Is anyone else looking forward to this? Once it finishes, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier starts, and then Louise after that. After 2020 being a Marvel-less year I am quite excited for a big dose of MCU escapism.

Two things I noticed on first watch were that when Captain Marvel was mentioned, Monica pulled a cross/dismissive face. Makes me wonder if she blames Carol for not saving her mum somehow or perhaps Monica feels like she abandoned them by going off to save other universes and not being ‘Auntie Carol’ which she wanted growing up.

Also, was it just me or did Wanda seem to slip back into her Sokovian accent when she came into the real world and spoke to ?evil? Hayward? I know it’s been noticed that her accent became more American after Ultron and obviously so far she has been very all-American in these sitcoms.

Yes she went full sokovian. I also think Monica is mad at Captain marvel there is definitely animosity. Tbf she didn't really show up for the end of the world did she!

Watched it last night and have rewatched this morning after reading about all the references and Easter eggs.
Two favourite moments were when she came out of the Hex (yes Darcy I’m using it ) and told them to leave her alone because she has what she wants. And “she recast Pietro?!”
But I loved the whole thing

In the Avengers film Pietro / Quicksilver was played by Aaron Taylor Johnson.

In the X Men films he was played by (the magnificent) Evan Peters, who was the one in Wandavision last night.

Since we're supposed to be in the Avengers universe having the Pietro from X Men was 'recast' and a brilliant in joke.

I feel like I’m going to spend all week just randomly (internally) wailing “but what does it MEAN????” about EP Quicksilver turning up!!!

Can somebody tell me what was going on with Monica's brain scan when it came back 'blank' (I think) ? My kids started talking!

@middleager - nothing really. The doctor said she needed to take more bloods, Monica said no. That was it. They put it down to faulty equipment.

@Sparticle basically, quicksilver has always been a grey area, as he is both and avenger AND an x-man. As I recall, fox and marvel had a bit of an argument about who owned him. In the end, they both used him- marvel in avengers 2, as we’ve seen, and Fox in a few xmen movies. fox did a FAR better job with the character, and the actor who played him in those movies is also the actor who played him in wandavision. A very awesome crossover multiverse implication!

I’d forgotten about the blank scan. So many things to think about!

My DParents have watched all the MCU films so I urged them to start wandavision. DM watched the first three but “hates canned laughter and American sitcoms” so I’ve had to really persuade her to persist with the next two episodes!

I don't think she realises the twins are actually real yet either and are also not under her control. She seemed genuinely confused when they grew up and they know more than they should.

Interestingly, I noted that when they where identifying the town residents, there was zero mention of agnes, considering she is the most 'seen' and she is never on the tv screen bits that the sword agent are watching.

The whole reason for this show is to introduce the twins for young avengers films/series.

Disney also purchased the rights to X-Men, hence the recasting of Pietro so they can re-boot/mix the franchise (think Wanda was meant to be Magneto's daughter?) They need the character alive so this is the easiest way to shoehorn him back in.

I also liked the vision asked where all the children are.
Surely all the recast residents weren't childless and there has been no mention of there being a load of kids anywhere that can't get home to their parents.

Yes in xmen Wanda and Peter are Magnetos children but Magneto doesn't know .

SWORD Head Douchebag also refers to her holding “thousands” of people captive didn’t he? We’ve seen about a dozen characters at best, maybe 20 including background people in Vision’s office etc. But there were thousands of people in Westview? Where are they all? Where did the cops go who said they were from Eastview, didn’t they then drive straight into the Hex?

Evan Peters is by far the better version of Quicksilver. Loved his role in X-Men. Just wondering what they're going to do with his character here.

Looking forward to Falcon & Winter Soldier too. Not least for the view .

No mention this time of the person who was in witness protection. I would be very surprised if that just went away, never to be mentioned again. Marvel don't tend to accidentally leave big loose threads like that.

I'd need to rewatch but when they were identifying the others and sticking photos up there was no mention of her which is odd as she is the other main female character. She also seems more aware than others. Maybe I'm just clutching at straws.

Probably someone who has links to a major crime, possibly a baddie turned informant.

Agnes is on the board but with no ‘alter ego’ as in no resident matches up with her.

Her husband gets a lot of mentions but hasn’t been shown yet.
