You know what I mean. Woman gets an inn (left in a will/wins/buys). Goes to a quaint town. Meets attractive but annoying man blah blah.
Very cheesy but I like them! Is it too early to start watching them? I want to see them all! Anyone with me?

Your Christmas or Mine enjoyed. Although there was a lot of "oh looks its....." in terms of the cast.

Through Prime (think it was onto ITVHub) watched Flight before Christmas, not quite as saccharine as many (at least not from the get go), and an almost acerbic script at times. Never going to be an Oscar winner, but worth a look.

Last night Hot Chocolate Holiday, nowhere near as bad as it might sound from the title.😀

ShakeYourFeathers · 08/12/2022 21:16

Just watched Santa Squad on Amazon prime. Anyone else watched it, thoughts???

Definitely watching your Christmas or mine this weekend.

And will be checking out all these other suggestions

Trudij123 · 08/12/2022 22:16

I didn’t mind Hot Chocolate Holiday either 🙂

Vanillalime · 09/12/2022 21:40

Watched Something From Tiffany’s tonight on Prime. Was actually really good. Decent script & well acted. Thumbs up from me!! 👍👍👍

Royally wrapped for Christmas. With Jen Lilley who is usually quite dependable. It is……not at the peak of the genre. Although the lead man could almost be a (bad) Prince / King Charles look alike, and despite the most wooden performance on screen, I really don’t think the word acting can be used, risk the first five minutes for that alone.

Taking the we’ve started so we’ll finish attitude here. Perhaps the last half hour will see a dramatic improvement.

TheLostNights · 09/12/2022 22:54

I enjoyed 'Hot chocolate holiday'

kateandme · 09/12/2022 23:12

@Vanillalime good recommendation!

Spent this evening watching love actually whilst wrapping presents and Your Christmas or Mine. I really enjoyed it. Fantastic cast.

FuzzyPuffling · 10/12/2022 08:05

DH and I both love these cheesy films. They are hilarious and dreadful and clichéd to the hilt.
We note that there are an awful lot of deceased moms in Vermont/ Maine.

But hurrah to finding my people.

FuzzyPuffling · 10/12/2022 08:07

I watched one last week where everything was peppermint flavoured and the woman lived at 1111 Peppermint Place.

Spectacularly bad! 😁

They are very much a guilty pleasure for me. Whilst I enjoy them and the story is easy to follow. I do poke the fun out of them a bit especially the very cheaply produced ones

KittensNotMittens · 10/12/2022 10:07

Wasn’t there one on every year with Johnny Denver?

Do you mean John Denver the singer?

I think he used to have a show & maybe there was a Christmas special?

I remember him in one Christmas film from the 80s I think.

I think he died before these films became "a thing"

diddl · 10/12/2022 15:21

Sorry, misread your post!

KittensNotMittens · 10/12/2022 15:28

No it was definitely a film! I think he plays a widow who ends up in (snowed in?) a sleepy wee town with his kid and everyone there believes in Santa.

JenniferWooley · 10/12/2022 15:57

@KittensNotMittens it's called The Christmas Gift but I don't think it's showing anywhere at the minute

Mirabai · 10/12/2022 16:03

I’ve watched these, they get slightly boring after a while.

My favourite not actually Hallmark but better - The Spirit Of Christmas with Jen Linley and Thomas Beaudoin. It’s on Amazon Prime. I watch it every year now. Lovely old house, real snow, and Thomas ain’t too bad either.

TheLostNights · 10/12/2022 22:50

Returning to Christmas creek was tonight's film. Pretty good.__

I liked that one

MrsMitford3 · 11/12/2022 21:23

Just watched This is Christmas today whilst wrapping presents.

It's a little weird seeing the actor who I last remember as Dean Thomas being a romantic lead but I admit it was good-and yes I cried a couple of times. Timothy Spall brilliant...

Def recommend

ShakeYourFeathers · 11/12/2022 22:12

Watched the the heart of Christmas or something like that on iplayer. I had watched it before I think in prime. It was alright fits the genre

kateandme · 11/12/2022 22:26

Watched a few more on you tube today.

SweetPeaPods · 13/12/2022 04:26

Love these films. Now on Mat leave and plan on watching as many as I can before school breaks up and I lose my peace. Already watched Your Christmas or mine and mistletoe promise plus a couple of others I can't even name.
Angel Falls Christmas is on todays to do list (Netflix has loads) but love hearing all the suggestions too.

Trudij123 · 13/12/2022 07:34

I took maternity leave a month early deliberately so I could watch them all ( DD was due in January!) 😁 worth it!!
