I found the narration quite poor. They have a YouTube channel and so I have seen their version of some of the events.
They might have been worried about the shop closing but it has been massively exaggerated by channel 5.

Exhausteddog · 23/02/2021 18:41

To be fair he said it's £30k to pay the house and food bills. Not that everything costs that, as it's obviously way more - they spent £3-400 on Hallie's birthday on last night's episode plus the garden, hot tub etc and they'd had a trip to Australia cancelled. Flights alone would have been £20k for that!

They said they spent 350-400/wk on food/groceries (which is not all that much when you consider the cost per person and the fact theyll need to buy nappies - lots of! - and dog food) but that on it's own would be 20k!Shock

And then add in birthdays, christmas, easter, halloween, mobile phones for tween/teens + contracts, clothes, school uniforms, school trips (in normal times) car insurance etc - its mind boggling!

Housewife2010 · 23/02/2021 20:22

I noticed they lived in a semi. I wouldn't want to live on the other side of the party wall of such a huge family.

SquirtleSquad · 23/02/2021 20:36

Sue instagrammed saying they didn't need L plates as he'd already passed his test and Noel took him out to refresh his driving because he hadn't drive in months over lockdown

DeadHeadedDaisy · 23/02/2021 21:14

I have no idea how they afford everything. The shopping all seems to be branded stuff, branded clothes, expensive electronics...a hot tub! I think they are very resourceful to be able to afford their lifestyle and manage to care for everyone.
Can't work out what the secret is with their relationship though? Do share!

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/02/2021 21:17

A lot of given to them and they they promote /advertise on blog

It's not glossed over on here at all by posters but it quickly gets removed by HQ

@Blondeshavemorefun. Why hand over your mouth, what's the big deal?

ssd · 23/02/2021 22:11

Ah sorry Just reread thread

Pizzaandgarlicdip · 23/02/2021 22:19

Interesting that’s the reason they moved from channel 4. Last nights episode definitely showed them looking much more like they’d got things together whereas most of the old shows show exactly how much of the “parenting” is being done by the older children

purpleme12 · 23/02/2021 23:20

I agree that last night's show came acrossb more 'together'

It was a very tidy house for that many people!

purpleme12 · 23/02/2021 23:20

I wondered why it had moved to channel 5

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/02/2021 23:36

Can we not mention what we are not meant to mention

Or this thread will go pop

Thank you :)

To me it was all a bit staged, all the 'look how relaxed we are' and the 'we don't shout at our kids'. It definitely had a different feel to the episodes on channel 4.

MyDcAreMarvel · 23/02/2021 23:43

Can’t believe Noel Got Heidie name wrong on birth certificate tbf Sue made the name up so easy mistake to make.

purpleme12 · 23/02/2021 23:45

Yes it definitely had a different feel

It was a very calm and quiet episode which isn't how they have been before

HoneyIShrunkMyAss · 23/02/2021 23:49

She must have been blessed with a pelvic floor of steel is all I can say! I had a prolapse after 4!

I was surprised they live in a semi. It must be interesting living next door.

I’m not sure I agree with their DC being used for public entertainment but still I’m sure the parents have their best interests at heart.

PickAChew · 23/02/2021 23:54

Their semi is a bit like the dumping ground.

TwoPupsAndaHamster · 24/02/2021 00:05

22 kids is ridiculous but so long as the tax payer doesn’t have to foot the bill, then let them get on with it

It’s amazing how a small pie shop can feed all that lot at £400 a week for groceries, plus all the rest of the household bills, clothing etc tbh. I wish I knew how they do it 🤔 Have they ever said how much the pie shop makes per annum? I think I need a change of career

Meowmeow20202 · 24/02/2021 00:41

@Twospaniels

Why did Daniel have a driving lesson with Dad and no L plates on the car!

22 kids is ridiculous but so long as the tax payer doesn’t have to foot the bill, then let them get on with it.

They get more tax payers money then a single mum on benefits Hmm I enjoyed the c4 shows not so much c5. Saying that i have no issue with them
SquirtleSquad · 24/02/2021 07:56

I found it very interesting they made a point to show them reading to their kids at bedtime after on the earlier C4 shows they said they don't read to them and they received a lot of stick for it on here.

Yes it seemed very different from their previous shows. Almost as though they were trying to rebrand their image. Showing them tucking each child in individually was also at odds with their older programs, where they used to just lock the children in their rooms.
