You know what I mean. Woman gets an inn (left in a will/wins/buys). Goes to a quaint town. Meets attractive but annoying man blah blah.
Very cheesy but I like them! Is it too early to start watching them? I want to see them all! Anyone with me?

We play "Christmas Film Bingo" around the edges of the plot.
"Best hot cocoa in the world"? Tick.
"Upbeat version of Jingle Bells"? Tick.
"Leaves still on trees"? Tick.
"Snow round the edges only"? Tick...

You get the picture.

Raahh · 13/12/2022 09:34

Fuzzy it must always be cocoa too- never hot chocolate- and for some reason that annoys me Grin

I have peaked, I think. GrinI have now been watchingthe Xmas24 channels since October. The same films are all being repeated over and over again. And on Channel 5. I am noticing more and more are quite 'recent'.

But I am getting to the time when I allow myself to watch 'proper' Christmas films, though (Elf, IAWL, Miracle on 34th Street etc)I watched Nativity and Arthur Christmas very early on, however March. Grin.

FuzzyPuffling · 13/12/2022 11:08

Hello Raahh!
Yes, it is NEVER "hot chocolate". And always has to be covered in crap ( squirty cream and neon sprinkles) or person is accused of being The Grinch.

Raahh · 13/12/2022 11:24

GrinFuzzy- I've noticed a trend in adding candy canes to them.

I think I need a new hobby Grin

ShakeYourFeathers · 13/12/2022 23:28

I recommend A kind Hearted Christmas on Netflix just to watch two people navigating how to pull a cracker badly .

kateandme · 13/12/2022 23:40

I like a few of the hallmark hunks on Instagram.they are quite funny.seem like a genuinely good bunch.

kateandme · 13/12/2022 23:41

Movies 24 are showing a few 2022 movies now which is great.

kateandme · 13/12/2022 23:44

Ive seen a few ion and uptv channel ones now which are a bit more out there lol.
And Oprah tv usually does a batch for shouting out poc actors which is great.
Lifetime ones can be a carried lot too.

kateandme · 13/12/2022 23:45

Disappointed iv e not seen the one tree hill folk this year though!

Bemoreatticus · 14/12/2022 09:22

@ShakeYourFeathers Ha! I watched that yesterday and couldn't believe the cracker pulling. Nice to see Jennie Garth though, I remember her from Beverly Hills 90210.

dimples76 · 14/12/2022 09:30

I could not get over the cracker scene either! I thought otherwise the film was a bit dull

I did like the sentiment of the film though

I loved Kelly in 90210

'A Cinderella Christmas' in on now. Again. Emma Rigby (was teen actress in Hollyoaks- obviously thought it would be her big break across the pond) . It wasn't.
Very typical plot- identity mix ups, spoilt rich women, the whole Cinderella plot- it's very cringy. Grin

Christmas a la Carte last night. Won’t be the absolute end of the world if it doesn’t make it onto people’s viewing menu.

however 20 minutes into One December Night. Watching live as well! A very promising start.

Eloise Mumford is the lead, and for dog lovers I’d recommend from her Hallmarky back catalogue A Veterans Christmas.

Having four boys I’ve been subjected over the years to the full marvel and lord of the rings films / spinoff series. The lead man in this afternoon C5 offering is perhaps surprisingly one of the leads from Agents of Shield.

Ladytron11 · 14/12/2022 17:14

I watched Falling into Christmas yesterday - Lindsay Lohan’s latest - on Netflix. Predictable story but enjoyable & funny. I do like LL.

Frosty1000 · 14/12/2022 21:36

Highly recommend Christmas with you and holidate on Netflix - both very predictable but that's what I love 😍

MorrisZapp · 15/12/2022 08:47

I discovered a wonderful film last year, it's called One Special Night and it's free on YouTube. It stars Julie Andrews and James Garner as middle aged grumps trapped in a snowy cabin together. It is simply brilliant and such a class act from both of the leads.

@kateandme just been one on channel 5, an unexpected Christmas with Hayley from one tree hill.

ShakeYourFeathers · 15/12/2022 23:19

Watched Christmas with you on Netflix! Liked the story but not the execution

Rummikub · 16/12/2022 17:05

Watched the channel 5 one now. And it’s had me blubbing all the way through.

dimples76 · 16/12/2022 21:31

Have you seen 'I believe in Santa' on Netflix - it is v odd!

I loved Your Christmas or mine though - was a bit resistant at first as I am a sucker for the NYC/New England/Vermont etc settings

TheLostNights · 16/12/2022 22:41

Watched Angel falls Christmas (think that was the name of it) today. Was OK but have watched better. Favourite one so far has been the hot chocolate themed movie that was on channel 5.

Watched it tonight. Utterly dull with barely any plot, and very strange characters. The man was creepy and weird (probably not helped by looking like my ex) and the woman’s staring eyes freaked me out. Not sure how we got to the end.

Did enjoy Your Christmas or Mine.

dimples76 · 16/12/2022 23:50

And what about his clothes?!

Where the competing cafe owners were using the same secret recipe? That was a good one.
