Ok. I think he’s Scottish. Over 60. Balding but hair a sandy/ginger/blond sort of colour. Slim, sharp features (I think)
Similar age but not either Bill Paterson or Denis Lawson. I picture him as weary and maybe as an older uniformed police officer. 😩😩😩 Any ideas?

@PortalooSunset, my husband was trying to think of a Scottish actor. He said he was an old guy. I suggested Bill Paterson, he said no. Then I remembered this guy snd was trying to remember his name. In the meantime DH remembered what his actor was in and it was of course Bill Paterson he was thinking of. That’s why the numerous posts asking if it’s BP have made me laugh so much.

Sounds like Mark Lewis Jones but he’s Welsh not Scottish.

@CrochetOrBust, no he’s far too heavy set. This guy is slight but maybe tall; wiry looking. Slim features rather than full or rugged.

Definitely not Simon Callow or Peter Capaldi. This guy isn’t a leading actor and probably not a household name. But I can still picture him.

An actor in his early 70s with sandy hair, slim and slight. Possibly played a cop.

I'm guessing that if people post a picture that'd help, or maybe op will google the names and see if they match her thoughts?

OK op. I'm not sure if I'm thinking of the same person as you are, but I'm visualising someone with a hairline similar to Richard E Grant/Art Malik, only sandy/reddish. Thinner in the face. Often with glasses. Fairly prominent adams apple. Think likely to have been in Midsomer/Silent Witness/Waking the Dead type programme. Not Scottish as far as I recall, often at the posher end of English. No idea if it's the same person you're thinking of and it's no use to you even if it is because I can't think of a name!
