he comes across as still an arrogant bastard, but with, like, depth.

AitchTwoOh · 07/02/2008 23:11

it's his acno, sue. denotes sensitivity.

AitchTwoOh · 07/02/2008 23:11

er, acne. wow, that's a word that changes a lot with a wee vowel.

violetsky · 07/02/2008 23:13

I'm iplayering too, suebaroo.

madamez · 07/02/2008 23:13

And the Stranglers No More Heroes was 1977! Pretty much obsolete by 81. ANd she really is an annoying dumb biffer, isn't she.

It was rubbish. Going to stick with it though, maybe it'll improve once they calm down and stop being so pleased with themselves.

I was irritated by the inaccuracies on the soundtrack (geek) too. Bonus points for The Passions though.

procrastinatingparent · 07/02/2008 23:27

Spent most of it not getting it. Then that final scene where he pours her wine and goes to glower in the corner ... well, all the blood rushed away from my head.

All this sexual tension for how many episodes?

CoffeeCrazedMama · 07/02/2008 23:29

Sorry Pan - just stepping in to out-ponce you. I'm sure it wasn't Delibes but Catalini's La Wally, which was made popular by the '80s French film 'Diva'... Or maybe we are thinking different scenes? It was a few hours ago now!

And while I'm at it the actress really annoys me, too, Bree - there's an annoying Keira Knightly-ness to her, iyswim.

chuzzlewit · 07/02/2008 23:29

I expected it to be disappointing but not such a parody.

Will stick with it though, for Gene.

Frizbe · 07/02/2008 23:30

BTW they didn't have white NOBO boards in the 80's did they? (one at the back of the store room 'cupboard)

scampadoodle · 07/02/2008 23:31

I have the Passions on 7"! Not picture sleeve though unfortunately.
I don't think you can count late 70s tracks as 'inaccuracies' as they did exist. I queried Duran Duran as I thought they were later but no, it was their 2nd single in 1981.
What I particularly loved about the final scene - apart from the sexual tension - was the fact he'd filled her glass so high she had to slurp.
