Changing Rooms tonight. Anyone watching?

I’m so excited to see the return of Changing Rooms tonight on Channel 4. I used to love watching the show in the ‘90s with my mum when I lived at home. I remember doing some very dodgy stencilling in my mum’s front room after being inspired by a makeover!

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen will in it so there should be some extreme makeovers. Will anyone else be watching?

Again LLB created a room that I could live in.

Splashit and smear? Not so much.

It looked like someone had spilled a slushpuppy down the back of the settee.

And the last time I saw a colour like the one that was on the walls, it was inside a colicky nappy.

And no offence intended to the beautiful Mrs LLB, but one would just have to have a tiny shot if he came oozing round the corner…. He is strangely alluring.

SequinsandStiIettos · 09/09/2021 16:09

I assume the smoky table was for dining nope and the two bar stools were for drinking also nope
Every time they remove what looks like a comfy sofa, I go Hmm
I stand corrected on the rails of the hidden floordrobe, you did have two...the lower one meant the tops touched the floor, the higher one could take a set of tees, jackets etc the side was all the separate hung when one wopping rail may have been more practical. Still, it gives her the chance to pare down and take half those clothes don to Oxfam I guess.
I have liked LLB's designs > than those of B+S (10/10 east) but not sure I could live with them day-to-day Grin I want to see all the rooms now having been lived in for a while - that should be the final show.
So away with the vases and trimmings and flowers, and see what was actually kept and whether the cats do climb up and down the stir thing

SequinsandStiIettos · 09/09/2021 16:10

down, stair disco sausage fingers Wink

longwayoff · 09/09/2021 16:12

You're not alone, Sheldonesque, let's form a queue for LLB. Although I wouldn't fancy my chances against Mrs LLB, he's a husband who actually appears to love his wife a lot, they seem very well matched, like swans.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 09/09/2021 16:12

The cats will not climb up and down the stair thing as it brings them too close to the shite smear on the wall.

There is no burying that.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 09/09/2021 16:15

Mrs LLB shines like a beacon also longway

They make a magnificently striking couple and if she ever did deign to let me have a little stroke of his leather or a shot on his brocade, it would be merely out of pity. Sad

SequinsandStiIettos · 09/09/2021 16:35

Indeed sheld they did Stepping out together rather than him doing Strictly, so they could dance together

SequinsandStiIettos · 09/09/2021 16:37

Oh God, I forgot the guyliner and leather skirt!!!

longwayoff · 09/09/2021 16:38

No problem, Sheldon, am queueing behind you as you asked first.

SequinsandStiIettos · 09/09/2021 16:39

better here

SequinsandStiIettos · 09/09/2021 16:41

and a not so passable doble I still would though

Grin Glitterball

@SheldonesqueTheBstard - I said “nappy contents” when I saw that colour on the walls!

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 09/09/2021 17:40

Oh I loved that show sequins

I’ve seen them in real life up here (not hugely close up) and they seem to adore eachother.

He is the nearest I’ll get to Dave Grohl though so I for one hope that he has a louche little twin out there.

I’m happy to share him if hematerialises longway 😉

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius

The colour belongs in a nappy. Or on the wall with that smear…

rosegoldwatcher · 09/09/2021 18:11

Jordan Cluroe (the taller of the twosome) was in one of the series of The Great Interior Design Challenge and he was really very good in that.
But in this they are like two little kids left alone in the playgroup art corner.
Surely neither of them will get any new paying customers after this sh*t-show?

CaptainMyCaptain · 09/09/2021 20:01

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius

I haven't watched last night's episode yet - but I have to say that calling the two designers Bodgit and Scarper is sheer genius, *@EastWestWhosBest*!!
It's brilliant!

Ah I wondered where I knew him from.

Oh and I can’t take full credit for Bodgit and Scarper. It comes from something else, but I’m not sure what.

longwayoff · 09/09/2021 23:12

This reminds me, there is, or was, an estate agent's in the Midlands called Doolittle and Dalley. Never failed to make me snigger when passing through. Real names too, or so I was told.

2Rebecca · 10/09/2021 12:37

The designs on Bodgit and Scarper's website look OK so have they chosen to be really crap on peaktime national TV? Bizarre.

One of the designs is of the corner of the pointless table and chairs from the lest episode. Carefully shot it looks ok, despite being useless.
CaptainMyCaptain · 10/09/2021 20:11

I've just watched. LLB's room was liveable and I liked the walk in wardrobe. Bodgit and Scarper's room was horrendous, - the splattered wall, gallery of pictures, disco sausage - all awful.

longwayoff · 15/09/2021 20:58

Crikey chaps! That's a bit more like it.

CaptainMyCaptain · 15/09/2021 21:08

I wasn't keen on the acid yellow but the fireplace end was really nice.

Meredusoleil · 15/09/2021 21:23

Quite liked LLB's room tonight. Not for myself of course. But still nice to admire in someone else's house iwsim!

EsmaCannonball · 15/09/2021 22:12

I loved the colour of the fireplace tiles but that was about it. I thought the woman in pink liked the bedroom but was unsure if her partner really liked it. I thought the other couple hated their room, especially the woman. I just wish they do beautiful design rather than always something wacky.

EastWestWhosBest · 15/09/2021 22:29

DH has speakers. He was incandescent with rage on behalf of the man tonight as they had put his speakers back in the wrong place. The wrong type were at the back and the centre speaker had gone completely. I also agreed with his wife about the heat of the fire and the tv. What was all that guff about a gap? That won’t help. I did like the colours of the fireplace.

The other room was a miss for LLB. I agree that the woman in the pink top loved it but her wife hated it. And what it the aversion that designers seem to have to bedside tables. Where do they put their glass of water, book, glasses etc?
