If I were the real diamond dealing Leviev family, I’d be ignoring this too. To acknowledge this man’s behaviour is to give it, and him, some credibility and I expect that there would be a degree of pressure for the Levievs to at least support the questionable revenge crusade launched by the women who were scammed, or to donate to the ludicrous Gofundme appeal.
And, worse, have their photos taken with attention-seeking Pernilla and Cecilie for their ‘poor me’ but look at us doing girl power’ social media posts. I’m not rich or posh but even I would consider that beneath me. I expect that the Levievs, if they are indeed super rich, would want to minimise publicity since they might have a few skeletons in their own closets.
Besides, why would the Levievs care? Very few people reading the VG article or watching the Netflix doc would think, “now those Levievs really should do something to stop their business being brought into disrepute”. That’s not the story. The story is, relatively sane-seeming women fell for this nonsense because they were dazzled by the swindler’s fake wealth.
“Hmmm should I really get on a private jet with a man I don’t know? Probably not but DIAMONDS CASH, well maybe I can pretend I feel a special connection DIAMONDS FAIRYTALE WEDDING THAT WILL SHOW THE HATERZ AT SCHOOL THAT I AM SPECIAL, EH?”
“Is it normal for me to be touring Europe with a man I have met only once before on an unsuccessful Tinder date and have little in common with, and his much younger than me Russian girlfriend, ditto? Well, maybe not but DIAMONDS CASH I MIGHT MEET A BILLIONAIRE OF MY OWN IF I TAG ALONG”
