Anyone watching? The Sydney couple are never going to last. She’s so annoying, surely just on it to get on tv??

Have their ever been a couple from these shows that have stayed married?

@SpanishFly I kept calling them the "older couple" then realised that both Susan & Sean are younger than me!

YourVagesty · 14/07/2020 23:55

I told DH about the genius 'Abandrew' nickname and he has challenged me (and by extension, all of you) to come up with a similar nickname for his least favourite person, Anthony. Any ideas? What about Angrony?

Agree with pps, the Jonesy, Jonesy, Jonesy, Jonesy thing was so cringe. Very interesting in terms of group dynamics that the rest of the group followed the twins (who were just marking their territory) in all the Jonesy nonsense. As though he was their best friend.

After having watched the last 2 episodes on catchup tonight, sadly I don't really think any of the couples will make it. But hopefully, they have learned a lot about themselves and what they want which will help them in the future

Feel especially sad for the 2 farmer guys, but it's a big ask to expect a woman to drop everything and live and work on an isolated farm with them.

Destinysdaughter · 15/07/2020 00:56

Not a spoiler but Cheryl looks like she's trying to be an influencer on Instagram...

WhattheFishappening · 15/07/2020 05:12

Simon doesn’t want to be with Alene but doesn’t want to hurt her.
Susan thinks Sean’s farm is grim and has done a massive u-turn. I think she was expecting something very different.
Abandrew’s song was just awful & Cheryl really doesn’t fancy him.

Cruddles · 15/07/2020 06:33

I know a few people with farms in Australia and none of them are decrepit like Sean's, his is really grim. At least the house is anyway

Cruddles · 15/07/2020 06:35

I can't believe that's her, she has a nice natural looking physique on the show, in that picture she looks ill
Crumpettes · 15/07/2020 07:30

I was curious about the distance between Susan and Sean so had a look and I think it’s about a 7/8 hour flight Shock and that’s without the travelling at either end. The ‘experts’ were quite cruel to match people with such a massive difference between them.

Italiangreyhound · 15/07/2020 08:08

"The ‘experts’ were quite cruel to match people with such a massive difference between them." I agree, just horrible.

MrsJamin · 15/07/2020 08:18

They did it to make a good TV programme unfortunately! Proper bastards.

LarkDescending · 15/07/2020 09:52

Yes they’ve been set up to fail unfortunately. They need the stress and conflict to get 29 (or whatever) hours of prime-time TV out of it. Matchmaking a nice compatible couple in the same town might be a recipe for contented bliss, but it won’t bring in the ratings!

RandomMess · 15/07/2020 10:06

The matches have been ridiculous. It's one thing to move for love it's another thing to move and move to a complete opposite lifestyle...

All designed to make good TV and give not one shiny shit about the impact on the people involved.

Honeyroar · 15/07/2020 10:07

I don’t think Abandrew was out of order trying to kiss Cheryl. She’d approached the experts saying there was an attraction between them and had been wittering on to everyone in his family about how it was all going well etc. He hadn’t realised just how fake she was. He thought she fancied him.

It seemed strange with Susan. Even before she’d arrived at the farm she was turning her nose up. Most people would have been hopeful initially. Plus, if it was his house, it could easily have been done up. A bit of paint, gardening and different furniture would’ve made a big difference. And she was pathetic about mixing the feed with her hand. It’s not like he asked her to touch a turd, it was a bit of cereal!! But hey I’m a country girl and have horses, but she was a bit silly.

How about Twatony for Anthony?

I have a friend who’s daughter was on a reality programme and her career now is being an influencer on instagram. She does pretty well off it, but it all seems very silly to me!

@LunchBoxPolice yes, as noted upthread it is season 4 of 7, screened in Australia ages ago, and we are scrupulously avoiding spoilers on here.

WhattheFishappening · 15/07/2020 10:34

Did anyone else have the feeling during the wedding episode (as soon as he and his best man got off their horses) that Sean’s farm was not going to be a Dallas ranch?
I think that’s what she expected sadly.

He’s a really lovely man but I thought they were mismatched. I think the distance will end them. That and the fact that Susan can’t bear it or him anymore for that matter...

Yet, He’s still being so lovely. I feel for him.

LunchBoxPolice · 15/07/2020 10:41

Ah missed that sorry! Have reported my post.

LarkDescending · 15/07/2020 11:25

No worries @LunchBoxPolice - hope you stick around, as this is a fun thread.

KurriKawari · 15/07/2020 11:54

I think we're unanimous in our feelings towards Anthont, but what do we think of Nadia? He seems to want a wife that looks pretty and doesn't want an equal relationship. She must realise that he's not very nice to anyone, including her.

x2boys · 15/07/2020 12:02

What about Moanchelle for Michelle?

YettaTessieMarmelstein · 15/07/2020 12:37

There isn’t one couple I think will last. Susan and Sean are looking less and less likely which is a shame

1984andout · 15/07/2020 13:04

I got depressed watching Susan and Sean driving towards his farm. You could see she was so disappointed.

Like @Honeyroar I'm horsey so wouldn't care about half that stuff that upset her but it looked so isolated and grim. Just worn down and outback.

Also flying 7/8 hours? That's like living in London and being matched with someone in Africa.

Not just the distance but the climate and culture.

I think Simon has unresolved grief issues (not that there's a time limit on grief) but he's looking to have a relationship to fill an unfillable void.

I think Blandrew's best mate came off as a sour git. Vanessa is making a real effort.

Anthony's phonecall was chilling. The way he gets wound up is awful. You can picture him whacking Nadia then saying your pushed me to it'. Awful man.

SpanishFly · 15/07/2020 13:07

@WhattheFishappening yes, I agree re Sean - no disrespect intended at all, but his entire family were similar to him and similarly dressed, and clearly not "refined" - for want of a better word!
He's one of those people who, even when spotless and immaculate, looks a little bit grubby. Like Rhod Gilbert.
I think Susan is now realising this, and everything is unravelling.
