Changing Rooms tonight. Anyone watching?

I’m so excited to see the return of Changing Rooms tonight on Channel 4. I used to love watching the show in the ‘90s with my mum when I lived at home. I remember doing some very dodgy stencilling in my mum’s front room after being inspired by a makeover!

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen will in it so there should be some extreme makeovers. Will anyone else be watching?

I wouldn’t want LLBs room in my house but I liked it, if that makes sense.

The room the two men did was dreadful. That shit smear up the wall was just bollocks.

I liked the way LLB called two guys Russell and the other one.

LLBs room was nice but he is so irritating, not as bad as the other 2, he has become a caricature of himself
The other 2 are taking the piss and just creating awful rooms to be outrageous. The presenter is awful

Agree, beige room was OK apart from the shit smear and the mammary chairs. Blue room was nice but I wouldn't want it in my home. I didn't like the brown wood-effect wall, the "panelling" looked OK on TV but I doubt would bear close inspection. I also noted that they both got to keep their telly this week.

The cat pictures looked something kids had done at school.

I like LLB - he's not a caricature, he's sending himself up. There's a difference.

Again I’d have to go with LLB this week. I wasn’t fond of the colours in his room but it was infinitely preferable to the dirty protest and the chair that would not only give you piles but had one on it as well.

If the shite smear had been done in metallic or something else then it might have been designeresque.

To do it in skiddies brown was an error.

I'm not convinced the brown smear was an error but rather a gesture of contempt. I'm not keen on the award winning couple. 'Award?' said my daughter 'what was it? Cycling proficiency?'

It had a horrible undertone that the designers were (not very subtly) taking the piss out of the homeowners its all too self-aware and trying too hard. It used to be funny in the old days when there were genuine accidents or when the designers/neighbours genuinely misinterpreted what the homes owner was asking for - when it happened by accident not by design. This deliberate attempt to get things wrong and shock is just cringeworthy. I'm surprised LLB wants to be involved - he must need the money.

It does have a sneery tone doesn't it? I'm no fan of LLB but he is a talented designer and has a big personality, he manages to make fun without being nasty. Anna and the two designers should stop trying to be funny with the "clever" asides and start listening to the homeowners.

LLB is clever, witty and talented. These qualities seem sadly lacking in the other two.

In striking contrast, I’ve been watching Nick Knowles’ Big House Clean Up, and am really enjoying it - Nick and the designer both want to make the house suit the family, and make them happy - no dirty protest paint effects here!

I watched that Nick Knowles programme last night and also thought how great it was and what a good job they did on that childminder's house 👌🏼

It says something that we're three shows in and I have no idea what either of the designer pair's name is. The only reason I'd want to know is so I can avoid them in future.

I watched the Nick Knowles one as well. Much preferred it - loved the way they transformed her home and how happy it made the kids.

Not going to bother with Changing Rooms again, will stick with Nick’s show.

I think it was on Ch4. But it may have been ITV1. One of the main channels with adverts on anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️

LLB has designed rooms I could live with two weeks in a row. Fair play.
The duo who did the godawful gelateria bs last week did shitty swirl this week. I personally could take a swirl done properly in a block colour but not that half-arsed job and cat art was piss poor.
I'd empty the shelves for the cat, take down the shitty pics and ebay them and put my photos back, and would have insisted on the swirl being painted properly or painted over.

I remember in the old changing rooms, LLB painted a piano with a mural, it was absolutely stunning. Wonder if the owners kept it, if they sold it Im sure would have made some money.

Episodes two and three produced better rooms from LLB, I thought. Not so much from the other two.
I'm going to carry on watching it, even if it is through my fingers…

Agree LLB’s rooms are to a much higher standard than the other pair (I don’t know their names either). At the start I question his colour choices then it all comes together at the end in a way I never expected. He is genuinely talented. I’ll keep watching for him.

I feel like the duo did the brown smear to create an iconic moment like the teapot shelves but it felt too contrived.

I haven’t seen a single thing I like so far apart from the colourful sofas.

I love love love LLB though!
