For the love of cheese - come on and vote mumsnet we cannot let Matt Hancock win I’m a celeb. He will be all over our tv about how the British public have forgiven him and this has been part of his redemption.

Nobody likes being told who to vote for, and with threads like this, it will just encourage people to vote for him. Personally, I've not seen any of the programme, and was horrified that he's doing this stunt when he's supposed to be working as an MP. However, if other people want to vote for him, why not?

Imagine if your best mate's husband was found to be fucking his colleague and embarrassed your best mate and her kids - you'd think he was a complete arsehole! I don't believe that MH is responsible for the deaths during covid. The deaths were caused by covid. The govt were responding to an unprecedented situation - I did not agree with the lockdown and personally think that young people's needs were ignored. As Minister of Health MH carried out the govt/BJ's directives.

As far as breaking the rules - he was working with people so I don't believe he broke the rule regarding the govt distance rules. As far as the morality of that there is question mark - but that is not relevant to his job or I believe the business of the public.

I think the point which is an issue is the fact he is a working MP and is in the jungle. Yet again there are many MPs doing second jobs and over an extended time - is this any different.

I am not defending MH - I have never voted tory but I am saying that things are seldom clear cut.

QT on Thursday was full of muppets saying his personality is not that bad because he's on that pathetic show that people watch for some unknown reason. Pretty sure if I left my job to go on a crappy programme then I'd be sacked.

At the end of the day, Matt Hancock was making decisions based on evidence that was being given to him. He's no more of an expert than any of the Covid experts we see on this thread. NOBODY could have predicted how the pandemic panned out Perhaps those slating him could try being an MP themselves?

He gave his mates millions of pounds with corupt intent - fraud, theft !!! How is that what you want from an MP, yes, i could do better. You dont need to be an expert to not do that 🙄

The actions re care homes and social distancing/ lockdown was a govt decision based on the advice given by scientist - I personally didn't agree with the actions but I accept the did not see the evidence that was presented.

It appears Matt should not be responsible for any covid failings, so we might as well just do away with the position of health Secretary! I don't even watch the show, but heard how he also mentioned he was merely a puppet and civil servants used him to get their policy through.
