Is anyone else looking forward to this? Once it finishes, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier starts, and then Louise after that. After 2020 being a Marvel-less year I am quite excited for a big dose of MCU escapism.

Wow! I know I post a link every week, but this breakdown is great.

NovemberNameChangeYeahBaby · 05/02/2021 21:25

Going to rewatch shortly, I'll watch that breakdown shortly. If you like podcasts the MCU Fan Show podcast does amazing breakdowns too, but their review of this episode isn't ready yet (drums fingers...)

Absolutely! Thats the whole reason the Red Room had their horrifying 'graduation'.

Just joining, if that's OK? We have family time Fridays with WandaVision too, it's a real highlight for all of us. Which is an achievement as my children range in age from 14 down to 7!

Thoughts on the last episode from us: we're not convinced that Wanda is as in control of "everything" as she thinks she is. She certainly did not expect that knock on the door, and in her conversation with Vision right before it she said "I don't remember how this all started."

Some of the adverts have heavily featured Hydra or Hydra related bits and bobs, such as Strucker. Perhaps she's being controlled by a baddie, and has absolutely no recollection of acquiring Vision herself!

Also think the twins, and indeed the visitor, are somehow actually real, and Agnes is far more aware than previously made out.

Thanks - will check that out.
JM10 · 05/02/2021 22:26

I am sure she's not the only person behind everything.

Now any theories on where all the other children are? Vision has noticed there aren't any. Everyone was saying for the children in episode 1 or 2, but where are they?!

LemonViolet · 05/02/2021 22:30

Shock oh my!!!!

DP and I are sat here proper shock, does this mean that the X-men films are officially canon with Marvel now?!?! Alternate universe?!?!

newlabelwriter · 05/02/2021 22:32

SEMI SPOILERS....

So X Men guy (I forget his name) totally unexpected but I suppose a link back X Men films as Marvel now own the rights again.

And do we think Monica called captain marvel? I think it might be Nick Fury as surely she couldn’t call captain marvel in Space?

The people in the advert are rumoured to be he parents. Agnes is (again rumoured) to be Agatha Harkness from the comics.

I love it, such a great series.

NovemberNameChangeYeahBaby · 05/02/2021 22:45

@LemonViolet I'm not even completely sure the Xmen films are canon with themselves, their continuity is a disaster Grin but Marvel Studios are pretty open that there's a multiverse so I guess the various iterations of XMen are happening in different multiverses. Maybe. All bets were off when Disney acquired Fox and almost all the Marvel characters were owned by one company again (notable exception Spiderman and his main antagonists).

OP posts:
LemonViolet · 05/02/2021 22:56

DP keeps on about Dr Strange 2 being about multiverses and how Wandavision is going to lead into that.

I hope Evan Peters sticks around in MCU, I love him! Only kept watching American Horror Story for his characters.

LemonViolet · 05/02/2021 23:09

Also theory here that Wanda isn’t the one that has resurrected Vision.

  • Darcy, Monica & Jimmy are talking about how did she do that without the mind stone
  • when the twins ask her to bring back Sparky because she can bring back the dead, Agnes asks “can you do that??”
  • the fact she doesn’t bring Sparky back, because maybe she actually can’t
  • so.....who did it?!?
APurpleSquirrel · 05/02/2021 23:15

Brilliant episode! Such a great ending.
My question is where is the mind stone now? If Captain America put it back in the original timeline, where has it now ended up?

NovemberNameChangeYeahBaby · 05/02/2021 23:16

Very good question! She did, after all, say she didn't know how it started. Also, I know she busted Visions body out of S.W.O.R.D, but in that very grainy clip did it look like anyone else that they were experimenting on his remains? Which as Hayward(?) said, was against his will.

Also, when did Vision stop to write a will?!

OP posts:
NovemberNameChangeYeahBaby · 05/02/2021 23:19

I don't think there is a mind stone in our timeline, they borrowed it from the sceptre and popped it straight back. AlternateLoki is running amok with the alternative universe space stone. In our timeline Thanos reduced all of our infinity stones to atoms - but that said, perhaps someone sufficiently adept at manipulating matter could reassemble those atoms?

OP posts:
NovemberNameChangeYeahBaby · 05/02/2021 23:22

But having said that, I feel that Marvel Studios are perhaps done with infinity stones and will want to start with a fresh arc, whatever that may be. It took 10+ years for the infinity stones to all be gathered, used and destroyed, it seems a bit stale to bring them back to start again. But then again there was a LOT of infinity stones talk in this episode so perhaps my instinct is miles off.

OP posts:
APurpleSquirrel · 05/02/2021 23:28

Just rad a review which also says it looks as though Vision's body was dismembered, which it clearly wasn't after Thanos killed him so does imply that SWORD have autopsied him & been experimenting which is against the Accords & his will.
I imagine he wrote his will in Infinit Wars when they knew Thanos would need the stone & the likelihood of Suri getting out & him still alive was slim.

'She recast Pietro?'

Genius. The first real Marvel / XMen crossover. Evan Peters is by far the best Quicksilver.

DS and I haven’t watched the X Man films - can someone please explain as we just assumed it was Pietro recast as they said. (Yes I appreciate we shouldn’t be taking anything at face value...)
CharlW1 · 06/02/2021 08:52

I loved last nights episode! I just said to DH that it feels like we need to rewatch them all over again, as there are bound to be clues we've missed.

Right bear with me. Quick silver name is Peter and who has a sister named Wanda (who you never see) and they are mutants in the x men universe where is avengers universe Wanda and pietro were a "chemical acident" so she has mixed universes Shock

Watch the Xmen first class

Mrsjayy · 06/02/2021 09:51

He is in those.
