Anybody know when it starts? All I've found is this Radio Times article saying it will start before the end of March this year. www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/line-of-duty-season-six-release-date/ Kelly Macdonald is due to guest star.

I'm glad someone else has noticed something that's been bothering me about the botched ambush. A robber was shot (possibly dead) yet as far as I can remember he/she wasn't ID'd. The other three were and we saw them later with their photos (and the comment about them "not having robbed anything bigger than a Gregg's".

Jo was bothered enough about the shot robber to say "shit shit shit" but not bothered enough to remain on the scene or obtain an ID for him/her later. Farida was the only copper there looking worried. Not sure if I'm overthinking (again) but I found that odd.

I missed the bit where Buckells was on the phone to call off the initial raid (I'll need to watch again) but afaik he reports to Osborne (who's CC I think.) Anyone remember him and think it could be relevant?

I'm going to watch just that little bit again. It wasn't even clear how many of them there were or where they came from (shop/van).

In the series 1 interview Ryan admits to Kate that he handles the phones for Tommy. Plus Steve knows him as his torturer. The police therefore do know he's connected.

But back then they just didn't know what being connected to Tommy actually meant, and it's been years and years since then, so even if they could imagine more now, they're not going to keep track on everyone they arrest, particularly if they have cause to think they then disengaged from crime. We saw him in his police interview being open about his involvement as a child so he's not hiding that - just everything else!

I did say upthread that I thought it was highly unlikely that he'd get anywhere near AC12 without Steve objecting, and Steve might well be very suspicious of him if he came across him, but there's no reason to think he couldn't serve out an unremarkable police career without coming to AC12's attention.

So Ted, Steve and Kate aren't aware that Ryan is now a cop?

I don't think Ryan will make a reappearance. I think he's there to remind us of the potential of bentness and how it can become institutionalised. For all we know, Ryan could go straight and put his dodgy past behind him.

Nah, the OCG were clearly aware of and supported Ryan's decision to join the force. They would have killed him if there was any suspicion that he might go straight.

Unfortunately, I think Terry is in danger for that reason also. He had seen Ryan throughout all the intervening time and was known to take photos of people so he could remember.

DH and I finally got around to watching this last night. It was like pulling teeth!

WHAT is with the constant, flapping radio communications? Completely unnecessary and over egged.
AS IF a TFC would grant a firearms authority to approach the white van when no one had actually seen anyone with a firearm!
WHY were all the police cars sat in the yard with all their lights going whilst they were waiting to deploy?!
'Yes boss, no boss, three bags full boss!' Argh, stop calling everyone of a rank higher than sergeant 'boss' in every sentence!

Also they need to sort their continuity out because when they were en route to the flat, the convoy of cars changed (completely different models of BMWs)

DH and I are both police and firearms officers so I will allow for us having a deeper insight into how it all actually works and also I know they have to make things dramatic but there has been a sliding scale of believability from the very first series and it seems that now its dropped off the scale!

We are still going to watch it though

Oooh I love an insider perspective! I did think the whole bit about the robbery was weird. Do you know by instinct If a vehicle is a getaway one? Before checking regs?

Wait - did Lisa actually say anything about Ryan's involvement in the doings of the OCG in Series 5? She was given immunity, wasn't she, but as far as I can recall didn't mention anything about Ryan having been involved in the killing of Corbett and Maneet. I think, when asked who did it, she said something like "he's dead an' all" (suggesting that it was down to Miroslav, who WAS actually dead. Also, I think Lisa is the only one of the OCG remaining (as far as we know) to know Ryan had an interview. )I'm assuming she knew that it was a police recruitment interview, but it wasn't expicitly said as far as I recall.

Not sure if I've remembered that right, but, in the scene with the trafficked girls herded in the room ( where Corbett set off to investigate and had his throat slit) the only people present were Ryan, Miroslav and Lisa.

What happened to the other guy who was in the room with the girls?

@WeeGobshiteBentBastard I have never heard 'order is Fahrenheit' before but different Forces might use different code words. Its usually referred to as critical shot though so there can be no confusion over the order being given.

Which season was it that centred around the firearms team? Don't get me started on the inaccuracies in that one!

@Dramallamabanana My DH used to work in insurance and any disaster/fire/sprinkler system etc. is analysed to pieces. Spoils it for everyone else but I know why you do it.
