Please help me name this actor. Driving me bonkers.

Ok. I think he’s Scottish. Over 60. Balding but hair a sandy/ginger/blond sort of colour. Slim, sharp features (I think)
Similar age but not either Bill Paterson or Denis Lawson. I picture him as weary and maybe as an older uniformed police officer. 😩😩😩 Any ideas?

It’s starting to drive me mad. Lots of the (serious) suggestions are too young. I’m trying hard to physically describe him. I think if you think of Adrian Dunbar, make him older. Now make him ginger haired/strawberry blond haired. Now made him very receding/balding. Then that’s the sort of look. So thin of face. Still convinced he’s Scottish. Can picture him in glasses. Seeing him as policeman, bank manager, Dr (maybe pathologist), teacher. Again, not a household name actor but smaller parts in lots of tv stuff if that makes sense. He does has a similar look to Gordon Jackson but slightly more modern in time. DH is sick of listening to it now so you lovely lit are my only hope. I know you’ve been brilliant so far and I’ve driven some of you mad but I’ve got to find him now.

Struan Rodgers is a very close look too but it’s not him either.

Alan Cumming? He was born in scotland. Played a tv cop (well consultant), wore dicky bows, glasses sometimes, possibly right age range... his character Dylan reinhart was rather sauve.

This is my plan . Otherwise Ken Drury but he looks just like Gary Lewis . Jack Watson - looks like a bus hit his face . Lesile Schofield - but he has a tash . David Hayman - scottish but plays the baddie . Ralph Brown - no relation to Bryan
