Thurs at 9 Richard returns
Can we figure out how they are going to pull this off given that he had an ice pick in his chest when we last saw himGrin
My guess. It was stated and he has been undercover for the last 3/4 years or however long it has been

Still it's sunny location, slightly mad premise and good for this time of the year.

This is basically why I watch it Grin
It has the same awkward uptight British detective there against their will stereotype (but female). I thibk it tries to be more of a police procedure drama than DiP which leans into the Agatha Christie style 'get your suspects together and announce the murderer' drama, so I don't think it is as successful. But it's quite fun and the scenery is nice. And the German male detective is handsome (and best not to ask why a Spanish island is being policed by a British/German detective team).

@terrywynne

Does anyone watch the Mallorca Files? I watched series 1 in a gap between Death I Paradise series and just noticed series 2 is happening now.
I do @terrywynne. There’s a thread. Will tag you

I didn’t think this episode was so good

Tho did like the singing

longtompot · 03/02/2021 15:35

Looking forward to this weeks. I hope you've all picked up it's on Thursday AND Friday this week! I would have missed it if I'd not been paying attention to the ad last night.

SoupDragon · 03/02/2021 15:58

I had not noticed that!

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/02/2021 16:05

Me neither

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/02/2021 16:07

A former sergeant returns to help solve the pianists death

A 2 parter

mogtheexcellent · 03/02/2021 23:27

Just seen the trailer. Gosh i hope nothing happens to Catherine. Fortunately the 2nd part is on Friday so we don't have to wait a week.

GreenSlide · 04/02/2021 21:19

@notacooldad

If I had Florence's figure, too bloody right I'd be wearing shorts and a vest top in the Caribbean Yep, me too!! The clothes don't distract me to be honest. There's so many other things that you could pick up on that are not correct protocol wearing a shorts and a vest top to work us the least of them. I just enjoy the programme for light TV viewing.
Normally I would totally agree with you but it has really annoyed me that Neville had to put trousers on to go investigate the murder scene while Florence was in short shorts!

Ralf Little looks great in this though and I'm liking the shorts Blush

SoupDragon · 04/02/2021 21:28

I reckon he was shot earlier and the gunshot was a recording played through the missing sound system.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/02/2021 21:28

Watching the drowning so will watch tomorrow

SoupDragon · 04/02/2021 21:49

Dammit. There goes my theory,

GreenSlide · 04/02/2021 21:55

OH MY GOD WHAT IS HAPPENING

PrincessScarlett · 04/02/2021 21:59

Ooooh it's Camille!

Selkiesarereal · 04/02/2021 22:07

So glad I came on here as otherwise I wouldn’t have picked up that part two is tomorrow, can’t wait!

Maireas · 04/02/2021 22:17

Poor Catherine! That's a mystery about the dead bloke - who really died and what does Catherine know? Seems like Patterson has an idea.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 04/02/2021 23:01

@GreenSlide

OH MY GOD WHAT IS HAPPENING
I have no idea! I'm so pleased it's on tomorrow, and we don't have to wait until next week!

If I were a betting woman, I'd have money on Joseph being Adrian's son, not Pasha's.

Lurkingforawhile · 04/02/2021 23:05

Oooh! Hadn't spotted the timeline possibility there re the son. Good call @PolkadotsAndMoonbeams. I really enjoyed this episode, esp the sarge taking Marlon under his wing. I was in Guadeloupe visiting the set this time two years ago. Have massive nostalgia for that holiday!

theliverpoolone · 04/02/2021 23:06

If I were a betting woman, I'd have money on Joseph being Adrian's son, not Pasha's.

My dd said that too - she pointed out that Aidan 'died' 20 yrs ago and the son is 19.

pinkandstripey · 04/02/2021 23:10

Son was saying something about music not in his blood - so he knows dead guy not his father.

SoupDragon · 04/02/2021 23:26

I also thought Joseph was really Aidan's son.

CrochetOrBust · 05/02/2021 00:01

This is starting to remind me a bit of The Murder of Roger Ackroyd.

I also think Joseph is Aidan’s son. And that the fingerprints are someone pulled over for something else and whoever it was gave Aidan’s name. My money is on the weird housekeeper.

Either that or Commissioner Patterson is running some kind of witness protection programme faking deaths all over the place - that could also explain how Richard could come back.

theliverpoolone · 05/02/2021 08:06

The Commissioner doesnt exactly have a good track record - every detective has had at least one case involving a failed historic investigation the Commissioner was involved in! How he got the top job is a mystery in itself Grin

SoupDragon · 05/02/2021 08:37

I'm not sure the housekeeper could successfully pull off the name Aidan.

Do they finger print dead bodies for identification purposes? Is that where the prints came from? Which doesn't explain how they got on the gun... how long do prints last on something? Could they have been from before Aidan died and the killer wore gloves?

SoupDragon · 05/02/2021 08:38

I'm not sure there would have been a lot of competition for the job of commissioner - it's the only explanation!

Clawdy · 05/02/2021 08:40

Why on earth didn't Ralf follow up Catherine's comment about having some important information? I know he was temporarily distracted, but he could have rung her.
