I have watched Call the Midwife ...all series!

And I am half way through Ashes to Ashes

Mrsjayy · 20/03/2020 17:09

Not at all keen on Peaky Blinders though.

Oh no is it not good some body gave me an actual box set for Christmas because I had said I hadn't seen it.

SoupDragon · 20/03/2020 17:14

I've seen one episode of Peaky Blinders (the last series) and it was simply too violent for me. Not my thing at all. DS1 loves it.

Mrsjayy · 20/03/2020 17:17

I don't get the whole Cillan Murphy thing though.ill give it a go if not I'll give it to dd2 to take to the CEX shop.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 20/03/2020 20:52

Mrs my DH binged watched PB a couple of years ago on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day .
It is not in the least bit festive .
It is dank and dark, they mutter , the swearing, the shagging.
No story line that I could see ( but TBH , it was on in the periphery )

Some nice horses though Xmas Grin

Last year I said "I know Christmas telly is dire but we are not having 24 hour violent box sets "

I feel the urge to dig out all the "Inside No 9 " , League of Gents ( including the Christmas Special) , Physchoville (sp)
And maybe even "Whitechapel"

Mrsjayy · 21/03/2020 08:05

Oh A LoG fan Dh hates it thinkS it is "weird" urm it is meant to be Grin

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 21/03/2020 12:01

Peaky Blinders has never appealed to me either. I will continue to give it a swerve until it's the ony box set left standing that I've not watched Wink.

So the two episodes per week rationing of Eastenders has already begun.

Before Christmas I binge-watched ER re-runs (albeit I did 'speed watch' through some). I may be forced to revisit them at a more moderate pace. Maybe there's a PhD thesis for us all during this strange time...

Bioprepper · 23/03/2020 10:21

Not a peaky blinders fan. We’ve started watching Waterloo road instead on ‘eastenders’ nights. I never watched first time round but I’m quite enjoying it

The80sweregreat · 23/03/2020 16:32

Someone on Facebook has some ' Coronavirus' themes going!
How will they write this in though?

It's much grimmer than Eastenders is usually , so story lines are hard to think of.
I bet they will have to pretend it's not going on?
It's a first world problem , but I wonder what they will do?

iknowimcoming · 23/03/2020 21:45

how many times is Callum going to miss recruitment events because of Ben? Glad Whitney is out, not sure how long Ian can continue hiding his secret from Shaz - buying Karen off was weird. And gutted that Chantelle didn't confess to her dad that her husband isn't a hero he's a bloody sadistic abuser Sad

SoupDragon · 23/03/2020 22:20

I think Chantelle was close to telling him. Surely it was obvious that she was lying given how long it took her to say it was for Whitney. If that was the case, she would have said it right away.

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 23/03/2020 22:24

It’s so silly. Any father would have known from that reaction there was more to it. Mitch isn’t stupid.

SoupDragon · 24/03/2020 08:06

I think he does suspect but is biding his time.

Optimist1 · 24/03/2020 10:09

I was convinced that when Ian was going through Sharon's phone looking for a pic of Denny's trainers he'd say "Oi, Sharon, there's an unopened message here from Denny" and pass the phone back for her to listen to the audio clip that was sent from the locked cabin!

theschoolonthehill · 24/03/2020 16:45

I thought Ian would try to steal her phone. He knows about the message doesn’t he as Dottie played it fuu it r him?

Is he really planning to pay Karen to move away so Sharon can forget about the baby. I don’t think out of sight out of mind applies to parents!

Chan is on the verge of telling isn’t she?

Is Callum now going to turn into a criminal. He seems very besotted with Ben, but would he change his values from a law enforcer to a criminal so quickly?

EmeraldShamrock · 24/03/2020 17:49

I hope Callum dumps Ben, he is explosive he was responsible for Callum's kidnapping, if that didn't inspire change nothing will. There is definitely a place for Callum in EE without Ben.

iknowimcoming · 24/03/2020 18:44

EE is on tonight then not again till next week! How will we cope? Grin

SoupDragon · 24/03/2020 19:02

I will cope by saving today's episode until later in the week. DD is currently doing her usual dance classes via some video conferencing app in the living room 😂😂

The80sweregreat · 24/03/2020 19:15

This Coronavirus has disrupted everything,
I am so fed up in isolation with 3 men! It's grimmer than any EE episode ever written.
I saw them in the Vic last night and that was the final straw

JemimaTab · 24/03/2020 20:46

Callum recovered very quickly from his fall didn’t he. Considering he was lying there completely immobile for 2-3 days, I thought he’d have broken something or at least had some very severe bruising, but he only spent a night in hospital and is fine, no limp, no apparent mental trauma (which you’d think there would be, especially as he’d left the army due to PTSD or similar).
Also, he’d been a criminal when he first entered the show (he was involved in that jewel heist), so maybe he’ll revert to form. I’m not convinced he’ll actually join the police - how many assessments has he missed?

Optimist1 · 24/03/2020 21:29

I'm not clear why Ian is so keen for Karen to move away? And is she seriously going to leave all the rest of her family, including Bailey and Chantelle's kids? It makes no sense to me.

That scene with Whit in her dressing gown falling into Gray's arms seems to point to what some of us have been fearing for a while.

lazymum99 · 24/03/2020 21:52

Surely if social services became involved and Sharon officially gave up the baby then Karen, as his grandmother and a terrific mother, would get him.

EmeraldShamrock · 24/03/2020 23:45

Habiba cheered me up she's very funny.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 25/03/2020 08:03

Ash's brother is certainly a very different 'type' to Adam, isn't he?

I can well understand Whit not feeling comfortable in her own home.

Karen won't leave, surely?

Where do we think the Tiff/Keegan storyline is heading?
