here it is on youtube if you wanna reminisce again!!

bobsmum · 08/02/2008 11:20

I liked it. Am v impressed with GH's seamless shift from arrogant arse to love interest. But would still like to see a sniff of Sam somehow.

What's Annie doing in 1981 I wonder? Did she and Sam get together for good (or 7 years at least)

I think there will be more Sam references as time goes on. GH had the news clipping in his office and he looked at it in a forlorn manner....sigh....

Haven't been this excited about a new telly thing for ages.

Unless there'll be more JS on DW.

lottiejenkins · 08/02/2008 11:20

The Passions song i should have added... Lucky u CD seeing him in the playground every day!!

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/02/2008 11:27

Did anyone else of my era think that TAB wasn't around in that form in 1981 ?? Marina ? (I know you aren't quite as old as me) - ??
Agree about there being something Keira Knightly-ish about Keeley Hawes...

SueBaroo · 08/02/2008 11:29

yes, Keira Knightly with breasts.

marina · 08/02/2008 11:33

I am wondering about that Tab thing too MaryAnn, but can't remember as I loathed the stuff and have possibly blanked it from my memory
I wonder what our scratch'n'sniff cards to accompany the series would feature...
Lavish use of Rive Gauche/Charlie for starters

CountessDracula · 08/02/2008 11:34

Well I do

Maybe I should tell him
He would run a mile I bet

foxinsocks · 08/02/2008 11:37

I think TAB was, wasn't it? I always thought it was such a pointless drink - basically brown, artificially sweetened water.

marina · 08/02/2008 11:38

what about...Cresca, was it? Grapefruit? Urgh

marina · 08/02/2008 11:38

Fresca?

SueBaroo · 08/02/2008 11:39

CD, you wicked woman See, that's why PG isn't Gene Hunt. Far too naive.

I'm now trying to decide whether or not Keeley Hawes has a better range than Keira Knightley, whose range is 'pouty and long-necked' all the way to 'whispering in a cut-glass accent'.

I do think Keeley wins, really.

foxinsocks · 08/02/2008 11:42

I really didn't think she was that great. She came across as quite emotionless imo.

I don't remember Fresca. I think you are exactly the same age as dh marina - we had a good reminisce last night! He was 18 in 1981 then and up to all sorts.

marina · 08/02/2008 11:44

Not in Edgbaston I hope

CountessDracula · 08/02/2008 11:47

CRESTA
It's frothy man

binkleandflip · 08/02/2008 11:52

this right, you are all lusting after this man??

binkleandflip · 08/02/2008 11:53

whoops!

binkleandflip · 08/02/2008 11:53

I dont get it.....

catsmother · 08/02/2008 11:54

Yeah - Fresca was grapefruit .... and, if memory serves, Tango in "those days" also came in grapefruit flavour ! (unless I am going senile).

Very weirdly, this quite upset me because 1981 was my O level year - at which I did well - and it all seems to have gone downhill since then ! Kinda proves that they captured the essence of 1981 well enough for me to get all maudlin and nostalgic about it just from clothes and music etc.

I liked the juxtaposition of "Vienna" and "Shaddup Your Face" ........ even 27 (27 !!) years on, I still get riled about the travesty that kept Ultravox off the top of the charts !

CountessDracula · 08/02/2008 11:56

ooh he has a blog!!!

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/02/2008 11:56

Tab came in a pink tin and was originally clear, then it was brown, but I'm sure it'd gone ( certainly in that packaging) by '81

MrsTweedy · 08/02/2008 11:59

Reading folders at dawn CD! I noticed PG wasn't in the playground this morning...funny as he usually was after LoM aired.

CountessDracula · 08/02/2008 12:00

Ah I didn't do school run this am

I saw you yesterday but you were in a coven so I slunk by

How are you?

catsmother · 08/02/2008 12:02

Well ..... according to the foodie bit on the TV Cream website, TAB was about from the 60s to 1981. Then it was relaunched in 1991, until 1992. The can was pink the 1st time rouns, then silver later. It was clear.

MaryAnnSingleton · 08/02/2008 12:05

well I never, thanks catsmother

MrsTweedy · 08/02/2008 12:13

Am v well thanks after a madly busy January with work. How are you?

Lol at coven!
