Have their ever been a couple from these shows that have stayed married?

Wondering if Abandrew was vilified in Australia after this, like Nasty Nick was in Big Brother...?

I’m still feeling the editing is making more of Abandrew and Cheryl’s rancour than the reality. Again they smiled to each other when they mistakenly thought they were being called up to the couch of commitment 😆 and again when they were actually called up. Then the camera ‘panned in’ which actually looked like a cut-in shot, and showed them looking stony faced.

It annoys me that we never get to see the couples talking about anything tangible, I still feel like I can’t really get a handle on their personalities and the true dynamic between them. It was illuminating to hear Abandrew talking (rudely, admittedly) about Cheryl’s two topics of conversation: hair extensions and the Kardashians. I would’ve liked to make my own judgement on that and other aspects by actually seeing those conversations happen. I mean, surely Anthony must be offering something beyond psycho eyes and repeatedly uttering ‘game over’ for Nadia to look at him with such affection? Michelle and Jesse are so tactile in the commitment ceremonies - are we really to believe she’s as distant as she claims to be the rest of the time? Yeah yeah I know it doesn’t make for ‘dramatic’ telly but I need at least a smidgen of reality in my Reality TV dammit 😂

Loving Simon and Alene - I’ll be sad if they don’t make it. I’m starting to really feel for Jesse too now, he’s such a strange little fish behind those boy band good looks and slightly gormless smile. I wish he had someone who appreciated him more. Susan and Sean are clearly enjoying the Kenny G, massage oil and candles kind of sex that means they can’t be in public without eye-fucking and slurpy kisses... Bleurgh!

Maybe they didn't show the boys' night out during filming so that when the programme finally airs and the women see it, they can do shocked interviews and get even more publicity for the programme. 🤔

I really hope they edited the Jesse/Michelle part otherwise Michelle is incredibly cruel.

The only positive aspect of the horribleness that is Abandrew is that all Australian women know to avoid him ... and all UK women now know too

Oh wait. E4 has it as 25 episodes total. So it finishes next Friday.

Perhaps Abandrew is suing for PTSD because the show has shown people what he is really like and he can't cope with the truth of his behaviour...

I’ve watched quite a lot of 90 day fiancé while in the states. It is addictive, but it’s quite upsetting too. Some of them are just idiots and are being taken for a ride!

I was watching the USA gogglebox and they showed a clip what I can only assume is the latest MAFS Australia. It seemed just as ridiculous as this one to the point even the Americans were saying it was crazy. Needless to say I will not be watching it as for some odd reason the Australian one seems to be about who they can humiliate rather than about single people finding love.

My mum in Australia said the series after this one started getting so ridiculous as to be unwatchable

Only half way through episode 19 but has anyone else noticed the continuity is rubbish? They just inserted a clip of Michelle in a totally different top.

As Markruffalo said, it’s about couples that have either met online or they went to xxx country on a holiday and met someone out there and wanting to bring them back to the USA to live and having 90 days to see if they will marry at the end of it etc. There are also spin offs like 90 day the other way as mentioned.

Some have worked out wonderfully and been married 5 years or so with children etc, and some we just can’t seem to get rid of even though their relationship totally flopped and have no reason to be on the show ( Yes I’m talking about you Darcey!) and others... Such as Anfisa, Big Ed, baby girl Lisa, Angela and Colt and his mum, Mohammed and Danielle.. well I will let you decide on that for yourself, lol

Anderi is from Moldova, married a lady from Florida ( I think she’s in Florida) and I can tell you now, Spoony is a gem compared to him!

I find it fascinating that the identical twins have such different personalities. I wonder what happened for Michelle to feel so jealous and insecure and Sharon to be so much more robust. She was jealous of how Sharon looked before even meeting her husband and seems to self jeapordise . Given they have the same genetic material.and were brought up in the same home it's interesting.

I agree about Sharon and Michelle. Early on we heard from Michelle that she looks up to Sharon “because she’s older”. Older by 4 minutes 45 seconds or something! The dynamic between them is quite strange.

You often get a confident twin. I see it at school often. I actually think Michelle is nicer looking and gentler in personality.

Michelle dotes on Sharon too much. She would probably be quite a nice person if she stopped following her sisters actions and had a mind of her own. Sharon seems like the bossy bitchy bully and Michelle just backs her up.

Michelle is much nicer and prettier. Shaza would of been suited to Spoony.

Corona and Lark - I agree about the twins, It's a really curious dynamic.

Like all of us, I've encountered twins. I've met twins who adored each other, and twins who hated each other - but none where one seemed as dependent upon the other as these.

Sharon runs a cleaning business - Michelle works for her.

Sharon is the "pretty" one - Michelle copies her make-up, envies her her boyfriend (and can't see she's got the decent guy)

Sharon is successful in everything (apparently) and drakes Michelle along in her wake . . .

I honestly think that Michelle will hang on as long as Sharon does. Without Sharon she barely can cope with putting one foot in front of another - and she doesn't want Sharon to do anything she isn't able to copy.

TBH, I think it would do her the world of good to get a job well away from her sister and build a life (and a personality) for herself.

It would be interesting to see how she could cope on her own - and how Sharon would cope, too. SHe's used to having the adoration and emulation. Without Michelle's support she might find being a cowbag mean girl harder than she realised.

Isn’t Michelle the one with her own business though? Wasn’t it Sharon who’d been travelling?

Anthony is usually pronounce with a T not the TH, but AnTHony uses the TH sound in his name.

Schadenfreude I hadn’t clicked that it was probably Michelle’s weird dynamic with Sharon that was holding her back from giving things a go with Jesse. She’s so clearly envious of Nick - and was the second they all met - that Jesse never had a hope. I wonder if they’d been matched the other way around Michelle would have still wanted what Sharon had and not been interested in Nick.

And he’s WorryWart, it’s impossible to tell what the actual dynamics are in each relationship without seeing their everyday conversations and interactions. We get shown the same clips over and over instead of expanding and getting a more realistic view of each couple.

Everyone who goes on these shows is so sure that they can’t be painted as the bad guy no matter how the show is cut, but I bet you could do it to any one of them with the right editing. If they cut out all Spoony’s misogynistic comments would we think they were a great couple? It’s all very manipulative.
