If anyone needs another reason to avoid online dating, this takes it to another level! It's hard to believe this guy got away with it for so long.

Diamond billionaires have an army of bodyguards around the.whole family 24/7. It is one one of the dirtiest and most dangerous ways of how ppl become rich therefore an army of professional bodyguards nonstop. There is no way he could be in that sort of trouble as he tried to portray. Also his "billionaire daddy" could help him out etc if/when in trouble. Those billionaires are covered and protectes at all times, no need to ask girlfriend for any sort of help. Also billionaires are not on tinder, no way. They can afford to buy the most beautiful models, women in the whole world. They would be rather registered with discreet billionaires match making dating services. All red flags.....however Dutch girl Ayleen rocks! And was very brave..... Shimon is however free as a bird, with new hot gf, running new "business" and those poor victims will be paying off the debts for rest of their lives.

"I can’t bear to watch another man fuck another woman over. Honestly, I worry that all these many many TV shows about men killing/ abusing/ ripping off women are causing us to see it as entertainment rather than to question why SO many men feel such hatred towards women.
It’s disturbing."

I totally agree. They were afraid in the end and he was an evil little shit.

There is no justice for them.

"Seems he's still getting away with it. Only served 5 months out of a 15 year sentence, is dating a model, spending like there's no tomorrow and openly running a business."

You are right he does seem to be getting away with it still but his sentence was only for 15 months, he was proseccuted for what happened in Israel only by the looks of it.

"Shimon was sentenced to 15 months in prison in Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court in late 2019 but was reportedly granted release after just five months following prison attempts to reduce the number of inmates due to COVID-19 outbreaks."

I wonder if he had swindled money off rich guys he would have been allowed to get away with it so easily.

Namaste6 · 06/02/2022 04:10

@MrsDThomas Ditto!

MrsLargeEmbodied · 06/02/2022 07:17

so awful that he has got away with this, using a ponzo system,
using one girl to pay for the trips,
until she becomes wise, then the next girl.
well done to the dutch lady, and all three who appeared on the TV
the banks dont care where they get their money back from!

MrsLargeEmbodied · 06/02/2022 07:19

ponzi

Carolbaskinstiger · 06/02/2022 07:22

To be fair to the women, the scam was pretty slick. If someone takes you on a private jet - you’re going to assume they have money.
And he seemed to wait a good six months before starting to ask for money.

We’re they a little bit naïve - yes, but lots of people are.

Lolamento · 06/02/2022 07:48

I watch it and was thinking someone with that level of wealth and background. They do probably do not use Tindle. The whole thing is disgusting 🤢

userxx · 06/02/2022 07:49

@MrsDThomas

I watched this earlier. These girls are absolutely stupid. Totally. Think they’re on to a good thing.

Its that old cliché isnt it? If it sounds too good to be true……

I wouldn't say stupid, more gullible. The Norwegian girl was desperate to find love, that was her downfall.

Lolamento · 06/02/2022 07:52

I always feel suspicious of all this wealthy man I see in Europe. Russian type models and inviting everyone they just met. This is very revealing of someone who did not work hard to get the money.

Lolamento · 06/02/2022 07:53

Money launderers, drugs and all kind of dodgy people.

LittleSnakes · 06/02/2022 08:27

I remember watching Beauty and the Beast when I was a kid. Loved it. So romantic. I rewatched it with my kids as an adult and fucking hell! The Beast is abusive. He locks her dad up when he’s asking for help. Then he locks her up instead. Then he shouts and breaks stuff and is frightening. He refuses to let her eat unless she eats with him. But don’t worry, all is fine in the end because Belle is nice and kind and this changes him. Which obvs doesn’t actually happen in real life.

Frollop · 06/02/2022 08:58

People are attracted to a lifestyle and this is what he takes advantage of.
I'm sure the 'bodyguard', ex etc are all on his payroll to help with the deception.
He is an awful person who does not seem to have any feelings of guilt.
Feel sorry for the victims and im sure there will be more sadly....

WhatAWasteOfOranges · 06/02/2022 09:22

Israel will never extradite its citizens either so now he’s there he will never have to face what he’s done

sashagabadon · 06/02/2022 09:31

Does he have to stay in Israel? I.e will be arrested by n other countries? That but is not clear. He was so international and commuting his crimes in so many countries that it’s not clear who would prosecute him?
Like the woman from Oslo, she lived in London, so would the U.K. be the country to prosecute him for the money she gave to him but she gave it willingly albeit under false pretences.
If he does just stay in Israel he will soon run out of victims as it was the internationalness of his scam that allowed him to get away with it.

Seema002 · 06/02/2022 09:52

I felt sorry for the women, but they fell for it because of their own greed.

The Norwegian woman was kissing him on the cheek on his private jet on their first date and saying she felt this 'connection'. Like the connection had nothing to do with the private jet. Hmm Did she not wonder why a billionaire would suddenly have his head turned by a pretty, but average looking woman?

The whole thing just showed them up for being vaccous and vain.

The older Swedish woman (claiming to be 31 Confused) was hanging in the sidelines being a hanger on of this lifestyle. All that talk of being an independent woman was BS.

I feel very sorry for the woman, particularly the Norwegian woman who ended up £250k in debt. That's shocking. But, seriously?

I wonder what the crime would be? Fraud? Impersonation?

I think even if he was prosecuted, it would be hard for the women to get their money back because they willingly took out the loans in their own names. It's not the bank's problem if they were taken in by a professional con artist.

To be fair, he was pretty average looking too. His flashy personality would put me off right away.

Meowwwww. Saucer of milk for you.

mirabellemadrigal · 06/02/2022 10:49

@Seema002

I Am inclined to agree

Normally i wouldn't blame the victim but why did that woman get on the plane when they had only just met. They only dated about a month before he asked her to move in

His pics would have put me off a date in the first place. It is hard to understand how they liked him to begin with. He seemed like a creep

mirabellemadrigal · 06/02/2022 10:53

Note that his clothes were totally garish with large visible logos. He needed the girls to see how he only wore LV or other brands. He didnt wear low key but expensive clothes like a real rich person with nothing to prove would

VladmirsPoutine · 06/02/2022 10:55

I watched the whole thing just agog! I couldn't fathom taking out a loan in the thousands for anyone let alone a man I just met. That man deserves to be in jail for a very long time. These women will carry the mental, emotional and financial scars for a very long time. I don't think he did anything that hasn't been done before - we see stories of women giving their life savings to men who are ostensibly abroad in some sort of perilous situation however he just did it on a much bigger and calculated scale.

TulaOfDarkWater · 06/02/2022 11:14

There were male victims who came forward after it first went viral, one of the journalists stated it wasn’t just romance scams that he was running but platonic / business / investment ones too. Considering his lifestyle & the amounts of money involved I’d say the Tinder / romance scams were the tip of the iceberg & nothing more than gravy money, he definitely had his fingers in some other pies.

RozHuntleysStump · 06/02/2022 11:14

I thought it was really interesting. A symbiotic relationship of greed. I do feel bad for them and their stupidity however, and I also think they’re brave (or really stupid) for being on this documentary.

TulaOfDarkWater · 06/02/2022 11:19

@mscynical

Weird that he spent it all on living an Instagram lifestyle. Didn't invest or buy property it appeared. Still he had his act down to a fine art - over £10 million estimated to have been swindled! Loved the Dutch lady Smile
Investments / property would attract stringent anti-money laundering checks so the jig would have been up.
