I keep hearing rumours but can't see anything set in stone. Does anyone know when the new series of PB starts?

So Churchill having an inside man is credible

womaniswomaniswoman · 03/04/2022 22:59

I feel quite emotional now it's all over.

Loved the final scene, with his old life burnt down leaving him able to just be free.

Agree Alfie might be part of the PTSD symptoms. Was really glad to see him appear in the final episode!

So glad Michael was killed, he was absolutely no match for Tommy.

SmellyOldOwls · 03/04/2022 23:00

@Binglebong

I'm unreasonably annoyed that the horse was tacked up. Tommy's a horseman - Whe wouldn't have left it like that if he was going to do himself in.

I get what Mosely did to him but what was Tommy's plan to defeat the Mosleys, what was the point of them (other than to be the big bad)?

He was reporting everything they said to Churchill, I suppose he hoped he had given them enough rope to hand themselves by the time he died.

The only thing that bothered me was, why wouldn't he tell Ada? He and Ada were very close.

LadyTwinkle · 03/04/2022 23:12

I'm a bit confused, what happened with Billy and Finn? Why was Finn kicked out of the Peaky Blinders? That seemed to come out of nowhere considering he'd barely been in it all season.

MummyGummy · 03/04/2022 23:19

Brilliant! I was worried it was heading in the downfall of the family but it was a perfect, twisty ending with Tommy coming out on top again. And Arthur in the gas mask!

billy was the informant and finn was feeding him info unknowingly
DoctorTwo · 03/04/2022 23:29

That was a cracking ending, really enjoyed the whole episode. Sad to see it's now finished.

LadyTwinkle · 03/04/2022 23:34

Thanks @estellacruella I'm definitely going to have to watch the last two episodes again. I feel like I missed too many important details.

Greyskiesaregonnaclearup · 03/04/2022 23:51

I thought that ending was a bit....lame. Tommy isn't dead. So what's he going to do now?

Greyskiesaregonnaclearup · 03/04/2022 23:52

Should probably add that we called the 'twist' a while back with that dodgy character. Just seemed out of place.

FlippyFloppyFlappy · 03/04/2022 23:52

I enjoyed it. Finn went to shoot Duke and the other member rather than Billy who had betrayed them, so his loyalties didn't lie with them.

Haggisfish3 · 03/04/2022 23:56

Absolutely loved it. Didn’t see the twist at all. And loved that both Arthur and Tommy survived.

Thymeout · 03/04/2022 23:57

Absolutely brilliant. So glad.

Did anyone else notice the sign Johnny Dogs made on the side of Tommy's car, just a squiggle in the rain drops with his finger, to tell Tommy that he'd switched the bomb? Just as well for my blood pressure. That crow hopping around Tommy when he was lying on the ground gave me the creeps, given what they're known to do to dead bodies. I think the thought passed through Tommy mind, too.

I loved the Alfie scene. I don't think it was a dream. He mentioned that he was now the boss of half of Camden Town, which was the bribe Tommy gave him to come back from the dead.

I don't think any of the scenes with Tommy and the Mosleys really quite worked. Something wrong with the casting? Jessica and Nancy both wrote letters to Churchill saying their sister was a menace to national security and should be locked up, too. Originally, I think, it was just going to be Mosley.

Samcro · 04/04/2022 07:54

the crow bit reminded me of SOA.
loved it. found the Finn bit confusing. felt sorry for Billy, he was used by everyone,
who was firing the machine gun? was it IRA person or gangster.

Nowmum43 · 04/04/2022 08:08

I loved the last episode.
I wonder if Tommy will go back to his family or take this as an opportunity to start a whole new life!

Binglebong · 04/04/2022 08:17

I know Finn tried to shoot Duke but what led up to that? Tommy must have given permission for him to be disowned if he did it - what made Tommy suspect he would?

AnImaginaryCat · 04/04/2022 08:18

I had the same annoyance. It distracted me a lot as was trying to console myself how the horse would be OK considering it was tacked and tied up. I ended up telling myself that he looked at his watch because he'd told Duke to come find him on such a date and time. So then Duke would turm up not long after he had shot himself and Duke would look after the horse.
humblesims · 04/04/2022 08:20

I like the Alfie being dead theory. It works for me, although I didnt guess it. I think the scenes with him and Tommy are always stand out. I like the ambiguity. I liked Duke and wish he'd been introduced earlier in the run. Glad Michael got his straight through the eyeball! I didnt see the twist coming although I didnt think he would die. I think it would have been irresponsible of the beeb to have such a loved character die by his own hand. Loved it!!

Pieceofpurplesky · 04/04/2022 08:25

The film/spin off will be Finn and Duke. It was set up perfectly for a new generation of Peaky Blinders. Tommy will be a politician.

Ilostit · 04/04/2022 08:58

Just loved it, it was relatively straightforward. Pulled it all together. I also sensed a few looks from Charles (Tommy’s other son) towards Duke.

The spirituality element means that Duke and Tommy have a deeper connection already as speak the ‘language’.

Butterflyfluff · 04/04/2022 09:02

Can anyone explain how they knew Billy was the traitor?

AnImaginaryCat · 04/04/2022 09:11

@Binglebong

And what caused his fits then? Too many unanswered questions for me.

But lucky he had parked up so near his doc!

Possibly psychogenic seizures or posttraumatic epilepsy.

I think it wasn't unknown (but the cause ignored just like "shell shock" was).

louise5754 · 04/04/2022 09:44

Didn't Alfie refer to Michael as Tommys nephew instead of cousin or was he talking about someone else? I doubt they would make a mistake but I'm sure he was talking about Michael being dead.

Thymeout · 04/04/2022 10:13

Finn has been detaching himself from the family all series. Tommy made a dig about not being able to remember the name of his wife to point out that he'd never met her before they married.

I think he didn't confide in Ada because she, too, wanted out of the dark side of the Shelby empire. She wasn't going to help him carry the bucket any more and wouldn't have agreed with the murder and mayhem he planned before he died.

Wasn't really explained that, annoyingly.
