I feel a bit traumatised tonight.

5foot5 · 13/02/2022 21:12

@TheLightSideOfTheMoon

Must be Sister Julienne. Sister Francis wouldn’t be dramatic about NH ‘sinking’ if it was patronising Dr who died.
I read that as Dr Who died and thought, so what he does that over and over.

I think they will blindside us by killing someone who is not obviously in danger at the moment. Like someone involved in the rescue operation. Fred? Matthew? Cyril?

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 13/02/2022 21:14

My predition is that Nurse Crane was on the train. And its unknown until afterwards.

maddiemookins16mum · 13/02/2022 21:16

Is this meant to be the Hither Green crash that really did happen on 5 Nov 1967?

WildFlowerBees · 13/02/2022 21:16

Oh god @MinglingFlamingo imagine the dialogue between Tiny Tim and his Pa with Sheila looking on lovingly with that tight wee smile and tears in her eyes.

Has HT been watching Emmerdung farm of late?

Orangelover · 13/02/2022 21:16

At least! Something exciting happened!

I just admit though, I was shocked that Dr Turner didn't jump up and save the day by taking control and driving the train Wink

It'll be really nauseating

Ooooooh, I hadn't thought of that, but she was back in England so anything's possible!
ButterMeTimbers · 13/02/2022 21:19

My prediction: Matthew goes to fetch some more paraffin so they can light up the lanterns in the old treatment rooms. A spark from the crash ignites it and he's a gonner. Trixie, so distraught at the news, stops taking care of herself and soon her teeth are black and rotten. Then she has a talking to from
Nurse Crane and starts bathing again. She goes to the dentist for her rotten teeth and bumps into Christopher-much-better-for-her who has split up with his wife again and been left with their child. They live happily ever after.

If only Sister Julienne's younger self had been around -

'Heidi! My Heidi!'

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 13/02/2022 21:24

They wouldn’t mention Nurse Crane being in England and show the firework poster for nothing.

Or last weeks cheeky parafin/flammable shots.

jay55 · 13/02/2022 21:25

Did the mainline trains run through poplar back then or is it all a bit magical for tv?

Didn't mrs Higgins say nurse crane was in Kent? So hopefully not on the train but ready to take charge.

I predict sister julienne lives but goes to the motherhouse to convalesce, never to be seen again. I'm sure they are cannibals at the motherhouse.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 13/02/2022 21:25

Maybe JA doubled up filming CTM with the new Railway Children film?

MuffinStrops · 13/02/2022 21:27

The nurse Crane theory makes sense. I do hope that isn’t going to be it though. I reckon Jenny Agutter has had enough of it all. She will be the fatality.

LIZS · 13/02/2022 21:30

Was Nurse Crane not in Kent?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 13/02/2022 21:32

They said she was in Kent. If she was actually on the train we'll know they've jumped the shark.

woodhill · 13/02/2022 21:33

I didn't realise there was a train anywhere near the setting till tonight

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 13/02/2022 21:34

Kent and Essex are only separated by the Thames...

LIZS · 13/02/2022 21:36

True. You would have thought a train rattling past might have been foreshadowed and noted as a source of pollution etc.

MinglingFlamingo · 13/02/2022 21:41

Why is this the first time we've heard about the poplar rail track! It would be a good story a passenger's waters break on the train and a midwife has to do a delivery on the train! Whole faff of getting on to the tracks and getting fellow passengers to help out somehow
AtlasPine · 13/02/2022 21:42

The actor who played the very young mother Carol was so good. I wanted to give her a big hug. I hope she hasn’t lost her second baby. Someone hot bread asked where her son was during this - I’m guessing he went back to the foster mum for Carol’s hospital stay. I my head I hope so anyway as he would have known her.

I’m over invested I know.

Also think sister J is casting off her mortal coil. Unfortunately I do think Dr Twee is going to live, otherwise who would invent the CAT scan, IVF, heart transplants and ECMO ?

AtlasPine · 13/02/2022 21:43

Hot bread = up thread!
