You know what I mean. Woman gets an inn (left in a will/wins/buys). Goes to a quaint town. Meets attractive but annoying man blah blah.
Very cheesy but I like them! Is it too early to start watching them? I want to see them all! Anyone with me?

Just starting 'Tis the Season to be Merry on My5

The catchily named Travis van Winkle is our leading man, spectacular abs, alongside Rachael Leigh Cook.

Promising start....

Though not Christmas or Hallmark I quite enjoyed RLC's Love, Guaranteed on Netflix. If anyone needs a break from the candy cane rush.

FloresApparuerunt · 02/12/2022 21:58

Travis van Winkle

This is the sort of quality content I watch these films for.

One of Rip’s descendants presumably.

no time travel twist in the film yet😄

Watched 'A santa Fe Christmas' this evening. Was OK and watchable enough but do prefer the ones set in Vermont !

I'm watching Angel Falls Christmas. it is truly dreadful and full of cliches. I am loving it so much! Just the sight of the overdressed American houses and everyone wearing red and green throughout December really cheers me up!

That's exactly what my thoughts were like when I watched it the other night

I watched the Cinderella one yesterday-very enjoyable

@FloresApparuerunt what is Royally Wrapped? Is it Queen Amber?

Queen Rayna😂😂😂😂😂😂

‘Tis the Season…..after its promising start, was firmly no higher than Ok

however this evening Next Stop, Christmas is a possible classic for the genre. Though let’s not mistake that for worthy of an Oscar.

Time travel at Christmas always a promising start. Just going back 10 years and the plot is of course predictable.

However in a nice touch for a bit of time travel it has key supporting roles for not just, of Back to the Future fame, Christopher Lloyd, but also Lea Thompson.

Watched 'A Christmas in Graceland' this evening. Was very cringe but pretty good. Lead guy in it is very hot. Wes King I think his name was....

Where is everyone finding these films?

I watched Mistletoe Promise ( Prime) last night. It was fine 😀

Mainly through Prime or My5. There’s a number on iplayer now as well. Had an extra sub for a while to the Hallmark Channel but found it didn’t add new films that often. Probably as many Xmas ones available on My5 tbh.

I think the Mistletoe Promise is at the better end of the genre. Definitely enjoyed in this house.

One of the many joys of these films is who else turns up in them.

Mick from Brookside is the PE teacher in Saving Christmas Spirit.

a film remarkably similar to Christmas in the Highlands. Same Manor House, same snooker table, same reindeer. Perfumery replaced by a distillery. Possibly the same pub. Both have a damaged gingerbread house. Highland cattle may have blocked the road in each film. Watchable if you don’t set expectations too high.

Waterfallstop · 03/12/2022 23:54

Thanks - I've download the my5 app to my tablet. I'm sorted now!

I saw that one with mick from brook side too. I kept thinking why do I know that face!

JenniferWooley · 04/12/2022 06:44

I watched the new one on prime the other night - Your Christmas, Or Mine.

It was quite good. Young couple try to surprise each other & end up spending Christmas with each others families.

I saw that.

Well skimmed through-loathed the lead "actress"

Was slightly hungover yesterday so watched 3 of this type of movie

The holiday - a modern classic
The Noel diary- I love Justin Hartley from this is us. The actual movie was great but the ending was awful. Could have been 2hrs.
The Christmas tree farm - with LC. I quite liked it however, I didn't see the point of her boss being in it all the time. It wasn't obvious who she wouldn't end up with and normally that's decided in the 1st 2 mins of the movie

Has anyone heard of the Christmas Plus app? It’s completely legit and free and only has Christmas movies and show

TheLostNights · 06/12/2022 22:28

Christmas under wraps was tonight's film. Was OK. Not a favourite but watchable.

Agreed. My DH even enjoyed it.

Your Christmas or Mine on Amazon is very funny
a Hotel for the Holidays isn’t bad either 😁
