In honour of the finale, can we have a thread about the most memorable moments over the years? I haven't watched for many years now but as a kid it was on every single day.

Moments/characters I remember:

A spider falling into someone's from above the mirror in the car making her accelerate and knock down and kill another character (I think it was Cheryl?)

Joe Mangles dog Bouncer.

Joe Mangle's wife dying by being shot at in some sort of duck enclosure (I was very young for that one so could have got that wrong).

Fancying Billy and Lance and having posters of them on my bedroom wall.

A curly haired, husky voiced girl being shot. Was she called Cody?

A wheeler dealer character called Lou.

Anyone else?!

I forgot about Doug and Pam! Wasn't he played by Jason Donovan's dad?

I remember Paul and Gail, didn't they have twins of their own and someone died? (Either Gail or one of babies) I just have this image of Paul crying and two big teddies in background.

Possibly not (OK, definitely not) best moments but they are slightly oddly the moments I recall

Harold accidentally eating meat in a salad. He didn't know what it was, but announced it was delicious, only to be told it was ham.

Mrs Mangel holding her handbag upside down (open) to avoid it being stolen. This was on the advice of a character who's name I can't recall, but he had a nefarious past and may have been in prison 😮. Anyway, everything kept falling out of her bag, oddly enough, with it being open and upside-down.

Plain Jane and possibly Mike getting stranded somewhere. My details on this are vague; but it was night and they were outside. Mike suggested the sleep close to each other for body heat. Was very scandalous. (Can't recall of Jane was plain, or had become beautiful by then.)

Brings back so many memories of growing up in the 80's! Did anyone else have the yellow neighbours book? I used to watch after school and at lunchtime if I was off school poorly, going for gold was on afterwards ! Joe mangle actor mark little used to live in Brighton, I remember seeing him in the car next to mine at the traffic lights and he was grinning as if to say 'yes it's joe mangle !' Was stunned to discover that the Mrs mangle actress was living in the next town to me in Sussex when she died a few years ago!

Sudden memory of Cody the second wearing a fake beard to play cricket in the men's team.

I remember the Scully family - Joe Scully disappeared one day and turned up in a Sheila’s Wheels advert. And then a family turned up to live with them one day - I think the mum was Janelle and the daughter was Janae and she went out with a boy called Boyd? I think Janae had other siblings too

Stingray was a sibling of Janae so they must have been related to Toadie somehow (fish nicknames). Bree and Dylan were the other siblings.

Todd was one of my first crushes and I had the video of his death episode on VHS and watched it on repeat. I remember he was rushing to get to the abortion clinic, spotted Phoebe outside who told him she hadn't gone through with it, and was then hit by a car

It was Boyd and Summer Hoyland, their dad married Steph Scully, who was previously left at the altar by a man who was having an affair with her sister Flick

I stopped watching when Drew died. I was gutted. I loved Libby and Drew.

Julie and phill who were Hannah and Debbie’s parents. Julie jumped or fell out of a window and died in hospital?

Definitely. Gail got pregnant with triplets through ivf but then moved to Tasmania i think. The triplets were born off screen. Paul went to visit them once but then we never heard about them again

Yes. Julie was Paul/Scott/Lucy’s elder sister and I think was a bit mentally unstable. She def fell off a roof or something like that.

Yes! I was confused earlier I thought Todd had a relationship with Cody. Perhaps that was before Phoebe.

Wasn't that Home and Away? Or did they just use the storyline in both?

Just watching the episode before the finale. Been very confused did not recognise izzy, Joel or Melanie from back in the day. Thought Mal was Karl and he just aged well. And I may be really thick but is Karl Kennedy now played by another actor?

Just figured out who Shane Ramsey is too!!

No, Karl is still played by Alan Fletcher. But he has alopecia and looks very different now!

Yes Gail was Paul’s first wife wasn’t she?

Gail was Paul's second wife. He was married to Terry before that.

I’ve just remembered another character called Paul that used to live with Harold - he was fostered by him I think and used to play an electric guitar while Harold played the tuba

The triplets came back as teens. One of them pretended to be the other boy one and was evil, he murdered the good one, went to prison, got let out and held Susan’s niece hostage when she was in labour. His daughter (with Denise van Outen whose acting was AWFUL) was played by Jason Donovan’s daughter. The girl one moved to New York. Does that make sense?

The girl, Elle, was in it for a while when she was in her 20s I guess.
One of the boys went evil and I think was responsible for bombing the plane that everyone on the street was on and killing basically all of Harold's family. Can't remember the other triplet really although I think the evil one may have stolen his identity for a bit. He was killed accidentally by Max Hoyland.

So many funny memories on here! I remember Daphne being a stripper and she was hired for Des' stag do (think it was Des' but that marriage obviously didn't happen) and she started going out with Shane before moving on to Des. Also remember the original Scott - I thought he was gorgeous.
