Megan and Bob last year seem to have been matched on the fact that they both liked musicals.

PJ seems a nice enough guy and so does Richie (in a bit of a cliched old rocker kind of way) but both of them still living "at home" with parents would be a massive turn off for me if I were their brides! Just huge.

Sad to see that Lara hadn't seen her parents for 5 years. That's a bit extreme if they are a close family. Canada isn't a million miles away.

I also noticed that April didn't seem close to her Dad (he said "hello stranger" when she walked into the cafe) and she didn't have many guests on her side at the wedding.

Just like last year, I'm already fuming at the ixperts smugly congratulating themselves on the matches when none of them make any sense at all to me! (with the exception of Chanita and her bloke I suppose).

PJ is presumably living with his parents after his relationship broke up so that's a bit different. I suspect Richie didn't earn much in his rocking days (or spent it all) and maybe his Reiki business failed due to lockdowns? If we find out he's been living with his parents since he left the band then I'd be a bit more concerned.

I wonder how they choose "contestants" and then pair them. Do you think they select, say 200 or 300 suitable candidates from auditions and then match the 8 couples from that 200/300 OR do they have a final 16 of successful auditionees and then make their couple from those?

I've finally caught up enough to join in! Really like Jordan and Chanita, April and George are shaping up to be the new Megan and Bob but less friendly, Thomas... I was rather hoping would melt), although what was with Adrian's mate? Jess is annoying, I can understand her discomfort over him stripping but her mum is SCARY and why does Jess need "looking after"? Guessing it's because she's quite immature.

Duka & Whitney are horrendous to watch though. She's continually picked him apart and he has been very patient despite her trying to wind him up. I noticed she mentioned he's different when the cameras are off and claims that people will "love" him and "hate" her and I also know that editing can really do a number on someone, but I think there might be a simple explanation here. You know when people pull small children aside for a word if they're being rude or hyper at an event? I wonder if he reminded her that she'd set herself up for a hatchet job and told her off a bit. Obviously I don't know what happened off camera and I'm trying to remember that and be fair when I watch them- especially as she's so clearly still grieving, but it's certainly coming across as she's trying to push all of his buttons. Whether because pushing people away is her thing or she's sulking that she didn't get a custom Ken doll I don't know, but she's certainly not coming over well.

I also hate the sulking over not getting a ridiculously specific wishlist catered for. Acknowledging that we all have things we find attractive or prefer in a relationship is one thing, but expecting the show to fulfil a stupidly specific list that has evidently eluded the contestants themselves thus far is ridiculous.

Good question as I was wondering if they were screen tested first. They’re all happy in front of a camera. I really wouldn’t be!

Talking about wigs .. I think the 2 girls are next and one of them has a secret ? I did wonder if the long haired girl was wearing a wig ? Would be typical of the producers to turn it into a massive drama , could she have alopecia ? And struggle to share with her new wife ..

I said exactly the same when I watched it. She's definitely wearing a wig (no hairline) and just like this program to make it a 'thing'.

I've just caught up and noticed a fair few posts saying 'I've just looked on Instagram....'. I know they might not seem like spoilers but some posters would rather just let it all play out rather than risk seeing anything that'll spoil the show. Especially as it's gonna be on until October.

@PoseyFlump I think it was more that spoilers were popping up on the Daily Mail sidebar of shame. They do every year. It's more of a warning to avoid.

Thomas is no way a mental health worker...he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near vulnerable adults (or kids).

Whitney is just a horrible, horrible person. I don't think anyone would be good enough for her. Whenever she listed what she was looking for she only mentioned physical characteristics.

I'd be really interested to know what Thomas does day to day at work, just because I know someone in real life who is a real stereotypical 'Lad' - loves his footie and his 90s Brit-pop, swills pints, swears like a sailor, huge personality, could come off as quite abrasive if people don't know him, but he works in an area of care (direct contact with recipients of care) and he absolutely shines at it, he's very highly respected and has been doing it a very long time.

Perhaps Thomas also has a very caring side underneath all the Botox and the glitter and the big mouth?

Yes, I think she underplayed this and was gaslighting George about there being anything off about it. No one would be happy with their partner snogging a stranger in a hot tub when they were on honeymoon! Absolutely no one! I also didn't have any patience for her "needing some space" on their honeymoon. They're bloody married! What does she think this is, online dating?

How much actual time was there between April wanting space and the hot tub kiss I wonder 🤔 She's making a fool out of George. Maybe the penny will drop for him that he's just a ladder rung on her rise to fame.

Hopefully, she'll be forgotten quickly and the only gigs she will get will be as a lookalike for actress Eleanor Tomlinson.

I feel tricked by April, never mind George feeling it! I had such high hopes for them and then off she goes, snogging strangers in the hot tub and gaslighting him into agreeing it's ok. Although I cannot wait until that comes out at the group counselling sessions or the first meal. George is going to very quickly realise that most people don't snog someone else on their honeymoon. 😀
