Anyone else watching? More plot holes than a colander. Could be such a good story, but the writing is so lazy. Yet another Kay Mellor drama featuring Gaynor Faye.

I watch this with my husband and 19 year old and we enjoy it! I feel embarrassed to admit it when I see how nearly everyone else hates it. I like the Scoobydoo-ness of it.

Ok it’s not going to win any awards, but it’s good fun and I want to know how it all turns out.

As for KM always using her daughter, well why not? If I was writing tv dramas too right I’d make my kids be in them whether they wanted to be or not.

I’m also currently re watching The Chase on dvd (I like KM dramas!) and the little girl who plays GFs daughter is sooo like her I wondered if she might be her daughter or niece but her names Grace Ruiz.

I think the man that someone asked about earlier is called Jonathan Kerrigan. If I remember right he was going out with or maybe married to Claire Goose (from The Coroner) when they were in Casualty together.

If anyone knows where I can watch series 3 of the syndicate, please tell me!

I’m beginning to think my tv taste isn’t very highbrow...

longwayoff · 18/04/2021 22:53

S3 is on Prime but costs extra. You have to sign up to join something so you could sign up then cancel in good time.

Madhairday · 19/04/2021 22:42

It is much worse than the last few series. What annoys me most is the lazy writing and clichéd characters - eg fat girl who never stops going on about food and stuffing herself because of her low blood sugar. Just a tired old trope.
Still kind of want to know what happens though...

ClaraLane · 20/04/2021 21:03

Jonathan Kerrigan used to be in Heartbeat, can’t believe how old he is now!

helenoftroystonvasey · 20/04/2021 21:46

Colletes accent Hmm

longwayoff · 20/04/2021 21:54

I swear I shall watch this bloody series to the bitter end. It will be an endurance test. It's hypnotically awful but I have to see how it ends.

TheChosenTwo · 20/04/2021 21:54

@helenoftroystonvasey didn’t realise this was on again now, not watching but meant to say before how atrocious her accent is! So wooden, why not just let her use her actual accent? You can see in her facial expressions, her body language the way she grits her teeth that she’s trying so hard to remember the accent! So distracting!

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 20/04/2021 22:17

Luckily I missed it due to a new series on the history of make up on Beeb 2.

longwayoff · 20/04/2021 22:36

Good choice Motherofgod. I want to see that. Was it interesting?

Sim7 · 20/04/2021 23:07

I am enjoying it, but agree it is a little far fetched they can’t get away with the fraud much longer.

ILoveWillSmith · 21/04/2021 10:45

I've stuck with this until now hoping I would come to like the characters but that hasn't happened - I don't care if they get the money or not!
As other pp have said, its too much like a kids programme, I still cant work out whether its supposed to be a comedy or not Confused

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 21/04/2021 10:53

The make up artist presenter recreated both some of the cosmetics of the Georgian era - some of which you do yourself at home if you wanted to - and she and a hair stylist recreated a high fashion Georgian look using either authentic or near authentic products where possible. I found it really interesting.
MotherOfGodWeeFella · 21/04/2021 10:53

Some of which you could do at home that should say

longwayoff · 21/04/2021 12:48

Thank you motherofgod. I wont go for a restyle but will watch later today.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/04/2021 16:53

It’s getting exciting

So now the big men are trying to prove its fraud

Does she really think 10 million will go to her

Fool she is

Glad ROXY has the baby still

Dog comp in France is silly and unprofessional to allow strangers to take dogs for walks

Laburnam · 22/04/2021 17:31

It’s utterly awful

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/04/2021 18:37

I honestly like it

Easy watching

Snowfalling · 23/04/2021 00:47

The Roxy character just annoys the life out of me!
But good to see the smug look on Frank's face wiped off finally by the investigators.

cosmopolitanplease · 23/04/2021 09:48

The latest episode seemed like it had been written by a men's rights activist fgs. Roxy is an absolute caricature of the evil lying mad ex who conspires to keep the loving dad from his child Hmm

The fat bashing is disgusting, the larger girl has no personality other than eating, talking about food or looking at food on her phone.

Do you mean Georgina? Roxy is the one who is pregnant with Joe Sugg's baby.
Gemma2019 · 23/04/2021 13:53

I wish the whole thing was on iplayer so I could just get it over with instead of having to wait for the ending where they get what's rightfully theirs, buy the dog kennels from the mean developers with their winnings, see Frank gets his comeuppance and all live happily ever after.

Jonathan Kerrigan married though - I didn't expect that Grin

Gemma2019 · 23/04/2021 13:59

Imagine if my agent said to me hey Gemma I've got a great audition for you. It's for the lead role in a Kay Mellor drama/comedy caper. They want someone brunette, northern and late 40s playing someone a bit beleaguered and unlucky in love.

Erm I think I'll save my bus fare on this occasion, thanks all the same.

I'm enjoying it, it's just a piece of light escapism.

Unless it's a historical drama I'm not bothered about plot holes, it's just an easy watch,

I do like Catherine Rose Morley, she's good in anything she does.

JustDanceAddict · 25/04/2021 09:08

I’m up to ep 3 I think. I’ve never watched so much crap in my life, I’m treating it like a french farce.
Surely Kay Mellor can write better than this & wtf when they found Frank alive ie, he’d faked his own death, did the syndicate guys not call the police?
