I agree it's totally different to Yorkshire Farm. I'm don't know why people compare

Limer · 25/02/2021 11:47

Nothing like Yorkshire Farm.

Sue R just wants new babies. I had to laugh when Chloe described how a new baby is handed round "like pass the parcel" - contrast that with the earlier series when some of the older children were interviewed separately. None of them wanted any more new babies joining the family!

This episode had lots of "Radford-Cam" footage (probably out of necessity due to lockdown) where it is clear that the children had all been very well rehearsed in advance to perform in the correct manner, e.g. to coo over the new baby. There was no fly-on-the-wall stuff at all.

BowlerHatPowerHat · 25/02/2021 12:11

Just watched this, a few things I wondered about:
Why don't they shop at Costco or the like (though I guess the supermarket gets publicity).
May be down to editing but why weren't some of the other kids working in the bakery.
Why haven't the neighbours built a hug fence to try dampen the noise?
How long will that remote vacuum cleaner last? Some of the kids are bound to try and ride on it.

I hope Daniel gets into the RAF.

If they want to change the spelling of the baby's name on the birth certificate they have 12 months to do it.
Confused by a poster up thread who said 'Heidi' was a made up name. It's a fairly well established in name.

I think the poster was referring to the name Heidie being made up.
Ilovemaisie · 25/02/2021 12:22

But I thought the point was he spelt it wrong (that extra e on the end) so if it had been spelt how she wanted it - 'Heidi' - it wasn't made up.
I really like that name.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/02/2021 12:25

It’s the ie at the end. All their kids end ie

Sure the hot tub was a gift

The mis-selling was Hiedie not Heidie

Limer · 25/02/2021 12:28

Sue wanted Heidie so that all the girls' names would end with E

Noel spelled it out to the registrar as Hiedie

If only they'd run it past Mumsnet Baby Names first! Poor Heidie will be forever spelling out her name, and rolling her eyes when people say, "oh, that's an unusual spelling" while thinking, "WTF did her parents give her a made-up spelling ending DIE"

TheFairyCaravan · 25/02/2021 12:30

I hope Daniel gets into the RAF.

He’s already gone, although a couple of days in they said he didn’t know if was for him. They sent him a “care package” absolutely full of junk food and energy drinks. The poor sod will get ripped apart for it and won’t be able to have it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/02/2021 12:32

Tho was that a mistype from the registry office

Easily done

But should have checked it

We were told to check ours

Ilovemaisie · 25/02/2021 12:34

Oops then about Hiedie/Heidie.
But it's easy to change if they are that fussed.

There are so many other names ending in an E, MN could definitely have helped with this. Grin

Evie, Zoe, Elsie, Esme, Annie all work with their previous names, but instead the child gets a butchered name just to fit a theme.

No, It was how Noel spelt it out.
I would hoped the registrar would check spellings with the parent when they are non-standard.

TheRogueApostrophe · 25/02/2021 13:00

It wasn't a mistype. We clearly heard him spelling it out that way, then the registrar asked him if it that was correct (presumably showing it to him on the screen) and he confirmed it as being correct.

FatCatThinCat · 25/02/2021 13:11

I honestly don't know how they do it. I only have one and am constantly knackered.

Yep, he definitely said H-I-E. I commented to DH that he had spelt it wrong before we saw the birth certificate.

That's easy, they get the older siblings to do it.

CovidCrow · 25/02/2021 13:36

He’s already gone, although a couple of days in they said he didn’t know if was for him.

They've probably guilt tripped him into coming home to look after his siblings, like his poor sister who tried to go to uni but ended up in the magic pie shop.

Thesearmsofmine · 25/02/2021 13:43

I haven’t watched this latest show(and won’t), I hate the narrative that they put out about living off the pie shop when they are paid for their media work, earn money from YouTube and are gifted so many things. Once they stop having babies and the dc get older people will lose interest and they will stop receiving attention and gifts, on social media posts with young kids bring in the followers but by the time they past the toddler stage people stop caring particularly if the child is a boy(posts with girls are far more popular).
I have been on a Facebook post where there is an article about the family and the older daughter is on there threatening anyone who doesn’t agree that the family are amazing and inspirational with legal action. If course some comments are nasty and horrible but threatening people who question their narrative is ridiculous.

Limer · 25/02/2021 13:44

Yes, the older children do most of it. They don't do any out-of-school activities. Noel's at the bakery and Sue spends hours every day policing her social media doing 4-5 loads of washing.

BowlerHatPowerHat · 25/02/2021 13:52

I always wonder how they would cope if one of the kids had a learning or physical disability and needed so much extra care.

AintPageantMaterial · 25/02/2021 13:56

@Whatwouldscullydo

Course something happens and the tv companies just drop you.. look.at the duggars, honey boo boo, Jeremy Kyle etc
I don’t see what else tv companies are supposed to do in these circumstances

”something happens”
One of the Duggar boys admitted to sexually abusing his sisters; Honey Boo Boo’s mother began dating a convicted paedophile and a Jeremy Kyle show participant kicked himself.
