Be still my gnarly black heart. Love fest ‘coming soon’.

Get your pouts ready for the ‘gram and your flags at the ready 🇬🇧

I forgot to apply. But no doubt that will be a relief for the Producers.

There ain’t enough satin in the world to cover this harris.

And the veil could never hide my face well enough to stop my groom doing a Julia Roberts.

Maybe next time….

it is on four times a week from Monday to Thursday.
No episodes on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

There's 30 episodes in total this year so we're in for the long haul until mid October.

yellowsmileyface · 02/09/2022 11:00

Nice! That's my weeknight evenings sorted then. This is my first time watching it as it airs so I just presumed it would be on weekly.

Twonewcats · 02/09/2022 11:30

Re Pjay, which incidentally is such an odd way for him to spell PJ 🤣. I am so not bothered about anyone choosing to be a stripper. BUT I don't think that I'd be ok with my husband going out every weekend evening and stripping for others, so I get where she's coming from.

Also, a couple of the men this year have been very keen compared to the women.

I often think the grooms get the best deal on this, as the brides will look out of this world, preened and pampered, whereas the groom looks the same as always, but just wearing a fancy suit. However, I can imagine the huge disappointment when she then wakes up the next morning with pillow hair and mascara under her eyes 🤣

I had some wistful thoughts about Troy eating a tin of tuna before his wedding, then his foamy OTT tooth brushing 🙈

Smorgasbordbaby · 02/09/2022 11:59

Jess literally says literally every other literal word literally. I think I might literally want to literally punch her by the literally second dinner party literally.

PutinIsAWarCriminal · 02/09/2022 12:37

@Twonewcats I actually thought it must be short for something unusual and pronounced Jay, with the P being silent. The penny dropped when the commentator said PJ!

Sunbird24 · 02/09/2022 12:49

@PutinIsAWarCriminal well that’s completely changed the way I read your username in my head! 😂

Doubleraspberry · 02/09/2022 12:55

Online diagnoses are never ideal but I did wonder whether Lara son has ASD. She referred to him being a bit different when he was sitting with the other lads, and his very literal take on the comment about taking her out for a walk. I have a teenager with ASD myself and it did strike a chord of recognition.

dapsnotplimsolls · 02/09/2022 13:00

Dammit, I forgot it wasn't shown on Fridays - just when we need it!

I thought the same.

I like him, he's clearly bored with the revolving door of men.

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 02/09/2022 14:01

May I join you lot? I’ve been reading but not commenting. You’ve been marking me laugh till I thought my knickers would never dry.

And to the PP with the discussion about potential ASD. That’s exactly what I got when I saw him, a chime of recognition. I’ve got a 14 year old DS with ASD ( we say Aspie ‘cos I’m old school but not everyone is😀)
I don’t know about this young man tho ofc but we might have some cracking telly if he is on the spectrum. My DS is very , very funny and his lack of filter can make for some amusing moments . I do find it refreshing when people say it like it is but without any malicious intention.
(I do hope I’ve come across the way I mean to, I’m mid assessment for ASD myself)

Notcoolmum · 02/09/2022 14:02

I liked the son too. I have a son of a similar age and he'd be massively uncomfortable appearing on tv and meeting a man his mum has just married for the first time. The comment about putting his mum on a lead was awful and I wonder if this is the tip of the iceberg with Richie's (?) views on women. I can see why a man with a failed marriage who might have 'lost' the house through divorce would end up at home. But 51 with no dependents etc is a little odd. Lara will soon get fed up I think as she's supported and brought up her family by herself.

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 02/09/2022 14:04

i like Lara a lot but my God she’s going to struggle with this chap. He’s basically just a bundle of red flags with a massive barnet.

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 02/09/2022 14:08

I dated someone similar and fuck me it was like I’d gone on that BBC2 programme “how they lived in the 1970s).

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 02/09/2022 14:14

I was thinking about that too @Notcoolmum . Regardless of ASD or not I do sometimes struggle with letting teenagers go on reality programmes like this. I imagine the weirdness of your mum marrying some “old has been” must be so weird that the filming bit might even seem normal. Plus this generation have a different relationship with media in general and are more savvy.
But yes my DS would happily be on a tv programme and would undoubtedly say something wildly inappropriate. For this reason I’m not planning on doing anything telly related. Ever.

He doesn't seem that bad to me, but you do wonder what we don't know about his story to explain not ever being in love and living at home by age 51.

I always want to think the best of people, and overestimate their capacity to change, but maybe he wants to change the direction of his life?

Yamyam13 · 02/09/2022 14:53

Love Lara. She seems really fun & genuine.
Richie... giving me the ick already.

Jess & her Mum - really disappointing they were so shallow and plain rude.

PJ seems like a proper sweetheart and did not deserve to be treated like that. He was so gracious about it. I would have told to them both to fucking do one and stop being so stuck up.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 02/09/2022 15:27

Anyone else think Richie has got a wig on? Hope Lara doesn’t get a shock later she’s mentioned hair being important a few times! And her mum.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 02/09/2022 15:30

Jess mum is so rough … cringing

tellyiscrap · 02/09/2022 17:12

I too wondered this 👨‍🦲👨‍🦱

GinnyJelly · 02/09/2022 19:39

Probably a wig, I did notice when they showed his brother that the brother is totally bald. I think it’s really unfair of the show to put someone together with a 51 year old that still lives with his parents. They should be weeding anyone out like this, everyone has negatives but anything major should rule people out (and this is a major problem).

tellyiscrap · 02/09/2022 19:44

Talking about wigs .. I think the 2 girls are next and one of them has a secret ? I did wonder if the long haired girl was wearing a wig ? Would be typical of the producers to turn it into a massive drama , could she have alopecia ? And struggle to share with her new wife ..
I may be talking absolute crap and if so please ignore

OnTheBrinkOfChange · 02/09/2022 19:58

Hang on, what have you all been watching? I watched something which only had two couples on and was just at the start of lockdown. It was on the main page on All 4 and I completely fell for it!

tellyiscrap · 02/09/2022 20:03

E4 Monday to Thursday 2100 !

burnoutbabe · 02/09/2022 20:04

One if the aus older ladies wore a wig I think due to hair loss? Didn't seem to be an issue. And I'd hope they wouldn't refer to that, as a "deep dark secret"

I also very much hope the secret isn't that they are a trans woman. Though looks wise they appear not. If they were becoming a trans man that would also be very inappropriate to marry someone whilst going through that process.
