In other funeral episodes they've done it really well and cut to scenes of life going on. This did seem jarring and it was unusual not to have any scenes of the actual funeral.

lazymum99 · 31/03/2020 13:35

The funeral of Shaki was brilliantly done. With the real relatives of stab victims. It was incredibly moving.
This was just disjointed and sad.

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/03/2020 14:11

Ah last nights was sad

Still Can’tBelieve they killed off Denny

Oh dear Linda :(

Where did kat go?

Who’s going to run the pub once Mick and Linda leave? Where will Tina and Shirley live?

What did Ian take out of Dotty’s bag? Was it keys to the arches?

theschoolonthehill · 01/04/2020 02:12

I thought the bit where they cut to the flames of the fire in the Vic and then up to Denny's photo was uncalled for

I thought it was the crematorium, then realised it was the Vic. Why did they do the eulogy in the Square instead of the church? Usually they do a memorial there, not the actual funeral.
It was strange to see Raine as the undertaker and even have the job really.

Ben and Halfway living in Paul's old flat strikes me as unusual too.

Are Mick and Linda leaving EE or just buying a new house? Linda needs to get away from Shirl quickly, she is a nightmare.

The fatter brother with the younger sister is an odd match too. She is very good looking and glamorous. Would she really date a ratcatcher?

What is Ian planning to do with Dottie's keys? I presumed he would look for her phone but maybe its on her computer and he is going to break into Sonia's and look for it? As if nosey Sonia isn't going to appear either coming from or going to work.

Ben was a big character, I agree they should have had most of an episode about him instead of so many little stories.

The80sweregreat · 01/04/2020 07:55

Sharon and Phil! I was blown away by their acting last night. So much history there.

SoupDragon · 01/04/2020 08:36

Sharon and Phil were amazing. The actors really show their worth when they are in scenes like that.

Ben and Callum are in the flat because Callum moved in there with Whitney (and then moved in Stuart and . I agree that it is kind of weird given Paul lived there though.

The80sweregreat · 01/04/2020 08:53

Phil and Sharon are such good actors.

Mrsjayy · 01/04/2020 09:37

I think Kat went to a Sisters, Jessie Wallace was suspended for 3 months because of an incident on the boatShock

SoupDragon · 01/04/2020 10:15

I don't remember Kat leaving. I don't think I missed an episode but I clearly wasn't paying attention!

SoupDragon · 01/04/2020 10:17

Phil and Sharon are such good actors.

Except we usually comment on Sharon's nostril flaring, eye flashing acting. 😂 Then they throw in real emotional stuff like last night and it's amazing.

Mrsjayy · 01/04/2020 10:19

A blink and you obviously missed it phone call in the Vic last week and pooooof Kat has gone leaving all her kids and baby cherry with Kush !

The80sweregreat · 01/04/2020 10:25

Sharon is great but so were mick and Linda!
Very good episode last night.

SoupDragon · 01/04/2020 10:26

The kids will be no trouble. They are not seen and not heard so are the perfect offspring!

Justjoinedforthis · 01/04/2020 20:41

I always like reading this thread but never post anything, BUT I want to make a prediction for who takes over the Vic: with Phil potentially in prison, will the dreaded Alfie make a return with some magic money, and buy it in cash with no paperwork? Or anyone have any other ideas? I am embarrassingly sad that they are halting production.

theschoolonthehill · 01/04/2020 20:47

Not Alfie please not Alfie!!!!!

southeastdweller · 01/04/2020 21:25

Outstanding episode last night with some top notch acting. Ben and Callum are such an adorable couple 💕.

Mrsjayy · 01/04/2020 21:59

Noooo not Alfie not again!

SoupDragon · 01/04/2020 22:42

I didn't like Ben and Callum when they got together and they still seem totally wrong to me. Ben and Paul worked.

And dear god, please no Alfie!

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/04/2020 23:21

And that’s it for another week :(

Was fab acting and now shazza and egghead are friends again

After All the arguing etx

Wonder if Phil will take on Keanu baby same way MARTIN took on kush

And maybe they will run the pub together

Shaz back behind the bar

And yes I missed the kat leaving too

SinisterBumFacedCat · 01/04/2020 23:28

God no not Alfie please! I wonder if Sharon will end up running the pub again?

Ben and Callum are a too much in love, one of them is bound to die at some point.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 02/04/2020 02:45

I think Phil will buy the Vic for Sharon, would love to see her back as landlady (and what a terrific actress she has proved to be these past weeks), but what on earth could they do with Mick, Linda etc if they do leave the Vic? I can’t see them fitting in anywhere else in the square?

totallydevoidofideas · 02/04/2020 04:09

I thought Shazza and Phil's scene was really good as well as they've got enough history for it to really mean something when Phil said 'how did we get here?' and both of them saying it was their fault. I must say Ian is the one to watch as well, getting all that awkward attention for being the hero on the boat when he basically killed Denny himself. His face is wonderful every time it comes up! He's obviously going to mess things up further now he has Dottie's keys.

lazymum99 · 02/04/2020 09:02

Have I missed something. What is all this talk of mick and Linda leaving the Vic. Did they discuss it or is this a spoiler?

SoupDragon · 02/04/2020 09:09

Not a spoiler. Mick said "it's time" and the rest of the conversation was about leaving the Vic, although I don't think they said it explicitly, it was more talking around the subject. It was clear what they meant though.
