Brother mentioned ep 2 but a lot of inference required to figure out that was him at the bar.

LadyEloise1 · 21/06/2022 17:48

I didn't know it was St Clair's brother Shock

DuncinToffee · 21/06/2022 18:04

I am only just catching up with the thread and missed the mentioning of his brother a few days ago. Makes sense now, thanks.

I do like the style of music at the end

cakeorwine · 21/06/2022 21:04

Is this going to be a murder an episode?

Rabidturnip · 21/06/2022 21:43

Anyone think the spy cop could be a woman? I haven’t read the whole thread, so apologies if this has been mentioned

Halsall · 21/06/2022 21:46

DH and I are invested in this now but what’s bothering me is this…..if the headteacher is the girl who was in flashback with young Robert Glenister, why does she look 20 years younger than him? I honestly thought Jacob had to be her son but it seems he’s her (philandering) partner. He looks too young as well!

cakeorwine · 21/06/2022 21:47

I see he's managed to get past the phone security.

Howeverdoyouneedme · 21/06/2022 21:48

Why did they give a warning of suicide at the beginning?

Don Gilet is older (55) than he looks. His screen wife is 50.

Robert Glenister is 65

AlecTrevelyan006 · 21/06/2022 21:52

Sorry - Glenister is 62

UrsulaPandress · 21/06/2022 22:00

Is it on next week?

WingingItSince1973 · 21/06/2022 22:01

I really dont understand what's going on 🤣 I've read up on the real life crimes its loosely on. Still don't get it xx

Penguinsaregreat · 21/06/2022 22:12

I'm really enjoying this, quite different from the usual gore fest and so glad we aren't seeing bodies on slabs cut from top to bottom.

the80sweregreat · 21/06/2022 22:18

The last two episodes are on next week
It is different and those arrows are horrible :(
I wonder if Helen is the spy ?
Some great acting from everyone.

ButtonSister · 21/06/2022 22:22

Is Helen St Clair Dorothy Wordsworth?
And in an area of countryside so big that 100's of police fail to find either the archer or the train driver what a coincidence those 2 and 2 campers all end up in the same spot.

newnamethanks · 21/06/2022 22:34

I like the solicitor. Spot on as to spycops. I remember the miners strike and the animosity of the NUM for the Notts miners who were clearly being encouraged/funded by fans of Maggie. If those divisions still exist it wouldn't surprise me, the Met police were famously brutal, bussed in with no family connections. And how topical. Boris doing an NUM lite today 🚂 This is reasonable tv drama.

PuppyMonkey · 21/06/2022 22:40

Lindsay Duncan stole the whole show, fantastic scene with her as the NUM solicitor. Made me go a bit goose bumpy.

Yes I suggested mrs swallow ages ago. Or the dead mrs fisher!

I do wonder why the parents on their cruise are not back yet. Surely it would be on news and one can watch bbc news on cruises. Or get newspapers abroad. I assume the male must be the dead guys son (as daughters name is also Jackson) but why hide them? Is the mother going to be the illegitimate child of London guy and head teacher?

JellyBellyNelly · 22/06/2022 05:54

I’m finding this very interesting because I’ve not lived in the Uk for decades.

When the man in the care home quoted the poetry it reminded me that St Clair also quoted some poetry in the last episode I think it was. Is there any chance that he’s dodgy. Also thought the poetry recited in this episode spoke of someone building an empire out of misery and isn’t that what St Clair has done?
Dont mind me though if I’m talking nonsense 🙈

I think they’re going to walk in at the end and a lot is going to fall into place as a wee extra to the going’s on.

the80sweregreat · 22/06/2022 06:24

I wonder if the contestant on the pointless episode they showed very briefly on the tv recognized themselves! Would he get paid a fee ?
That was a strange scene plus I hate it went people put hot mugs onto a surface without a coaster ..
I know it was meant to be very serious , but it really was ' his behind you' moment with Andy and the arrow man. A gogglebox moment!
They really hate the Met police don't they ? Some things have never changed.
I am still confused by some of the relations and dynamics.

the80sweregreat · 22/06/2022 06:40

Why is Helen's file restricted ?
The one who shot himself was very dodgy , although not the spy I assume.
