Can we have a thread about the best Neighbours moments?

In honour of the finale, can we have a thread about the most memorable moments over the years? I haven't watched for many years now but as a kid it was on every single day.

Moments/characters I remember:

A spider falling into someone's from above the mirror in the car making her accelerate and knock down and kill another character (I think it was Cheryl?)

Joe Mangles dog Bouncer.

Joe Mangle's wife dying by being shot at in some sort of duck enclosure (I was very young for that one so could have got that wrong).

Fancying Billy and Lance and having posters of them on my bedroom wall.

A curly haired, husky voiced girl being shot. Was she called Cody?

A wheeler dealer character called Lou.

Anyone else?!

I had to stop watching it when it moved to channel 5 as the area in which I lived at the time didn’t pick up channel 5….I was devastated 😂

I have this really vivid memory of Paul and Gail finally kissing after months of will they won't they, and being emotionally overwhelmed! I think it must have been at a time when my teenage hormones were going rampant!

I do also vaguely remember the twins- Caroline and Christina? but have no idea how it went from Paul and Gail to Paul and a twin...

Daphne giving birth with her tights on!

The two lines I remember most are “Yer dad’s dead, Des” and “You murderer! You’ve eaten Rupert, my rabbit!” Can’t remember the context of either…

I think that was Lou Carpenter's daughter Lauren and she ended up getting chlamydia and pelvic inflammatory disease and ended up infertile or something! Enough to put the teens off casual sex!!

@HaveringWavering I can’t remember which way round but gail/gillian and Caroline/Christina were the twins - one set was their real names!

Stingray -(Scott he might have also been called?) dying in the street surrounded by his family who were just partying around him

The relationship between toadie and karl/Susan.

Does anyone remember Josh he was in it when Todd and first time Cody was in it ? He was a big crush of mine

I'm positive there was a character called Gail who was not one of the twins. It's a very vivid memory!

Yes Gail was Paul’s first wife wasn’t she?

Sonya dying. The whole run up to that with the evil nanny.

Susan slapping Karl and her rawness was phenomenal

Paul and Christina's honeymoon when Melanie ended up going with them and slept at the end of their bed

Yes. She was called Kerry.

Skye was a little blonde toddler who was bitten by a redback once and then returned as an attractive teenager years later. She was quite a big character second time round.

Gail was Paul's second (??) wife.

I think the twins in real life were called Gayle and Gillian Blakeney (??) and they had a really forgettable single, bad even by Neighbours actor standards.

Annalise did not appear.

I'm pretty sure Billy Kennedy was one of the video slots.

I had forgotten Marlene and her upsettingly awful eye bags.

I remember Daphne dying and saying I love you Clarky to Des as her final words

loved the finale this evening!

I was a big Neighbours fan back in the day but I don't remember any of these!

Madge dying and sonia's diagnosis and death were both heartbreaking. Eve morey is a fab actress.

I'd forgotten about Sonya, she was such a good character (and great actress) and it was so sad her dying on the beach with Toadie. Was it ovarian cancer?

Billy was in the video (was the one with the bridge behind him)

I’m sure Paul was married to one of the twins, but was having it off with the other. I still remember them lip curling and all the drama.

Neighbours used to be on twice a day. Once at lunchtime and then at half 5? Before the 6 o’clock news.

I really couldn’t stand it when Harold ‘died’ and then he came back. It was all a bit weird that. That and when Toadies wife died when the car fell off the cliff.

Toadies brother was Stonefish wasn't he? I think he was with Cody?

Doug and Pam!! I think they might have lived at the Kennedys house before them?

Lance and Billy were both in the zoom clip scene. They used to be a bit of a foursome - Lance and Amy, Billy and his gf - was she called Anne?

Does anyone remember a little lady with typical 80s style mullet hair and suits? Might have been something to do with the Daniels family? I think she was the one who ran Cheryl over in the spider incident.

Also the tiny checked dresses from Erinsborough High...

Baby Skye getting locked in Harold's bathroom and him trying to get her out
Susan being a surrogate for Libby and someone but she fell over at a nature reserve (?)
Annaliese, Luke and Serendipity living together and Luke had cancer, maybe
Drew dying at the rodeo

@Scabbersweasley do you mean Helen Daniels? Died on the sofa watching Charlene's wedding video, surrounded by the Martin family?
And Liliana, David and the daughter who's name I can't remember, dying in a plane crash. David was Harold's son I think.
Paul losing his leg. Had his missing leg ever been mentioned since?

Several years ago I read an article along the lines of "what I've learned about Australia from Australian soaps" which had some classic neighbours stuff in such as:

GPs in Australia also work in hospitals and are able to specialise in obstetrics and brain surgery (Dr Karl)

Australian health care is so good that, only a few weeks after you've had your leg amputated, you will be walking and even running again as though you never really lost it (Paul Robinson)

If you're lost in the Bush, your sibling will be able to sense where you are, even if several episodes later it turns out that you aren't really siblings at all (various characters)

Australian schools have incredibly small classes, often with only 10 pupils.

There were lots more examples but I can't remember them all.
