The Shield is quite something. Every episode leaves you feeling quit wrung out.

I’m so jealous of anyone who gets to watch The Shield for the first time. We rewatched it all when it came on All4 last year (I think) - takes a little while to establish itself but it’s absolutely brilliant. Pretty shocking in parts even now, but I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s incredible watching things just spiral completely out of control. I wish I could find anything as compelling - unfortunately I think I’ve seen every really brilliant major TV series - I’ve run out of amazing stuff.

Although from the last couple of years, I would have to say Barry - although different as it’s a dark (pitch black) comedy, it’s the most compelling brilliant thing I’ve seen in the last few years. Fargo is also fantastic, especially the first 2 seasons.

I know. It's not really much of a challenge to write down five or six series that you quite liked, is it?

You're meant to be picking ONE SERIES! Like: you're on a desert island with a TV, DVD player and ONE BOX SET. Which would it be?

My ultimate is 24. Absolutely loved it. Superb television. And ironically season 3 with the virus and Tony and Michelle is the best of the lot.
