Macca got everyone talking so the old thread is full! Here's part two still lots of good stuff to come on Sunday 😃

Thanks to you lot I found the amazing Gabriels this morning. What a fantastic set.

JaneJeffer · 26/06/2022 12:51

What was nice last night was nobody on the thread saying 'I'm superior because I know more about music in general or this artist in particular than you', just enjoying chatting and having a laugh.

I’m having a break this morning / afternoon and watching athletics - faves so far have been Noel Gallagher , Griff , Olivia Rodrigo and Rufus Wainright . I wish they had a stream for the Avalon stage as that is where most people I’d like to see have been , no doubt showing my age !

Cassimin · 26/06/2022 12:56

JaneJeffer
exactly this, must have been the glasto vibe (or the booze)

JaneJeffer · 26/06/2022 13:00

Wow they have too much energy.

Catching a bit of Haim over lunch. I like them!
In fact I've really been struck this year by the number of female rockers.
And loved Saint Etienne yesterday - a blast from my past

BoomVan · 26/06/2022 13:12

Can I just say it's Idles and Foals - not The Idles and The Foals 😁

Watching Foals now. Stopped listening to them years ago but will have to catch up with their newer material as it's a good set so far.

the80sweregreat · 26/06/2022 13:16

I'm being flamed today ! 😂 rightly so ..

Róisín Murphy's band are good.
Ds2 saw her live pre covid times. Said she was great.
Foals won me over , I've heard a few tracks but wasn't keen until I watched them yesterday
The leader singer is very charismatic.

watcherintherye · 26/06/2022 13:17

The dc always seem to find it hilarious if I insert an extraneous ‘The’ in front of a group’s name!

FunnysInLaJardin · 26/06/2022 13:17

Paul M was self indulgent dirge IMO. Not a fan at all.

However YungBlud was something else. Absolutely brilliant. Fab mix of Nirvana, The Cramps, punk and a bit of Mick Jagger for good measure.

the80sweregreat · 26/06/2022 13:27

Yungblud ( not THE Yungblud) ..
I couldn't get over how much he resembles Gary Newman in the looks / hair kind of way ( not musically )

Yes, he really did. Real retro early 80s punk vibe. Right up my street!

JaneJeffer · 26/06/2022 13:30

The Gary Newman the80s

The Gary Newman the80s

😂

BoomVan · 26/06/2022 13:33

😁 it makes a sincere opinion sound so Partridge - it's amusing! All in good jest @the80sweregreat

the80sweregreat · 26/06/2022 13:35

Idles did look like the kind of people who hadn't paid for their expensive ticket and climbed over the fence to get in ! The mosh pit liked them though.

the80sweregreat · 26/06/2022 13:36

I know ! I don't care about a flaming to be honest , I am a musical lightweight I admit it 😂

QuebecBagnet · 26/06/2022 14:01

Oh wonder who the secret act is going to be.

QuebecBagnet · 26/06/2022 14:03

Oh George ezra. I was hoping for Johnny Depp. 😆

fussychica · 26/06/2022 14:06

Just caught up with last night's Jessie Ware set. Blew me away, so slick, like going to a proper concert. Love her to bits, such a great voice.

CuriousCatfish · 26/06/2022 14:10

I'm not a fan of George Ezra.

the80sweregreat · 26/06/2022 14:11

I've never heard of Jessie Ware , but I'm enjoying her set and she is very good.
Her dancer with (the) glitter ball is easy on the eye too.

the80sweregreat · 26/06/2022 14:12

Jessie Ware has a 70s feel to her music.
She seems nice too

faffadoodledo · 26/06/2022 14:13

George Ezra seems like a nice you g man. I can see how he's seen as a bit too safe tho. My old mum loved him! Might be why I have a soft spot.

QuebecBagnet · 26/06/2022 14:20

He’s a bit dull isn’t he. Easy, unoffensive listening.
