Please help me name this actor. Driving me bonkers.

Ok. I think he’s Scottish. Over 60. Balding but hair a sandy/ginger/blond sort of colour. Slim, sharp features (I think)
Similar age but not either Bill Paterson or Denis Lawson. I picture him as weary and maybe as an older uniformed police officer. 😩😩😩 Any ideas?

But that appears to be in response to someone posting a link to an entire page of Scottish actors so I can't say as I blame her! She seems to have responded to suggestions (though obvs entirely in the negative so far).

This is my Samantha Bond thread moment as I’ve just spent a couple of hours trawling through actors who have appeared in Morse.

@babbi, you are indeed correct that it was Ken Drury as you were correct when you first suggested him on the 21st. I am so, so sorry for leading you all up 680 post garden path. I was genuinely checking every suggestion as it came in but babbi’s must have slipped through the net until she very kindly suggested him again this evening. Oh gosh! What can I say? Oh well, at least I’ve owned it and ‘fessed up rather than leave you all hanging. And he was Scottish after all. And at least it wasn’t Bill Paterson.

Right, I googled him and recognise him from the Bill.....but who did he play in the bill? I can’t remember and google isn’t helping and it’s bugging me!

He was also suggested by chergar on the 22nd, and was on BackwardsGoings excellent list as well!

Obviously thanks too to @BackwardsGoing for including it is their extensive list which I was grateful for but didn’t read in detail as I was confident I’d checked all suggestions as the thread went along. Apologies for that too.

According to his imdb listing he appeared as six different characters in six different episodes of The Bill between 1985 and 2000. very much a jobbing actor then.

Looking down his list of appearances he has played a doctor in loads of tv programmes.
