Anybody know when it starts? All I've found is this Radio Times article saying it will start before the end of March this year. www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/line-of-duty-season-six-release-date/ Kelly Macdonald is due to guest star.

Can't wait!

Yeah I've been winding up my brother about it just being that sibling as he watched it last year and kept going on about it. I gave it a try and there's not many programmes that make me actually Shock in real life. Seems like I may have arrived late at an absolute gem.

My theory is we will get to the end and all will be revealed and we all have a collective sigh of relief that the OCG have been purged ....

then in the final shot we see Ryan promoted and realise a whole new cycle of OCG in the police has begun.

Keeps it open for a future series.

I'm glad someone else has noticed something that's been bothering me about the botched ambush. A robber was shot (possibly dead) yet as far as I can remember he/she wasn't ID'd. The other three were and we saw them later with their photos (and the comment about them "not having robbed anything bigger than a Gregg's".

Jo was bothered enough about the shot robber to say "shit shit shit" but not bothered enough to remain on the scene or obtain an ID for him/her later. Farida was the only copper there looking worried. Not sure if I'm overthinking (again) but I found that odd.

I missed the bit where Buckells was on the phone to call off the initial raid (I'll need to watch again) but afaik he reports to Osborne (who's CC I think.) Anyone remember him and think it could be relevant?

Was thinking that it does seem weird that nothing seems to be happening about the shot robber, might be next episode I suppose. In series 3 there was an AC12 investigation when Danny shot the guy in the first episode. That might be because it wasn’t witnessed, but I would have thought there needed to be an internal police investigation when anyone was shot.

Ryan was on the police radar in Series 1 though - at one point Kate even interviewed him when he was arrested after he tortured Steve and Gates caught him. Surely he would be closely monitored?

Why would he be, years later? He’s never come into contact with police since from what we know. Youth offender, mentored by a community police officer, went through school. The police wouldn’t have any reason to monitor him.

We know that but the police don't. He was a troubled kid caught up with a local gang they thought they'd sorted out, who engaged with community policing at a young age.

In the series 1 interview Ryan admits to Kate that he handles the phones for Tommy. Plus Steve knows him as his torturer. The police therefore do know he's connected.
