I keep hearing rumours but can't see anything set in stone. Does anyone know when the new series of PB starts?

Absolutely loved it, so pleased that Tommy, and Arthur, didn't die but Michael did. I wish Gina and Uncle Jack had been disposed of too.

Also love how Duke went from a boy to a man overnight, killed somebody, uttered the famous "peaky fucking blinders", and got the haircut!

Samcro · 04/04/2022 17:52

@woodhill

Was Finn, Polly's son?
No he is the youngest shelby brother.
TottersBlankly · 04/04/2022 17:52

No, Finn was the youngest Shelby brother - after Arthur, Tommy, and John.

Michael was Polly’s son. He lived away from her as a child and clearly was only partially reabsorbed into the clan.

Samcro · 04/04/2022 17:53

Wasn't uncle jack in the car when it blew up

Cocopopsss · 04/04/2022 17:55

Loved it! Didn’t see that ending my coming. This series wasn’t as good as previous ones but this episode made up for it!

But regarding Finn, he has no reason to go against Tommy or the PBs. He is nothing without them and they pretty much brought him up. Plus, being the youngest brother, I think he would look up to Tommy and Arthur and want to emulate them rather than turn against them.
Maybe he was too much of a liability, blabbing secrets and not as streetwise as the others.

EasyLifer · 04/04/2022 17:56

Maybe Samcro? I thought it was just Michael's nameless henchmen in the car.

It was an emotional, bittersweet ending to an amazing show. Cillian Murphy just acts with his whole soul, and it really comes across. I've been going through netflix/Prime/Youtube to find his other movies and watch them and I've noticed he is completely different in every single one. Amazing actor.

Cwtchycoopark · 04/04/2022 18:16

Loved the last episode so much, I watched it twice and cheered when Michael and 'Allo 'Allo lady were killed both times.

Who was it that burned down Tommys caravan?

xfgdhfgnhkk007 · 04/04/2022 18:19

It was the doctor's servant guy.

Cwtchycoopark · 04/04/2022 18:30

@xfgdhfgnhkk007

It was the doctor's servant guy.
Thank you. Of course! I've just remembered the doctor told him to just before Tommy arrived.
Motnight · 04/04/2022 18:54

I thought that it was brilliant. The ending came out of nowhere for me. Cillian Murphy's acting was fantastic. After Tommy found out that he wasn't dying there was such a lightness to his character that I hadn't seen before.

Getyourarseofffthequattro · 04/04/2022 18:58

@DoctorTwo

Aye woodhill, I half expected her to say 'listen very carefully, I shall say this only once'.
Ha I said this to dp and he just didn't get it. Glad someone else thought the same Grin
woodhill · 04/04/2022 19:06

Yes, dh said exactly that phrase to me.

Her outfit was a bit of a cliché Smile

xfgdhfgnhkk007 · 04/04/2022 19:31

Linda looked a bit emotional at the table at the end there, did Arthur tell her about the tumour?

TottersBlankly · 04/04/2022 19:40

Regarding Arthur’s medical knowledge - as a rich man who must have faced life and death rather more often than most, I’d assume he had medical experts on tap and was used to having medical traumas explained to him. Poor love - he’d have been looking for a hidden bullet in those x-rays …

MountainSun · 04/04/2022 20:27

Tell you what, the last couple of series would have been much better if John was still in them.

Oh I do agree, I was gutted when John was shot! Great character.

TottersBlankly · 04/04/2022 20:35

Hmm … I wonder if we could have done without him in Gangs of London, though?

TottersBlankly · 04/04/2022 20:39

It’s true he had an interesting and unusual story in PB. And it was so discombobulating when he took to ‘respectable’ country life.

OnTheBoardwalk · 04/04/2022 21:14

I'd be up for an Isiah and Duke spin off series. Could do without Finn in it though

lesgalettes · 04/04/2022 21:17

I agree about John. I loved the scene when he had his surprise wedding.

lesgalettes · 04/04/2022 21:18

Recommend watching Dunkirk for more Cillian Murphy, and a great film.

BOOTS52 · 04/04/2022 21:25

I hadn't enjoyed this season at all but this episode last night was just fantastic, just the real Peaky Blinders we have all grown to love. Alfie in it also made my night as I just love him and his monologues before he even says hello Tommy.. No one else could talk to Tommy the way Alfie does. A great character. Arthur was brilliant last night what a great actor and he is not a trained actor. He was actually spotted by a director or talent agent when he was selling tickets outside some football venue or something so he must be a bit of a character in real life also. He was amazing last night and Cillian was back true to form. My son spotted the photo of the doctor before I did in that newspaper and he knew then. None of us even remotely thought that the diagnosis could be false but very clever wording when it was said no one would be able to kill Tommy Shelby except for Tommy Shelby. Is that the end for Tommy? do you think he will just pretend like he is dead or will he be in the new film? Duke definitely proved he is a real Shelby but would love to know what Tommy whispered into his ear in the forest. Still confused why Tommy does not seem close to his own little boy and the boy's face looked like he hated Tommy at the table in the forest. Finn never learned their own gypsy language so that in itself made him an outsider but never thought he would turn on his own. Duke will be in the new movie as he is a great little actor. We were just blown away by the finale last night but did feel so sorry for Lizzie. Tommy Dogs brilliant also and he is from Tuam outside Galway here in Ireland and is a real traveller and his first main role, he is outstanding. Sorry such a long message but so much to process and I know I seem overinvested but thank god a good finale. Cillian was in a play here in Theatre a few years ago but sold out in minutes and would loved to have seen him live as a great actor so imagine what he is like on stage as he has a great presense.

BOOTS52 · 04/04/2022 21:26

ooops Johnny Dogs not Tommy Dogs..Hope someone has an answer as to why Tommy not close to his young son.

biddyboo · 04/04/2022 21:34

The actor who player the dodgy doctor was also in Dunkirk.

TottersBlankly · 04/04/2022 21:43

I imagine Tommy finds Charles painful to look at because he reminds him so much of the loss of Grace.

And poor Charles looks daggers at his dad because he despises him for just replacing Rosie in the blink of an eye - and with a rival, older son. He’s little, but he’s not daft!
