Please help me name this actor. Driving me bonkers.

Ok. I think he’s Scottish. Over 60. Balding but hair a sandy/ginger/blond sort of colour. Slim, sharp features (I think)
Similar age but not either Bill Paterson or Denis Lawson. I picture him as weary and maybe as an older uniformed police officer. 😩😩😩 Any ideas?

@PortalooSunset, thanks for your support re the lists. I think I read last night that he was born in Essex and raised in Scotland, hence the Scottish accent.

I'm almost disappointed this thread is over. Every fortnight or so I would check in, scroll through a list of names (most of whom I'd never heard of) and wonder if the mystery would ever be solved.

If you've seen the Christmas episode of Black Mirror with John Hamm, Ken Drury plays the wee girl's grandad in it.

That's weird because I know the name and the face but don't remember seeing him in anything!

@tobee, thanks. It’s difficult to explain how you see someone in your head. When posters were suggesting people like Damian Lewis, I was realising that. I wanted to say he was like a real version of the talking baby from Family Guy with a Scottish accent but I thought that would confuse people more.
