When Nancy and Robin visit Victor, he tells them that he ordered a shelling on a house that he thought had the enemy in. He then tells them that he was wrong, as he entered the house to find a burning cot with a baby in it.

That scene distressed me too.

Yeah that happened but then as @Slowgrowingelm says, at the ending of ep7, I'm sure he told 011 it didn't actually happen (the baby in the fire)... I'll need to watch it again too to find out haha

There's quite a few English actors in ST, Jonathan, Eleven, Vecnor and Eddie are all played by English actors/actresses.

Charlie Heaton has done well for himself, it sounds like he found acting by chance rather than plan as well. He needs to be careful he doesn't bugger it all up though as he was recently stopped with cocaine on him trying to get through an airport 🙄

Not really recently, It was 2017. Plenty of actors have been arrested for drug possession and it's not gone on to affect their careers. He wasn't even charged. The more controversial history about Charlie is he has a child with a woman 13 years older than him, who he met when he was 16 and she was 30.

Blimey i knew he had a child but didn't know about the age difference!!

I just joined to say this, I just finished watching Stranger Things 4 last night. I have been thinking about it a lot since, and reading about it too, now that I no longer need to avoid spoilers! I have read this thread, particularly the astonishment (!) from one poster that Elle's real name is Jane.

My name is Jane, I was a teen at the time period covered in Stranger Things. I was one of three Janes in my class! I am into myths, words, etc.

So, I was walking around the house this morning, thinking about the name Jane.

Then it struck me!

SPOILER????

My name, Jane, is derived from the name of the god, Janus.

THE ROMAN GOD OF DOORWAYS!!!

So, you see, it makes PERFECT sense.

Note for other word people, the month, January, is named after the same god, because January is the doorway linking the old year to the new.

Doorway=gateway=portal

I thought Jane had the same roots as John - so ‘god is gracious’ rather than being derived from Janus. I think a bit of over crediting there possibly. Would be cool if they’d thought it out like that though! But I presumed they had just picked names they thought were relatively ‘old fashioned.’

I've been rewatching the whole
Lot before 1st July. I thought S4 was more scary than ever but since watching I've changed my mind! Omfg S3 is gruesome!!

Just finished season three again and forgot how emotional it is

So so excited for Friday we're having pizza tea in front of the tv with banana splits for pud in honour of Scoops Ahoy. I've managed to get a Hellfire Club T shirt for DD, can't wait to see her face.

I'm such a saddo 😁

A couple of observations for me as to why this programme is up there for me as some of the best tv ever made ...

1. considering they're quite young the Duffer Bothers have clearly put so much love and time in making it authentically 80's. There are so many moments when I'm reminded of being that age at that time. Mrs Wheeler reminds me of my mum is lots of ways then too - the changing hair and Tupperware especially!

2. I love the use of synthesiser original music plus some actual 80s tracks thrown in.

3. like a pp up thread mentioned it's so good to have something we can all watch together.

I've not had a fuzzy glow from tv in a while.

@tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz you have totally inspired me to make banana splits on Friday! I've been hunting round the charity shops looking for suitably sized vessels for them but no luck so far.

Although sadly we can't all watch together as my 6 and 10 year old find it too scary. So my tween will probably start binge watching as soon as she is home from school!

I can see Netflix freezing at 3.30pm Friday!!

I think we'll have to do banana "chop" instead of splits as we also don't have the right dishes.

It's an inset day at DD's school on Friday so my plans of binging it while she wasn't in have gone out the window (she's 5 so far too little for stranger things) so instead I plan to get her in bed, get a pizza and make a night of it in the evening. 😁😁

i remember banana splits always had a sprinkle of hundreds and thousands probably made of dangerous chemicals on top.

Plenty of ketchup on them obviously, except instead of pouring it from the bottle normally you all have to drip it while holding the bottle up under your nose and call it ‘nosebleed sauce.’

Don't worry, not posting any spoilers. Worked late last night to take a longer lunch so I watched the first episode of vol 2.

As expected, most of the action has been saved for episode 2 which I'll be watching tonight!!
