Is anyone else looking forward to this? Once it finishes, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier starts, and then Louise after that. After 2020 being a Marvel-less year I am quite excited for a big dose of MCU escapism.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and may well re-watch Smile I may also rewatch some of the earlier films featuring Wanda and Vision.

@DanielODonkey

I really enjoyed it. Felt incredibly nervous whilst watching!

I so agree with this! I spent the whole episode on the edge, the neighbours chatting was so eerie, and then all the more obvious stuff, but they’ve nailed the uncomfortable apprehension mood.

Loving it, feels very Life on Mars.

Really enjoyed ep3. We rewatched eps 1 & 2 first in a mini WV binge Smile. Shits getting ‘real’ now!

Yes what were Herb and Agnes up to? They seemed scared, whereas before I’d thought that the other characters were going to turn out to be in on it/on the ‘baddies’ side, in ep3 it seems that perhaps they’re trapped there too being forced to play their roles?

Does Gwendoline really know more than she’s letting on, or was she also trapped there not remembering the real world, and just some random knowledge/memory came out? I need to rewatch that section. Did Wanda literally throw her out of there, and the end bit we saw was the outside/‘real’ world? Do you think that was conscious on Wanda’s part or more an instinctive rejection of something threatening the cosy sitcom life? Like when the rewinds have happened - it’s a self preservation thing, erase things that don’t fit the dreamlike perfect life narrative.

I think poor Wanda is teetering on the edge her rage is building though !

I am really enjoying this, in a tense kind of Truman Show/Life on Mars way. My heart broke for Wanda when she was talking about being a twin.

Can I recommend watching Emergency Awesome's breakdowns on YouTube? They helped clarify a lot as well as highlighting various Easter Eggs.

I am loving this series as I always enjoyed the character stuff and humour in the Marvel films and got bored during the action stuff. Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen are soo good, and the supporting cast are wonderful too. They've really picked interesting character actors to fill out the roles. Kathryn Hahn is never less than excellent in everything she does.

Apparently it cost 25 million an episode to make so it has to be worth it

How much! It's only 1 set. Grin

I no nothing about the comics but I want to know the significance of their house number.

Surely it's Wanda doing it to herself. She's the one controlling the narrative. One big maladaptive daydream. Stopping anyone/anything breaking her 'spell' with Shield outside hoping she doesn't implode and destroy the world.

Watched the video. Now I know about the door and that it's Sword not Shield (like the symbol on the necklace in episode 3)

Report
LemonViolet · 23/01/2021 13:37

There was a sword symbol on the red helicopter toy as well.

One thing if Wanda controls the entire narrative - and has recreated Vision to populate her dreamworld - why would she create a Vision who notices things aren’t right? He does seem to be independent of her.

Mrsjayy · 23/01/2021 13:56

Unless this "sword organisation has vision and trying to fix/ reprogramme him and Wanda is trying to save him (or something)

Enjoyed that one! Poor Wanda..wonder if Vison becoming more aware is because he is human.. or not actually alive..so many questions.

Did read a slight spoiler..very intriguing

I thought the 3rd one was much better. I'm wondering whilst vision is dead is his conscious still alive???

NovemberNameChangeYeahBaby · 23/01/2021 19:04

@middleager that's my Saturday night taken care of Grin

I did think Wanda is in charge, but I do also agree that its odd that Vision seemed to be twigging that something was going on. I hope they haven't brought him back from the dead but the people they have brought back have generally been done very well.

I like it although hope its stops being almost pure sitcom next episode as its novelty is wearing off
