I keep hearing rumours but can't see anything set in stone. Does anyone know when the new series of PB starts?

OP posts:

Loved it, did not see that twist coming. Series flagged badly in the middle but that episode was ace

elephantmarchingin · 03/04/2022 22:26

Such a shame as they've set it up nicely for another season

4intheCorner · 03/04/2022 22:26

The ending was very open ended. Are they leaving room for a potential 7th series or for Tommy to feature in the film?

CorneliusVetch · 03/04/2022 22:27

@SmellyOldOwls

Holy shit That was bloody brilliant. And I have not enjoyed this series at all. But fuck!! That was epic.
I agree, I really enjoyed that!
Fuckitydoodah · 03/04/2022 22:27

Well I suppose that kind of made up for the rest of the series being shite. I thought it was a good ending.

foofooyeah · 03/04/2022 22:28

Absolutely loved last episode. Kept holding my breathe. Great finale

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 03/04/2022 22:30

PB film is defo coming now!

woodhill · 03/04/2022 22:30

I think it's run its course tbh

SmellyOldOwls · 03/04/2022 22:31

@dapsnotplimsolls

Well, hmmm! I guess it was better than some kind of miracle cure. Not sure how I feel about that ending though ...
I absolutely loved it. It started with Tommy on the horse and ended with Tommy on the horse, riding away from who he was. A new era for Tommy. And what he did with his house, when they said it I was like 'of course!' Of course that's what Tommy would do. Still didn't see that coming. Fuck me I'm in shock that they managed to pull out that amazing ending.
dapsnotplimsolls · 03/04/2022 22:31

Bleddy Radio Times said Cillian had signed up for the film so I knew he wasn't going to die. It felt a bit 'Bobby Ewing in the shower' though.

Oh no I hope not! That was a good ending.
30not13 · 03/04/2022 22:31

Nah.

Me too - the scene with the mustard gas?? Or whatever it was. Outside the garrison. That was great
Ratatoo · 03/04/2022 22:33

Loved it. Can't wait for the film

StrawberryPot · 03/04/2022 22:33

Well I thought that was a brilliant episode. We even got some vintage Alfie!

I have to say though I did anticipate the twist. The dr bothered me at the time - I think if they'd chosen a less well known actor I may not have wondered if he was genuine.

But that aside I thought it was really really good. Peaky as it should be.

dapsnotplimsolls · 03/04/2022 22:33

I liked the actual ending it was the 'lying doctor' bit that I thought was a bit of a cop-out. But I suppose it was interesting to see Tommy get played - it's usually him playing the long game.

Binglebong · 03/04/2022 22:34

I'm unreasonably annoyed that the horse was tacked up. Tommy's a horseman - Whe wouldn't have left it like that if he was going to do himself in.

I get what Mosely did to him but what was Tommy's plan to defeat the Mosleys, what was the point of them (other than to be the big bad)?

NowNowDermot · 03/04/2022 22:35

God that was good! It had everything for me, I haven't been that impressed with this series but that more than made up for it.

foxlover47 · 03/04/2022 22:39

What a ending !!! Loved it , so so happy !!!!

Binglebong · 03/04/2022 22:43

And what caused his fits then? Too many unanswered questions for me.

But lucky he had parked up so near his doc!

MountainSun · 03/04/2022 22:44

Loved that! Lots of iffy bits (when did Arthur learn to interpret x-rays, in an age where he’d be unlikely to know what it was or which way up to hold it) but overall brilliant.

Does anyone else agree with my theory on Alfie Solomons though? I think he’s been dead for years, as he said.
No one else ever sees him, it’s always odd scenes with just him and Tommy talking, and he’s had no impact on the story. I think he’s dead (he was dying in series 4) and Tommy talks to him in his head.

MountainSun · 03/04/2022 22:47

Yep - what caused his fits?

How did Finn and billy get found out?

What happened to the American who was threatening billy?

What happened to Gina?

How did he find out Michaels plan?

StrawberryPot · 03/04/2022 22:48

Ha ha - agree about Arthur's amazing ability to read x-rays and know the medical term for Tommy's condition! Perhaps there was a letter with it though.

I'm sure Tommy's been having fits and hallucinating for a long time hasn't he? I always assumed it was down to the trauma of WWI and substance abuse.

longwayoff · 03/04/2022 22:53

No way would Tommy prepare for imminent death without shooting his horse first. So a miracle was definitely on the cards. Hope we get to see the hideous Moseleys banged up in the film.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 03/04/2022 22:56

The Mosley element has a grain of truth. Mosley’s organisation was successfully infiltrated by the security services and special branch from the mid 1930’s. He was sort of tolerated until 1940 not long after Churchill took over.
