Ive just started to catch 30 Rock, i never saw it the first time. It does tickle me. I still think that Frasier was just perfect though. I wonder what they are doing now?

Yes!

Deadringer · 11/08/2020 19:32

i forgot about soap, very funny

CSIblonde · 11/08/2020 20:43

Frasier got boring quickly & his brother stole every show. Will &Grace or Cheers every time (reruns every morning at 6.30am).

CSIblonde · 11/08/2020 20:46

Forgot: Superstore with America Ferrara is a joy. Dina the security guard is the breakout star. Her sexy cop outfit at Halloween was a thing to behold.

midsomermurderess · 11/08/2020 20:55

I think 3rd Rock from the Sun gives it a good run for its money.

Deux · 11/08/2020 21:25

I love Frasier. It’s the only sitcom that has me laughing out loud.

Does anyone remember about 20 years again C4 did a Frasier weekend. I think the played the top 20 episodes or something? It was the forerunner of binge watching. Smile

LioneIRichTea · 11/08/2020 21:27

It’s got to be Modern Family or Curb Your Enthusiasm for me 👍🏻

EachandEveryone · 11/08/2020 21:41

I love Curb too but hated the last season

Yep!

Ham Radio and the Valentines episode when Niles faints are the best. In fact Niles is just amazing - much better then Frasier

AuntyFungal · 11/08/2020 22:09

Love all the references to Maris.

Strong cast of peripheral characters.

KatherineJaneway · 11/08/2020 22:12

If you love other shows, start threads about them. Don't hijack a Frasier thread.

AuntieMarys · 11/08/2020 22:14

Yes. Martin is hot.

Ummm OP asked if it was the best US comedy?! Surely that invites others to give their opinion which may be shock other shows. It’s not up to you to anyway, not your thread. Jeez Confused

I agree it was my least fave.

TheKarenWhoKnocks · 11/08/2020 22:21

I wouldn't describe Martin as hot exactly but he's the one who always talks sense while the rest of them are ninnying about. And I love the interaction between him and Daphne eg when they freak people out in the lift by referring to mysterious situations.

SinkGirl · 11/08/2020 22:27

30 Rock takes a while to hit its stride - the first series is quite pedestrian but after that it becomes absolutely brilliant.

CaptainCorellisPangolin · 11/08/2020 22:40

Yes! I absolutely love Roz.
"What do you do when the romance goes out of a relationship?"
"I get dressed and go home."

Frokni · 11/08/2020 22:41

Frasier will always be my fav. But agree the ridiculous accents of the Moon family was too cringy.

I lurved 3rd Rock! Which channel is it on at the minute?

My remaining US fans would be:

  • Friends
  • Golden Girls
  • I Love Lucy

Great thread! I need to get watching Parks and Rec and Brooklyn 99
:-)

IlanaWexler · 11/08/2020 22:51

I love how the obvious character type for his brother would have been someone the complete opposite of Frasier, but instead they went with Niles, who is even more pompous and neurotic! Genius!

RobotRepair · 11/08/2020 22:56

Yes absolutely.

Bbq1 · 11/08/2020 22:57

No way because The Big Bang Theory is.

Bbq1 · 11/08/2020 22:57

Followed by Friends

Bbq1 · 11/08/2020 23:07

Ooh yeah Roseanne was goid in the early days and Ellen. Me and my mum used to love watching The Golden Girls together. I loved The Fresh Prince too.

colouringindoors · 11/08/2020 23:08

It's good, especially the fIrst three series, but for me in US comedy nothing beats MASH.
