We watched that too @Eastie77 - I was a young teen at the time (Janine was my hair icon 🤣) and didn't realise how bad Pat's acting was and even the bleak story line had some humour in it. There's not much to laugh at any more!

I actually assumed that Callum died at the end last night when his fingers stopped twitching and his hand relaxed but now I'm not so sure.

Someone pointed out that this would all have taken place on Valentine's day which would mean that Sharon lost her Dad, Denny and gained a Kenny all on the same day. I know it's not real but bloody hell that's a lot to take in!

I still think that Martin and Sonia will have gotten rid of Leo's body as surely they wouldn't have just left him there! Sonia will be dragged into it any way as the police showed up about Bex and they spotted that she was acting oddly when they mentioned making her a cuppa which wouldn't meant going into the kitchen and now Whitney has told them that she left a body there.

There's no way she wouldn't have noticed that and dodgy demeanor might cause suspicion!

To be fair Denny's death has been a long time coming - I do wonder if it was on the cards from the writers way back then?!

When Phil was confronting Keanu and saying "you were like a son to me", it occurred to me that Phil is always recruiting new sons - first Jay, then adopting Denny and now Keanu. Poor old Ben obviously not son enough for him.

I think that Phil still can't quite get his head around Ben being gay.

I forgot about Ben being deaf until the disorientation!

I want to know how they all managed to escape the sinking ship and navigate from below deck... they all just popped up on the surface!

Phil has an uneasy relationship with Ben. He may be a gangster ( or was) but his not straight and therefore not the ' right ' kind of son for Phil to trust with the family businesses completely. He has tried though and they did bury the hatchet , but his just not comfortable with his sexuality. That's how I see it and I know my inlaws were the same with my late sil : never accepted her as gay.
It went against their own preconceptions of what a person should be like unfortunately and this is more common than people think : people may pretend or accept it , but it's not really how they feel about it. They can't accept it fully.
Phil does tend to befriend people he manipulate as well. He wants to mould them!
His a complex man : might even start drinking again !

I don't mean in a mega homophobic way just when Phil was saying "I don't understand him"... I think they are very very different and Phil is still of that old "hard man" eastend generation!

When did Phil and Kathy get together? Was Kathy with grant and Sharon with Phil? Or the other way round? I can remember the scene in the archers though when one of them ended up in the car pit and Barbara Windsor then made her debut in the hospital

Phil also kind of adopted Jamie as well so yes, a very long history of trying to find and mould the perfect son in his own hard man image. Ben has never been good enough - no wonder he is so twisted.

Grant married Sharon but she had an affair with Phil and it was broadcast by cassette tape around the Vic. Michelle has taped her confessing or something and it ended up in Grants hands : long before mobile phones of course! Grant beat Phil into a pulp and left him on the arches pit to die.
Kathy married Phil and had Ben who then had meningitis and hearing loss as complications. They divorced because of his drinking ( I think ? ) and Kathy took on the club that willmot brown owned once.
Sharon married Phil years ago. It's been a long marriage by EE standards.

I remember the scene in the Vic where Grant reveals that Sharon had almost slept with Phil (again!) and Sharon turned to Kathy and said "Sorry Kathy".

In 1993, Kathy was left shocked and devastated when Pete was involved in in a car crash, which killed him. Later in the year, Kathy began a romance with the mechanic Phil Mitchell in Paris, which managed to survive interference from Phil's wife Nadia, who tried to spilt them up, as well as various revelations about Phil's past criminal activity. During a break-up, Phil got drunk and proposed to Kathy, and she accepted, however during their engagement party, Kathy learnt that Phil had almost resumed his affair with his sister-in-law Sharon Mitchell, a revelation that ended Kathy's friendship with Sharon and lead to Phil being beaten by his brother Grant, and almost ended Kathy and Phil's relationship.

Of course Sharon married Phil twice!

She was with Dennis, Jack and some bloke in Florida.(?) If you remember Sharon was not supposed to be able to have kids due to a botched termination in US (I think) and Denny was a surprise miracle baby. So too Kenny.

Talking of killing the youngsters, the had the anniversary reveal of Bobby murdering Lucy. So another surprise involving a kid. Obviously not killed but I thought Bobby being a murderer was pretty awful at the time.

Also, there is the Woolwich Ferry on the Thames which takes cars. But Woolwich is about 8 miles from Tower Bridge where the party boat started and I think they were heading the other way?

I forget that Kathy and Phil had Ben together! She seems too sensible to be Phil's ex.
Ian and her do look closer in age than mum and son too! It is bizarre.
