Anybody know when it starts? All I've found is this Radio Times article saying it will start before the end of March this year. www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/line-of-duty-season-six-release-date/ Kelly Macdonald is due to guest star.

Can't wait!

(Apologies if there's another thread, I couldn't find one.)

Ryan will definitely turn up. His joining the police was one on the last things we saw in the previous season. I'm sure it'll be significant.

SingToTheSky · 24/03/2021 08:53

I wonder if the boy playing Ryan had any idea who his character would become when he started in s1!

It’s a bit odd that Lisa would have a new identity and yet still be working/volunteering in a related field. But then it’s also odd to me that Kate happened to end up on the suspicious team after quitting AC12. So confused but shall suspend my disbelief.

I really should have watched aaaall the way back to the start to understand this. The problem is there is so much good telly around now we have Netflix etc - it’s like books, I don’t tend to reread stuff because it takes time up that could be used on something new (unlike when I was little and reread the same stuff endlessly for comfort!). Still, perhaps if series 7 is definitely going to be the last one I will rewatch the entire thing from the start before it airs. Taking copious notes and labelled photos of all characters as I go. Maybe even a spreadsheet :o

NoWordForFluffy · 24/03/2021 09:03

We need some kind of vast 'family tree' with every single character plotted on it! 🤣🤣

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/03/2021 09:05

Def expect to see Ryan this series

I did think he was the one by the window watching with a telescope

But sure some said the same and others said he wasn’t

I posted a pic further up thread of the guy in the window, similar in looks but the casting list doesn't say who he is

He was a brilliant actor for his age and in some pretty harrowing scenes wasn't he? The softie in me wants to think he really is reformed and getting in the police to escape but I know deep down that rubbish Grin

Agree. If any of you were on the lengthy 'neighbour knocked a door in a wall into my garden' thread... would a Trello board work?

CaptainMyCaptain · 24/03/2021 09:47

We know Ryan isn't reformed because he was already in the OCG when he applied.

Close. But no cigar. DamnGrin

Yes it said on the board Lisa was in WP.
Agree it's a bit odd given her new job.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/03/2021 10:48

@YouKnobhead, I loved that thread. Though people now say it was a troll threads on the occasional 'threads you'd like an update on' threads which pop up. I was 😭😭

IstandwithJackieWeaver · 24/03/2021 11:07

I remember that thread if it was the one that involved a Spanish granny and conversations with the bloke in the corner shop??

BoreOfWhabylon · 24/03/2021 11:17

Was a fab thread. I think the OP may have embroidered the story a lot bit as time went on but it was great fun!

Fast free fabulous something?
I have a pic but it won't upload

I watched all the previous series right before this because DH hadn't seen them before. Ryan is only in series 1 and 5. I'm torn between thinking that he will appear again, and wondering whether the scene of his passing out was simply an illustration of how futile AC12's work had ultimately been in that series.

Realistically (ha!), although his past has been accounted for in recruitment as a misspent youth, I can't imagine Steve trusting him in AC12, or in any role he came across him in, for a shiny second.

Good point

@storminabuttercup

I actually read that there'd been lots of complaints about a couple of the scenes that he'd been in due to his age, particularly the scene where he's involved in torturing Steve and the one where Kate talks about what might happen to him in prison.

Ofcom subsequently investigated and found the BBC guilty of a serious lapse in care.

storminabuttercup · 24/03/2021 13:05

I'm way too invested in this but was looking on IMDB surveillance officer is deffo not Ryan.
Interestingly terry (the latest actor) is only listed as being in 2 episodes which would be Sunday's and the one where the ocg take those pics of the print shop.
I know we discussed how reliable IMDB before but we may not see terry again I hope that means he's safe and in WP but how would they know to put him in??

It didn't traumatise him enough to stop him coming back to play the same character though. So probably no harm done.

Here is a news report from the Independent

www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/news/failure-line-duty-bbc-guilty-serious-lapse-care-13-year-old-actor-8422599.html

It seems his mum was there and approved the scenes, but ofcom said there should gave been an independent person looking after Ryan's welfare.

I'm a Celeb and Dick and Dom also gkt into trouble

geojellyfish · 24/03/2021 13:58

@FuckTheCheeseHandler

When Kate spoke to the chis handler, she made a point of calling him Sarge. When jo was in talking to her gaffer, Kate was on the phone. She said ‘how do you spell that?’ And then ‘thanks for getting back to me sarge’ (or words to that effect). Did anyone else think the handler changed his mind and gave her the name or have I got it wrong? Please don’t be a bent bastard Kate!
So glad someone else picked up on that!

It immediately pricked my ears due to the repeated use of Sarge so soon after she was talking to the handler where she addressed him that way.

The scene obviously then developed into Kate bringing Jo the info on the surveillance mistake. I just wonder what she might need someone to spell out for her if that was the conversation she discovered the lapsed surveillance?

I have no doubt that this is no coincidence. However, was that snippet of conversation added as a clue implicating Kate? Or left ambiguous as a red herring to draw suspicion? Given how little attention it has attracted, I'm beginning to think it's the former Shock

I hope not though! I don't want Kate to be corrupt Sad

ChocBeforeCock · 24/03/2021 14:49

I don’t want Kate to be corrupt - if she is, I’m really interested to see how they explain her actions in the previous series which are ostensibly completely at odds with this!

toffeebutterpopcorn · 24/03/2021 15:11

Which one is Kate again? I wish they’d wear name badges...

Tall, short dark hair, has been in all the previous series.
toffeebutterpopcorn · 24/03/2021 15:24

Blue eyes? I never recognise anyone... I am a nightmare to watch tv with (Who is she again? Is that the one with the prosthetic leg? Didn’t he die in the last episode?...)
