Brookside - do you remember the Nat and Georgia storyline?

I was too young to watch it, I know it had some very controversial storylines assisted suicide etc. But a brother and sister in a relationship?! Were they full siblings who had grown up together?

Yes I can remember it. I can picture the actors. It was all going on in Brookside.

Bloody hell that's a bit far fetched! I don't think any other soap has been that brave

Did they stay together in the end?

No. Not as I recall. The family was completely destroyed by it and at Christmas the Dad stood up to give a speech and just started sobbing. They then moved away.

IIRC Georgia the daughter bore the brunt of their disapproval and Nat found someone else.

I was thinking about this the other day! No other programme (that I am aware of) have covered this subject since yet it must happen, especially when families are estranged.

Yes they were brother and sister.

Nat got married to a property developer's daughter but left her to go back to his sister. If I remember rightly the property developer wanted money from Nat's dad to keep quiet.

I could almost understand an attraction if say they'd not met each other until adulthood but a brother and sister who have been raised together... Ugh!!

I had a huge crush on Nat when I was a 13 year old. I was willing to overlook the small matter of him shagging his sister.

There were so many wacky storylines on Brookside that I can't remember an un-wacky one.

The body under the patio seems highly realistic compared with what some of the neighbours were up to.

I seem to recall a similar-ish story in Doctors, years ago, but I think there they were half siblings who met in adulthood. Don't remember how it ended.

Goodness I was a teenager but remember it so clearly and when the neighbour caught them (Max I think) they told him they were adopted and then he was talking to their mum who was talking about when she gave birth to them! Crazy storyline! I loved Brookside!

Sure they stayed together. I remember the mum dropping them off in their new home and that was it. Nat pretended to be gay to his wife's dad as the reason he left.

Yes in that article I posted she had an abortion because the child would have had genetic abnormalities.

The father went mad when he found out because it was after they were meant to have stopped.

They then moved away, and the parents split up.

The one Brookside story I did watch was the awful Matthew and Emily one. I've spent the last couple of hours watching incest gate on YouTube! Georgia was very pretty

I think they did stay together as a I remember an episode where they moved away to a new house and the mum went to visit. She ended up having an awkward conversation with one of their neighbours when she introduced herself as Mrs Simpson and the neighbour said. 'Ah so you must be Nate's Mum.' Bloody loved Brookside.

Yes they did stay together. I think this was the start of Brookside's demise!
