Anyone watching? The Sydney couple are never going to last. She’s so annoying, surely just on it to get on tv??

Have their ever been a couple from these shows that have stayed married?

At least it's not Love Island!

It did cross my mind too that they didn't show enough of Cheryl and maybe there is a reason why she isn't liked. But still, I think they've ganged up on her and that's not ok.

TimeForANewUserNameMethinks · 11/07/2020 20:51

I think Antony had a fair point, despite his smarmy way. It is MARRIED at first sight, it isnt a dating show. So C and A going on dates has changed the purpose of the show.
If they wanted to just date, then they could away from the show. Bringing them back in has changed the dynamics.

Plus I see why the twins are sceptical, C does seems to just ne desperate to stay in the show by whatever means.

therealkittyfane · 11/07/2020 20:55

There are 29 episodes in this series!!
Oh no really?
I’m hooked now!
Just binge watched everything on C4

Honeyroar · 11/07/2020 21:03

Yes I agree, Anthony had a good point, and I don’t think C&A should’ve been involved on the programme at all once their marriages were over. They could’ve done a quick update at the end of the series. But they’ve been made one of the biggest focuses of the show at the moment (probably because Cheryl seems to incite drama!). But Anthony was just so aggressive it was ugly. And the twins want to focus on their own flailing marriages as they look like the next ones that will crumble!

29 episodes?? OMG! 🙀 How many have we done? We’ll be here until Xmas! Surely none of these lot can stay together more than a few more episodes??

MrsJamin · 11/07/2020 21:32

I can't watch these (on the whole) awful, conceited, manipulative people for 19 more episodes! I might look for some summary on youtube!

Ttraining · 11/07/2020 21:57

@Spanielmadness

Is it just me, or do the experts match on the basis of what the man ‘needs’ and how the woman can ‘understand’ him. It seems very biased in terms of putting men with women who can make them better people, rather than putting well rounded people together....... seems like the women get a bit of a rubbish deal.......
Only just started watching this - but YES! THIS! I’m on episode 2 and exactly this is really annoying me!
Emmy2020 · 11/07/2020 23:42

@MrsJamin Wow that is loads I thought there would only be a few episodes left

KurriKawari · 12/07/2020 01:27

@MrsJamin I watched a few episodes ahead and it very soon becomes the C & A show. Ironically the one couple not matched by the show. And you rarely get to see some couples all episodes whilst we are subjected to these two and their headache inducing relationship.

Italiangreyhound · 12/07/2020 02:15

dramalamma "Anyone else think abandrew has a bit of an unrequited love thing with the twins?" I'm not sure if he has it or if one of them has it.

I think the reason some people are being mean to Cheryl is that she is the youngest and the most beautiful.

Anthony is just horrible. I do think he has shot himself in the foot.

29 episodes?!! Is that why it is on five nights a week. I can't remember the other series' ie British or American versions being so involved/manipulated. From the ones that I have seen they almost let them get on with it and check in every so often. The 'experts' in the Aus one seem too involved. Almost like they like to create the drama.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 12/07/2020 09:09

Can't stand Antony, the constant reference to it being a competition, I thought they were there to find 'love'. 🤔

The twins became so possessive over Andrew, embarrassingly so I thought, i think it's because of the hen party night with Cheryl getting upset over the princess fiona comment, they havent liked her from then.

Nick also said twice to Cheryl that she had to prove to the group that she was there for the right reasons, fuck off does she, twat.

I've got property wound up over this as you can probably tell Grin

I think Simon's hair does look nicer but its irrelevant, he should never have been pushed into cutting it, very unfair.

blue thank you, I couldn't place who it was that she looked like.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 12/07/2020 09:26

Yes the uk version only had 3 couples I think last time, they're also more ordinary people and we see them going about their normal lives.
This one is more reality tv which wasnt the vibe the uk version gives. Also they're not legally married, where as in the uk series they are, I imagine that encourages people to apply for the tv time, nice honeymoon holiday and fun dates etc.

‘Jonesie Jonesie Jonesie Jonesie Jonesie Jonesie Jonesie Jonesie Jonesie Jonesie’

What is wrong with them all? What has he done to deserve such adoration?

Honeyroar · 12/07/2020 11:28

What happened at the hen night with Cheryl? I didn’t see that one. Was there a princess Fiona incident there too?

OP posts:
SpanishFly · 12/07/2020 14:44

The hen night was ep 1 when the brides all met each other. Cheryl said she was born in a place where there used to be a castle so she thought of herself as a princess. One of the twins said something like "like the shrek princess?" or something.
Cheryl was incredibly annoying, so I think it was just to put her in her place a little bit. But I dont know whether there was more to it all than this. But cheryl and the twins defo don't love each other.

😂 I woke up in the night muttering ‘Jonesy... Jonesy...’ seriously they need a swear box-esque Jonesy box for the next dinner party! DH (who was forced in to watching) said he was going to throw the TV out the window if one more person said it 😂
WorryWartOne · 12/07/2020 16:41

Twins are on the shit list now, talk about over-inflated sense of self! Shazza clearly projecting her anger about Nick’s predilection for stuffing fivers down strippers’ thongs. Jesse staring gormlessly at the bread rolls was probably enough to get Michelle riled up too. Abandrew looking like the ecstatic dork kid invited to sit with the cheerleaders, but nice to see him attempt to stick up for Cheryl.

Seems that behind Anthony’s china doll face lurks a heart of pure evil 😂 I had him pegged all wrong! Poor Nadia stuck with that uptight arsehole. Bad enough he’s got a head like a wooden spoon, now he’s stirring the pot 😂

Thank god curly top was taken in hand, looks 100% better. I’m ignoring the ethics... the expression ‘the end justifies the means’ was surely created for this scenario!!

SpanishFly · 12/07/2020 18:22

In principle, I dont like that Simon got his hair cut. I do understand his "but I'm the same person as I always was". However he gave me the boak previously, despite being a lovely and caring guy. Yet now he's much much more attractive, and I'd be far more likely to get it on with him than previously. So I'm not really sure where I stand on this overall. It's not about being shallow, but there does have to be some physical attraction to make things work

1984andout · 12/07/2020 18:44

There was a guy in one of the US seasons that had a MASSIVE beard. Brett?

Anyway Dr Pepper (I think) said it'd be a good idea to shave it off before going down the aisle and he did. It was one of those things that was more likely to increase his attraction on first sight.

I do think Simon's hair falls in the same category.

Although again I see the ethics of this... maybe if you lost half a stone... etc

KurriKawari · 12/07/2020 23:33

Re Simon and his hair. It does have a good effort on him and in getting him out of hiding behind it. I remember on the wedding day he was upset because his father had recently passed away. That must be so hard for him, bet he's wondering what am I doing when they all start arguing at the dinner party.

KurriKawari · 12/07/2020 23:35

I cant look at the "experts" without thinking "Simon, Cheryl and Louis" cos the commitment ceremonies are so like X Factor!

Italiangreyhound · 13/07/2020 02:15

I think the premise of any make over show is they are going to change you. So a big part of getting married at first sight is change! The test will be if he lets it grow back.

The twins/Jonsey 'phenomimun' is interesting. I bet there is a psychological term for the sort of hierarchy whereby people who actually know each other, in a group of supposed strangers, take some sort of central place. That being akready known and 'approved of' elevates the individuals status.

I'm off to Google it!

RozHuntleysStump · 13/07/2020 12:32

Just caught up with it all. God. These ‘experts’ are an embarrassment. What a load of guff and I have a psych degree myself. This is what makes people not take such qualifications seriously! Anyway. Wtf. Anthony is a massive tit end and so are most of the rest of them. Curly top is now hot af and I’d have him in a flash, although not sure if he is tall enough...😂. Poor sod though. The end definitely justified the means.

The old fella sticking his tongue out reminded me of Father Ted...
