Did the son shoot his mother as she lay on the ground? Did he not recognise her? It was such a chaotic scene I may have got that wrong.

Piggywaspushed · 02/08/2021 16:46

There was a woman (assume dead) on top of his mother who was effectively shielding her : he shot her.

Clawdy · 02/08/2021 20:04

Ah, thanks, Piggy that makes sense.

AngryMuppet · 02/08/2021 20:14

The forensics who checked over the laptop weren't very good if they didn't spot the obviously fake girlfriend. Also how did they know where the attack was going to take place? I missed that bit.

Yeah, I agree, you'd think they'd be cross-referencing everybody.

I think the son and the "girlfriend" agreed to meet at the time and place where the attack happened, and it alerted Baptiste because it clashed with the politician's speech and there had been terrorist threats (which he deduced correctly were decoys for the real attack).

Curbaisti · 03/08/2021 09:07

Meh its all a bit Famous Five isnt it. Amy's email right at the top and experts found nothing?? Disappointing as I rematched the first series it was so good. And yeh whoever said about Annalise Hille just dripping around doing nothimg

Ah right I missed the bit where the meeting place was named.

I'm watching this avidly and would LOVE to binge it. Unfortunately I live in Ireland so can't access BBC iplayer.

I saw the son revelation coming too.

I'm very suspicious of Ace Bhatti, he's too good an actor to only have that very supporting role.

Could he be Gomorrah?

Piggywaspushed · 03/08/2021 18:09

Yeah but everyone said that all the way through Line of Duty!

Graffittiunderpass · 03/08/2021 18:30

And I'm one of them 😂. (Notice my user name)

He took a very shifty call in episode 2

SueSaid · 03/08/2021 18:44

'I'm very suspicious of Ace Bhatti, he's too good an actor to only have that very supporting role. Could he be Gomorrah?'

I thought Gomorrah was head of the far right/white supremacist movement?

I agree he does look shifty though.

Missed Baptiste last Sunday , watched earlier.

Was very surprised by the huge twist at the end , no wonder Baptiste has turned to drink and let himself go.

I too think Emma's boss/colleague is somehow involved .

Oh I see the username now!

He does look shifty, I agree, but I sometimes wonder if that's his acting!

CONGRATULATIONS @Blondeshavemorefun
Thanks🎉🍾

Edmontine · 04/08/2021 15:20

Congratulations Mrs Blonde.

So ... I also guessed who it would be that Baptiste killed.

It’s all still relentlessly depressing, no? Everyone’s children dead. D I V O R C E looming - though not specifically mentioned in Ep 3, Detective Zsófia Arslan reduced to a security job ... It’s a slog with seemingly nothing left to bring hope.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/08/2021 19:37

Thanks all. I don’t rem posting on Sunday. Must have been the booze

Sooooooo

We now know why Emma is in wheelchair

Shot in back

Baptist grief is understandable as he shot her son

Well done those who guesses the twist

I didn’t

Tho why was the son shooting people , I didn’t understand that. Why didn’t he run off

If is very bleak yes. The lovely accents, particularly Baptiste's, and the beautiful location keep me watching though. I hope Juszt the terrorist with the stripey tattoo doesn't drop them in it, their surveillance all looks a bit amateurish.

SueSaid · 04/08/2021 20:23

It* 🙄

Edmontine · 04/08/2021 20:32

Not necessary. The boy had just murdered people right in front of him. Possibly the only reason Emma wasn’t killed was that her son recognised her. Shooting him was completely reasonable. Even she ought to be able to see that.

Ilovetea33 · 04/08/2021 21:36

I'm still very underwhelmed. As a matter of fact, I fell asleep shortly after the beginning of the episode. But as I was recording it at the same time, I could just pick up where I left off. If it weren't for Tchéky Karyo, I would give up on it now.

butterpuffed · 04/08/2021 23:08

He s been radicalised, he's one of the terrorists.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/08/2021 23:19

In a few weeks ? Wasn’t it a month after
