Is anyone else looking forward to this? Once it finishes, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier starts, and then Louise after that. After 2020 being a Marvel-less year I am quite excited for a big dose of MCU escapism.

Hello!!!! Loki is starting on June 11 and just thought I’d link here to the thread I’ve started for it as I’m assuming WandaVision fans will be interested :-)

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/telly_addicts/4227982-Loki-Disney-starting-June-11-MCU-fans-assemble

It’s been interesting re-reading this thread though, with the perspective of time and knowing how it did all pan out. I’m still annoyed by Paul Bettany’s actor he always wanted to work with being himself though, and the Evan Peters casting!!!! In retrospect wouldn’t it have been better if they had cast Aaron Taylor-Johnson and it turned out be a glamour Agatha was casting on a Westview resident. Would have been more heart-rending.

This is interesting, it also includes a link to the full interview with the director which is a couple of hours long:

Just bumping the link for the next thread, even though there are twelve days to go, ffs. I'll have to re watch the Captain America films in the meantime.

Iirc they are filling the gap between series' this Friday by having a one off "behind the scene "Making of WandaVision" programme which could be interesting - no idea if it will just be about the creative process or also cast interviews etc but worth looking out for

@AlwaysReadyForABlether

I also wondered why Westview seemed so run down in real life but then it dawned on me that this all happens just after End Game - so a lot of the residents would have disappeared for five years and things wouldn't have been looked after.

Literally didn t occur to me till I read your post @AlwaysReadyForABlether !

I just wondered why vision would have picked a total shit hole for their future together. Didn't even think that maybe the 5yr span of disappeared and resulting global horrorshow would have had an impact on the place Confused

My god, they were all social distancing, weren't they? I'll have to rewatch to check but iirc the townsfolk weren't standing too close together and neither were the soldiers. So obvious when you pointed it out!

I presume the reason there was so little Darcy is partly due to filming being completed in a hurry when filming was allowed to re start. Its quite jarring in the final scene how much everyone was obviously social distancing, Skrull Woman, Jimmy and Wanda all had their last conversations with Monica from about a mile away. So I'm guessing Kat Dennings wasn't available. But I was disappointed about that too. And I do think Paul Bettany is a dick. Letting fan theories run wild is one thing but deliberately lying to people to whip them into a frenzy and get let down is a dick move.
Wanda reading the Darkhold at the end is Bad News. In Agents of S.h.i.e.l.d nothing good ever happened when anyone read even a page of it. It sent them all doolally, and let's face it Wanda is fragile as it is.

Didn't realise we have a 2 week wait for FATWS. Boo.

it was a shame that Dr Strange didn’t turn up even for a brief post-credits scene.
Imagine if in the last scene with Scarlet Witch reading the Darkhold, we hear this swishing noise, she looks up, sees a circular portal opening up, a glimpse of the sanctum Santorum....and then end. DA DA DUUUUM!!!

Wouldn’t have even required Benedict Cumberbatch to show up Grin

DS and I watched it last night (we should have been in our new house but the purchase fell through so all our stuff is in storage and we are all living out of a suitcase at my DPs but anyway...).

We loved it actually. A few niggly questions like the rest of you: where did white vision go, I thought he’d come and fight for Wanda; shame that Darcy was barely seen; is Agatha now stuck in her own mini Hex (which made me think of Olaf and his own personal flurry for some odd reason).

We saw the mid-credits scene but missed the post-credits scene until I read it on here so thank you! I didn’t realise that she was projecting her astral form until I read it - it was a shame that Dr Strange didn’t turn up even for a brief post-credits scene.

But I really enjoyed that episode and the whole series overall. I think that watching the YouTube videos actually complicated it for us and perhaps I should have trusted that Marvel did write it for non-comic readers to understand in the end.

While I’m kind of disappointed that there were no big cameos or reveals, I don’t think we can be too surprised. If we think logically, Marvel aren’t exactly going to reveal the big bad of phase 4 right at the start. It could be one of 2. Wanda hearing the twins voices indicates they could be alive in another dimension, possibly the hell dimension as in the comics they were shards of the soul of Mephisto. The other potential big bad is Chthonic who wrote the Darkhold.
I don’t think we’re going to get much in the way of clues as to which (or even if it’s them) until Doctor Strange 2 at the earliest.

@CannotOperateOnThisFailure

I was joking about Tom Cruise - I didn't want to leave any spoilers though!

Agree Darcy was woefully underused. And no one seemed to notice/care/explain Monica's sudden onset powers. Or wonder where White Vision went.

I liked the Wizard of Oz reference with Agatha's shoes.

Agatha is going to be a lingering presence & may have her own arc

I'd love them to do an origin story of Agatha/agnes spanning the last few centuries. Interfering in important historical events just for fun.

We know our reality sorcerer supreme is dead so definitely leaves a job vacancy open. I'm sure they will go back in time for a chat or she'll be in an alternate universe.

I'm surprised people think the ending was unsophisticated! It's opened a number of new doors for Marvel,
Wanda training/learning how to be a sorcerer supreme, this ties in with Dr Strange, possibly becoming Tilda Swinton's replacement.
Monica and the link to captain marvel is there - as well as mention of Nick Fury
White Vision now has the opportunity to develop on the memories he received from Original Vision, and this gives the possibility for Wanda and Vision to be reunited
Agatha is going to be a lingering presence & may have her own arc
The twins clearly exist somewhere and I think there's a strong chance of them retuning in some form
The Evan Peters cameo I think was a clever distraction but could lead to more X-men/Marvel crossover. I'm not sure I want that personally Blush
Agree with those saying I'd like to see more of Darcey and understand Hayward's motivation, was he working for a higher power maybe?

I felt awful watching the residents of west view begging to be let go when the Hex was temporarily lifted - and the lady asking Wanda to let her daughter out of her room Sad

I'm so excited for TFATWS!

This is probably me just clutching at straws but what if the missing witness protection person is Ralph Bohner ie Quicksilver & he is in witness protection?

This crossed my mind too. All the others were accounted for as normal townsfolk.

Oh that's a good point. Theoretically, one of the first things they would have done in identifying town folk is working out who was supposed to be living in the houses on other side.
Maybe Jimmy Woo left him off deliberately if he was the witness.
Although if he genuinely is just Ralph Boehner, he'd have been left off deliberately by the writers so they could keep the quicksilver pretense up. :(
I'm also wondering at the plot that Vision supposedly bought. It seems a bit odd. Why did he pick an lot with partial foundations in some random shabby town? And then leave the deed in her car? When did he do that?
I'm assuming he left it for her but there's nothing to say they didn't choose it together. Westview just seems like a strange choice.

Questions:
1) when vision spoke to Agatha at the edge of the hex a few episodes back, he appeared to disable and re-enable wanda's spell/control. Was Agatha just acting all along?
2) how will Agatha be still under the hex spell/sitcom situation now the hex has lifted? Looked like everyone else was released when the spell was lifted. Has Wanda made it so Agatha is still under the spell?

  1. yes. It showed she was faking in the 'it was agnes all along' song. She arrived after Wanda cast the hex and wasn't controlled by Wanda then.

  2. Agnes was never under Wanda's spell or control. After Wanda took her power she was then able to put her under the spell.

We'll definitely see agnes again. She has knowledge that will come in handy.

This is probably me just clutching at straws but what if the missing witness protection person is Ralph Bohner ie Quicksilver & he is in witness protection?

This crossed my mind too. All the others were accounted for as normal townsfolk.

I spent the episode wondering where the fuck Darcy was. Why didn't they at least let her stick around to talk to lovely Jimmy and monica?!

White vision sodding off also annoyed me. He'd just been given visions memories, surely the first thing he would've done would be to help save Wanda? No go off to have an existential crisis!

The end credit shows they will be definitely bringing the boys back from somewhere. I liked the nod to Dr strange with the astral projection.

Disappointed we didn't get to see Monica's full powers and it was also odd that no one even questioned them.

Just a thought...

Oh, that would be amazing! They must have known the moment that Evan Peters turned up as Quicksilver, fans would be over the moon and the theory frenzy would begin, especially considering we knew the 'multiverse of madness' was coming as well as that the various x-men rights were now available.
Having him turn out to just be some random fellow was a massive let down. I'm still hoping it'll really be him somehow.
