Anyone watching? The Sydney couple are never going to last. She’s so annoying, surely just on it to get on tv??

Have their ever been a couple from these shows that have stayed married?

OP posts:

It’s the wide eyed, shiny face with a fake, stiff smile!

IslandbreezeNZ · 23/07/2020 18:19

@SunshineCake I am not always up to date and so make a point not to look at this thread until I am. You can't spoil people fun if they want to discuss it.

lilgreen · 23/07/2020 18:23

So long as nobody posts spoilers about what happened after, it’s fine, just make sure you’re up to date before looking on here.
Surely those girls will have asked their partners after the dinner what went on at the boys night.

ThisIsGonnaHurt · 23/07/2020 18:27

@SunshineCake thats a bit random expecting a thread about a show not to have spoilers if you are behind. I have just caught up so only read up to where I was. What would there be to discuss otherwise Confused

SchadenfreudePersonified · 23/07/2020 18:36

How dare you malign Gerry and Sylvia Anderson lilgreen!

Their puppets were more lifelike and had a greater range f emotion than Spoonface ever will!

RinderTinderNotRinderGrinder · 23/07/2020 18:39

Grin excellent point Schadenfreude. I’m rewatching the dinner party and the gaslighting of both Cheryl and Sean by Abandrew and Spoony is disgusting

lilgreen · 23/07/2020 18:39

GrinGrinGrin

hoxtonbabe · 23/07/2020 19:05

Teehee...mumsnet can be so mean Grin Spoonhead, spoon face, spoony, China doll, thunderbirds puppet.

And all this for one person ( the little shite deserves it though)

All that said and done I don’t think anyone can be as terrible as Andrei on 90day fiancée...she is legally married, with a child to that lazy, super knob Angry

SchadenfreudePersonified · 23/07/2020 19:14

What is this "90 day finance" of which you speak hoxtonbabe?

Eaumyword · 23/07/2020 19:19

Can't wait for tonight's episode! Surely Michelle and Jesse and Andrew and Cheryl can't vote stay?!
Just caught up with last night and couldn't believe the gaslighting of Andrew, backed up by Anthony.
Interesting fact...the phrase 'got my back'was used 31 times. We were playing bingo with that and what peoples' guts were saying, haha!

lilgreen · 23/07/2020 19:33

Ok, let’s go!

LarkDescending · 23/07/2020 20:04

Anthony willing everyone else to fail. He is truly sinister.

lilgreen · 23/07/2020 20:12

Jonesy “It’s gonna be a tough decision.” Hmm

WorryWartOne · 23/07/2020 20:19

‘Day Dot’ ‘Traveling along’... two more for the drinking game...

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 23/07/2020 20:24

Oh @SchadenfreudePersonified you’re in for a treat! 90 Day Fiancé kept me up until 5am one night bingeing it!! Blush

Very similar format to MAFS, lots of couples who have met online or holiday romance etc and they want to bring their spouse over from another country on the fiancé visa.

You follow them getting to know each other and generally realising how poorly suited they are Grin They have 90 days to get married or the fiancé has to leave USA.

There’s loads of series plus spin offs such as 90 Days - the other way, where the American person goes to live in the other country (a guy called Paul whose fiancé Karine lives in the Amazon is - unintentionally - comedy gold) You’re welcome!

lilgreen · 23/07/2020 20:29

Oh I’ve heard of that from a colleague. Will save it for when this ends.

lilgreen · 23/07/2020 21:02

Bloody hell, Michelle really put herself and Jessie through all that for nothing!!!
ABandrew was really feeling the pressure and I’m glad the experts put the pressure on. Cheryl definitely wins.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 23/07/2020 21:12

I don't think there were any surprises about who stayed and who left.

Abandrew still lied and gaslighted and justified himself, and felt that he was the one who had made all the sacrifices. I was very disappointed that:

a) he wasn't properly challenged on his vile behaviour -ie confronted with the footage of the "Boys' Night"

b) that even Sean drew back from saying "You were a git Andrew - you were well out of order the way you spoke about Cheryl and lampooned her in front of everyone." He really softened his criticism and couldn't form a single unambiguous sentence. I could have been listening to a politician.

I'd love to know what he's doing now. Whatever it is, I'll bet Cheryl is doing better than he is.

Destinysdaughter · 23/07/2020 21:20

I'm actually watching the first few episodes which I missed initially. OMG I can't believe Sean is only 35, I thought he was about 50!

Stay out of the sun people...GrinShock

RinderTinderNotRinderGrinder · 23/07/2020 21:22

Did you see how distant Spoony’s hug with Abandrew was at the end? You could see him realising that Abandrew was not being portrayed as the good guy and that he’d made a mistake taking his side. Spoony looked really uncomfortable from the moment Abandrew started being questioned and it was clear they thought he owed Cheryl an apology.

No surprises. I thought Cheryl might do the right thing and leave, but she showed that she really has no respect at all for Jesse.

RinderTinderNotRinderGrinder · 23/07/2020 21:23

Knowing I’m older than all of them is making me feel ancient Grin

lilgreen · 23/07/2020 21:29

They could have gone further but I think it was clear what the experts thought of ABandrew and they’ll all see eventually.

Destinysdaughter · 23/07/2020 21:39

Sorry, I'm still on about the first episode, can't believe the evil twins compared Cheryl to Shrek! Wow she really has been through a lot.

WorryWartOne · 23/07/2020 21:46

I’m still feeling the editing is making more of Abandrew and Cheryl’s rancour than the reality. Again they smiled to each other when they mistakenly thought they were being called up to the couch of commitment 😆 and again when they were actually called up. Then the camera ‘panned in’ which actually looked like a cut-in shot, and showed them looking stony faced.

It annoys me that we never get to see the couples talking about anything tangible, I still feel like I can’t really get a handle on their personalities and the true dynamic between them. It was illuminating to hear Abandrew talking (rudely, admittedly) about Cheryl’s two topics of conversation: hair extensions and the Kardashians. I would’ve liked to make my own judgement on that and other aspects by actually seeing those conversations happen. I mean, surely Anthony must be offering something beyond psycho eyes and repeatedly uttering ‘game over’ for Nadia to look at him with such affection? Michelle and Jesse are so tactile in the commitment ceremonies - are we really to believe she’s as distant as she claims to be the rest of the time? Yeah yeah I know it doesn’t make for ‘dramatic’ telly but I need at least a smidgen of reality in my Reality TV dammit 😂

Loving Simon and Alene - I’ll be sad if they don’t make it. I’m starting to really feel for Jesse too now, he’s such a strange little fish behind those boy band good looks and slightly gormless smile. I wish he had someone who appreciated him more. Susan and Sean are clearly enjoying the Kenny G, massage oil and candles kind of sex that means they can’t be in public without eye-fucking and slurpy kisses... Bleurgh!

dubiousdecision · 23/07/2020 21:50

This thread has me in stitches !
Nadia's lobotomy / spoonface and Jesse's well thought out story 😂😂

Abandrew is a total dick and hopefully all Australian women will now know not to touch him with a bargepole (Cheryl should be given some sort of Aussie citizenship award) but Spoonface is just utterly evil and deserves to be fed to a large salty 🐊
